I did, in fact I still do rate Burns. To me he has everything you would want from a high press forward. JDT doesn't seem to rate him and his is the opinion that counts.

Because in an already congested season, games in the domestic leagues are being postponed.

For me the only three that will stand a chance of making the first team are, Adam Wharton , Phillips and Batty. All the rest will, manage at U21s level or may even get loans away. But that will be their level. Pratt may also have a chance if he is playing in a team that wants a no-nonsence defender.

From what I have seen, I doubt any of the ones you have mentioned will make the first team.

It depends if you are playing midfielders or wingers. Or a combination of both.

I can't see Cirino making the first team. In my opinion, Batty is a better prospect in that Left wing-back position, than either Cirino or Gent.

And what happened to Pickering, has no bearing whatsoever on Phillips's future. It is also strange how the England U19s manager also sees Phillips as a defender. Perhaps he hasn't heard about these defenders that morph into top class strikers.

We seem to be losing midfield battles because of the numbers played in midfield (2), rather than who the players are. I still think we need the extra player in midfield rather than in attack (or false 9).

Perhaps the club thought, that at the time, Gallagher was a better bet than Brereton. I cannot say as I am not privy to the clubs thoughts. But it all amounts to nothing and we have just got to get on with the outcome of past decisions.
