They've tried to over egg this in the absence of the Burnley fixture into something it really isn't and if we ever get back to the Prem the lot of them need sacking because there'll be a hell of a lot of big following coming again and they clearly can't be bothered handling those at 3pm. Really it's probably all down to the stadium manager being pally with the local Plod and they all want easy overtime in the absence of Burnley to justify that when it comes around again. Waggot in his alleged drive to boost home turnouts should be overruling this kind of thing if the Police aren't insisting ion it-which they clearly aren't. Old pals act !

Well spotted, Mathewmann used to have something to do with it as well I think, surely they haven't spent all their pieces of silver from the sale of the club and airline yet ?

Souness had a pecking order with Flitcroft running the dressing room and Short being the players PFA man or something, both could relay things back and forth without the need for confrontation between manager and players and also make sure each side didn't need to be bothered with certain stuff. Nothing wrong with senior players having a bit of responsibility and carry a bit of clout but a real danger if the manager isn't a strong sort or doesn't keep a tight reign on it. Players deciding to change team tactics mid game is a new one though and could explain why we end up at sixes and sevens on occasion taking whoopings. Surely team meetings are enough for that kind of thing.

Yep banter and arguments aside they've shaped up into a good side again this season and are a credit to their manager. Many over there thought that Graysons good work and stability would be sorely missed but where he was Mr Safe this guy has a bit of drive and fire in his belly to push them as far as possible on limited means and why not. Why ever take your foot off the gas when handily placed ? So what if you don't quite make the play offs or do and come up short ? Why be fearful when you can be bold....

Best Rovers Team Youve Seen
tomphil replied to joey_big_nose's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Rippers in for Bentley and i'd always go for the SAS up front they were a strike partnership, otherwise i'd go with the rest of the team above. -
Correct and when we averaged 5/8k they averaged 3/5k a division or two below odd seasons of success aside so like for like it was perfectly normal across the board in those days. It amuses me reading on PNE forums older heads trying to tell the young ones Rovers were only ever a Bury or Rochdale type club before Walker ? What a complete myth in fact is it them who more resembled that size of club post Finney for a long time, truth is in real terms there isn't and never has been much difference in the hardcore support of all the Lancashire town teams but they've nearly always been a bit behind Rovers in fanbase terms, it's that they need to accept.

He better hope non of those players in charge have Steve Kean tendencies and connections otherwise, well......... ?️

Jog on, knobbers (all 5 of em) were hating on Rovers way before Jack because despite our small crowds we still usually operated a division or two above PNE on a regular basis. You are at your pinnacle now for the first time since Tom Finney so I suggest you enjoy punching above your weight whilst it lasts - propped up coincidently by a rich benefactor who similar to our lot uses your club as a tax avoidance tool and has little interest in actually investing enough to propel you to the top. If I know one thing about North Enders it is they are more fickle than Rovers so the next player to be sold will have you mummering Hemmings out again, forgetting that it's only his input that has allowed you to stay at this level, poor Trevor never gets any credit. Time for you to look forwards to Blackpool overtaking you again soon !

A load of old baloney if TV suddenly took an interest and said an anti social kick off time they wouldn't give two stuffs what a few local residents thought ...nor the police so needlessly moving a traditional kick off time on the alleged back of that is no excuse at all.
-
Bring your own bottle and enjoy a table laid out with twiglets and traditional bar room snacks, unless Waggot thinks he can turn it over to away fans for 20 quid a head.
-
Cha-v judging by a lot of their followers.
-
Blackburn Rovers away is to them what Feyenoord was to us, they get a tad excited at a trek to a big famous ground housing one of the countries most illustrious clubs bless em .

Football managers are accountable to the paying supporters as well as their official employers as in some cases those paying supporters pay their wages although granted not so much the case in the top 2 divisions these days. However if you don't have that support fans stop going and those that remain eventually turn and the situation is unworkable any longer so they have to go. Therefore by definition of course football managers are accountable to their clubs fans it's rather odd anyone would see it differently although there are exceptions if your name is Kean !!! The more they are willing to explain some of the (odd) stuff they do the better for everyone it doesn't mean they have to alter anything despite opposite views from fans but it's on their back, live by the sword, die by it.

That puts paid to that then ! Sure I read somewhere he's a Forest fan though but maybe just a touch of the Craig Bellamys..... boyhood Liverpool/Celtic/Cardiff etc fan ?
-
That's his natural level at the min I think you'd have to be seriously blinkered not to see that, it'll do him the world of good and he should stay there a spell or go between the two to get some fire back in his belly. Any coincidence that he finally gets selected for the U23s on the night his old club, the one he supports are playing their biggest rivals ? Hmmm... ?
-
Great spin on that one ?
-
Another flashing light that should cause him concern he should've been recruiting to try and protect him a bit more.
-
The vidi-printer, those were the days.. ?

Speaking of tea bags I hope the defence doesn't resemble one again in this and seeing as the season is likely to peter out with midtable stability and the manager continuing to mess with personnel. formations and hopefully blooding a few more promising youngsters we need to be going all out to win these derbies.
-
Several on here pre warned on that one although I think he had a different formation planned for league 1 which he pretty soon realised wasn't going to happen with the players he had. Then it was a case of just try and shoehorn him in which didn't really work either, still i'm sure Peter did ok out of it. Where is he now by the way ?
-
Sobering thought. I wonder what his net spend actually is ?
-
He'll never get rid of Samuel I think he's determined to try and justify that one for some reason, his handling of him has been as odd as his handling of Brereton at times. I'd also not be that surprised to see Gladwin get enough games near the end of the season to trigger another year or something daft like that. Seems a good egg our Tone but does some strange stuff at times.
-
He'll be kneading some big backing from the owners !
-
Nope, but they are all better athletes now after coming through academies with a bit better first touches and more comfortable on their wrong feet in general compared to days gone by i'd wager. I'm talking about lower down the scale not at top level where you'd expect those attributes, technique, yes maybe, skill ? No.

Back to the football, I fear a spanking in this one !
