    What I noticed was the amount of times downing won possession by not touching the ball. The experience showed when he just allows a ball to run out for a throw.

    So what will happen is absolutely nothing. It is not so much who is given the chance. But that our tactics are changed and that someone is given the chance.

    If as a pro footballer you sign for a club, it is not beyond expectation that you will get a chance in the first team. I can see how not being given that chance has pissed him off.

    Give him a chance in the first team. If he doesn’t impress try someone else. But don’t persist with a system that isn’t working.
