  1. Venky is the nickname of the Rao father who founded and built it up. So Venky is Rao. The folk running the show now are actually Dessais. The daughter and her husband. The two Rao brothers have equal individual votes with the husband and wife but take a much lesser role in operations. Madam is effectively the big boss.
  2. The correct answer is no idea. But external factors have resulted in promises to Lambert and JDT being reneiged on so it is a good job Eustace believes he already has the tools to do the job. Reverting to pre March 2023 Venkynomics and behaviour, we would be looking at a Gregg budget of around 15m. March 2023 feels like a lifetime ago.
  3. Now we no longer have Adam in midfield, we are seeing how integral he was to the side and what a huge hole his leaving has created.
  4. As CEO, your job is to manage upwards as well as the business. Swag clearly is failing in that regard too.
  5. Have I missed Harry Leonard getting injured? He is a natural finisher and header and that last gasp header would probably have been a goal if Harry had been the one with the chance.
  6. We are hoping for the best of JDT ball allied to Eustace. Last night we got the worst of both.
  7. If we get relegated, it will be 100% the responsibility of this incompetent as CEO who is failing on every practically dimension a CEO is measured on.
  8. Gally showing the case against giving a new contract. Chrisene poor. No penetration in the team so far. Good job Birmingham aren't shooting straight .. yet?
  9. I don't believe we have a sell on. Hope I am wrong but I don't think so.
  10. Totally mystery this one- impossible to forecast with any confidence. We have beaten Brum during the JDT era when in all honesty they played us off the park.
  11. I have seen a report Waggott was seen looking discomforted by a Waggott Out sign in the Jack Walker stand. That said RoversTV wasn't showing anything of the Directors' Boxes beyond an "oh look, there's John Eustace" just after kick off and the camera had moved away before I had chance to look up and see the picture of him. I really do think the day trip to Pune has been discredited BUT as has been pointed out, if they can make Zoom work better than they can file registrations, the meeting could have happened virtually. Certainly in the JDT v Swag muscle contest, there was definitely a point at which Swag was losing as evidenced by JDT taking charge v QPR so Swag has swung the Raos back into his corner at some point last week.
  12. Been looking at press and video coverage of Swag in this somewhat eventful week and I am struggling to find the gap of sufficient time for him to have made the trip to Pune, had the meeting and got back. I did a day trip to Memphis once but that involved the best part of three days from leaving my London office to getting back to my desk.
  13. Worth recalling that Broughton has said very clearly that his job has always been to have a succession plan for all positions he is responsible for. The speed of the Eustace appointment reflects that. And other than possible Swag sabotage, as far as I am aware there was no plan on either side for JDT to leave so soon until the McGuire cock-up. Not all was rosy in the garden and there was a serious problem but not with JDT directly beyond the long running antipathy JDT/Swag which was manageable. Eustace could be a very good addition but Swag remains a massive problem. And then there is the Rao family who apparently are not all singing from the same hymn sheet and at least one of whom intervened very directly 9 days ago if certain leaks are to be believed. If true, Swag is unlikely to be CEO beyond the end of the season.
  14. Yes definitely need to get Dolan signed up.
  15. Well done RoversTV for a long lingering look at the Waggott Out banner! No passing it about at the back or short corners and possession dropped from the 60% norm to under 40%. The direct stuff lead to the third goal but would we have been going so direct without Gally restored to centre forward after such a long lay-off. Hedges, Brittain and Chrisene were all excellent but JRC slightly less influential than I would have hoped for. Really pleased with McFazdean and O'Reardon looked promising in his short cameo at the end. Great to put another 2 points between QPR and ourselves and for Eustace, a nice selection headache forTuesday.
  16. Eustace is a Stoke City squad player after the Champions League winner. Good luck John- we all need you to have the luck JDT didn't get. Massive baptism of fire walking into a dressing room in an edge of relegation six pointer after no time with the players.
  17. Devastated to see JDT leave despite the departure being so protracted. From the moment he got gagged from talking to the press before the QPR game, we all knew he was being elbowed out. What a thoroughly classy man. Brilliant communicator and passionate football coach. I used to look forward to JDT's pressers just to hear the way he spoke in what is, let's not forget, his 5th language. And yes he gave us all a glimpse of what Rovers could and. should become in both the league and cups. The highlight for me was the West Ham penalty shoot out- I would never in a million years believe 10 Rovers players could take 10 such brilliant penalties! He had a vision and a project cruelly destroyed by Venky's again reaping the results of their idiocy a dozen years ago and a CEO who is so far below the standards and professionalism set by JDT that he is worse than an earthworm to JDT's eagle.
  18. Oh my goodness! I had forgotten football clubs were supposed to play football.
  19. Everything and any possible permutation of personnel at the top is possible right now. Headless chickens in the chicken coop is my best guess.
  20. Nope, their record of charitable giving and evidence of wealth plus testimonials including banking referenced, police records and other things were and are part of the test.
  21. According to Scudamore, the then CEO of the PL, the Raos passed fit and proper better than any other new owner. Given fit and proper did not include questions such as 1) what do you know about football? 2) who is advising you? 3) is there a wannabe playboy in the family who wants a new toy? I can say with extensive corroboraion of Richard Scudamore's comment that Raos did indeed shine in the fit and proper examination. I come back to the following fundamentals - the Raos are in the small multi billionaire class so what possessed them to apparently fraudulently mis classify a property and a birthday party in their filings in India back in 2011? - the entire shit show that is Rovers 2023/24 stems from what the Raos apparently signed off in 2011. This mess is as personal to them as the decision to rely on Jerome Anderson and the total destruction of the club as a Premier League operation as a consequence.
  22. I fully expected JDT to be gone today and as I go off to bed it hasn't happened. Now anything could happen. We know Waggott wants JDT gone. Suhail apparently has a hand in this. Nobody knows if Mr and Mrs Desai and the two Rao brothers want JDT to leave.
