It is probably a knock-on effect, from so many young players being in the first team squad. The academy teams become weaker.

Surely we wanted Van Hecke on a permanant deal, If he is only a loan, it is not what we wanted, so move on. Sepp Van Berg is our loan target. I am still of the opinion, get the targets we want, on the contracts we want.

No we wouldn't be better off playing Annesley, I doubt he will make it as a pro. Non-league is Annesleys level, for me.

If you are not going to start Phillips or Pickering, who is going to play center-half with Ayala ? It might be a better plan to play Phillips, Ayala and Pickering, at the back, in a three. Britten and Edun as wing-backs.

I would say that the best Center-back we have had in the last 10 years is Ayala. People judge Ayala on his injury record. But there is nothing to compare it to with Van Hecke, as he hasn't got a long enough record.

But if both teams are playing on a Saturday, why have both teams at home. Surely it is better for supporters to have one team at home whilst the other is away. I know not many get down to watch the U21s, but there will be even fewer, if the Firsts are at home on the same day.

A problem being that in my opinion Batty is more suited to the Left Wing-Back role than the Left Full-back role. What I mean is that Batty is more of an attacking player than a defensive one. If he could improve on the defensive side of his game, he would be a shoe-in.

Most people who are critisizing Pickering, are questioning his lack of pace. Would they be happy starting Jake Batty ? He has pace a plenty and is quite aggressive. I personnally don't think Batty is ready yet. In a couple of years time, maybe.
