When I lived in Scotland, I went to see Elgin city v Queens Park. A group of fans at the ground were chanting, We are Queens, We are Queens, We are Queens.

If the game was to be behind closed doors, then no fans would be going. The atmosphere would be totally different , so the players would get no familiarity. The surface is grass, not synthetic, I would expect professional players to be familiar with the surface and be able to play on it.

Although it wouldn't be preferable, if we kick-off the season with the present squad, so be it. Get on with the job, a coherent plan on the pitch will be a good start. Aim for promotion and a couple of cup runs.
