Fulham won their previous game 8-0 so was expecting a real hammering. Well that bit was right but we didn't get hammered.

2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

Going to whisper this but what if the Pasha revolution actually works? The £10k straitjacket hasn't prevented a bunch of signings which have reduced average age and are in the let's see if this works out category. Different refs and those Baggies and Brum performances would have produced different results but can't argue we weren't competitive with two promotion favourites while we put trundlers Hull to the sword. Ismael got Barnsley into the play offs and if he gets a tune out of Cantwell... £1m for Buckley (who in all fairness 3 years ago looked to be the club's future) proves there are feathered members of the porcine family. As for Wrexham possibly paying £4m for Trav.. Well there had to be a reason why a deal to Derby that was nearly done ten days ago remains nearly done. Is Eustace going to sack Derby now? -

If you look at the left edge of box camera angle, Hedges shot was going a long way wide and Yuki times his run from an onside position perfectly to get the totally accidental on purpose belly rub of the ball. -
Nguomah got poached by Liverpool from Chelsea academy which slightly lessens the pain of Chelsea taking a 13 year old from us for a million.

Or even word escaping from Brockhall in July that was Tavaeres was a horribly useless signing... -

Terrifying that this game doesn't make the cut for the past encounters table: Even more terrifying that Chris Sutton was playing central defence for Norwich And that Rovers replaced Norwich at the top of the Premier League table at 5 o-clock that afternoon. -

Random musings. We can blow Wodz out of the water in transfer dealings even under Pasha restrictions if we want to. Buckingham is the Saudi Manager, Buckley is that rarely, a Rovers player under contract, so some sort of transfer fee is possible. Henriksson collected yellow cards at his former club for fun with the odd red for a bit of variety .It worried me how he disappeared from the game at WBA after the ref had a word about his persistent fouling. Seems a bit uncoordinated physically from the evidence to date. I wouldn't bet against us screwing outgoings as badly as incomings with Buckley, Travis, Pears and Leonard Rovers players this time next week. I find it amusing to see the same people rightly decrying January slumps and extremely weak Rovers benches currently saying we have too many CMs etc. I like the idea we potentially have extreme competition for places. -

International break coming up if he can get a training ground knock to avoid having to go to Japan. My wife is over there currently and it's a 16 hour flight avoiding conflict zones.. -

Yes Hedges had a good all round performance and took his goal expertly. BUT He did miss two other chances he should have scored from AND He had screwed his shot well wide from Todd's sensational reversed free kick until Ohashi's tummy saved his blushes. Incidentally the sight of Yuki berating the 4th Official about the Hull scoreboard will outlive even the memory of the 3-0 win! -
Wharton had an unimpressive game against Forest but he was still rated 5th best on the park. Not often noted but his passing accuracy and tackling stats are almost super human every match.

Dolan has fantastic feet when on the ball and can bamboozle most defenders. Being a deceptively slow runner will always limit him. Problem at Rovers was his lack of a football brain in reading the game or seizing those split second opportunities his skilful manipulation of the ball regularly present which I think is why the Dolan detractors find so frustrating and decry him as a footballer. It could be good coaching and a different style of league could sort out the head stuff for Dolan. We were worthy winners against Elche in their backyard a month ago and Espanyol are very much the same level of outfit. I think Dolan has a decent chance of winning and holding a starting place in Barcelona.

Sergeant arguably the best striker in the division as has been pointed out. The rest of Norwich not clicking . yet. Let's keep it that way. If they do play as they are capable of this will be as challenging as our first two games. So I expect us to be competitive but the result a three way evens bet between the three possible outcomes. -

Got to remember how Hyam arrived with club and player taking advantage of a striken Coventry. Unlike Travis and Tronstad, he has been offered a contract renewal. He is more likely to move to Watford this week than not. -

Don't forget to knock off 30% from transfer fees incoming for agent and player cuts... That gets paid upfront and the fee itself usually is paid in installments with some elements of contingency (add ons) -
Wharton doesn't hide. Opposition teams avoid playing near him and Adam has the self-discipline not to leave the centre of the park which is his territory.

The total Legia wage bill is less than 40% that of Rovers so there is probably a lot of scope to pay Morishita a significant wage rise and keep under the club's newly imposed 10k per week maximum. Pasha's attitude towards players is that they are commodities so anything is possible this week. -
How did our keeper get a straight red in the 97th minute?

Yes, Cantwell way above the level of every other player on the pitch. Great to see Tronstad back to his usual self too. Having watched a chunk of Hull v Oxford last week, they were actually much better against us and cut out the mistakes and amount of ball give aways - seriously! We were in control from the kick off. Hull had a good two minutes when Toth made three decent saves- one to prevent an og - but otherwise that was a completely dominant Rovers performance. We were relatively clinical in front of goal and as others have said, a 5 goal scoreline wouldn't have flattered us. Liked Tavaeres and Aliboisu while Montgomery and Hentiksson fitted in well when they came on. Gueye needs the offside rule explaining to him because his running was stupid. As for the ref- he was a total homer yet even managed to rankle the Hull fans into singing you are not fit to referee. Two moments not yet been mentioned by other posters- I didn't see it in real time but the camera replays spotted Rovers should have had a first half penalty and then in the 44th minute he twice got into such bad positions not watching the game flow he was hit by Rovers forward passes which were probable goal scoring opportunities. And yes Lungstrom was a red in the 46th minute but not given. -

"suitors for Ainsley Pears are less public". Yes I burst out laughing at that line. I will have to remember my chances of competing at the next World Cup are less public... -

All 3 results are equal probability. Going to come down to who is set up best and wants it most. Hull have ground out two decent results so far so a big test for Ismael. -

Apparently there is a story about Hull having to play the club cat against us because of an injury crisis behind a paywall somewhere... -
Not surprised he is more suited to La Liga than the Championship although his tricks are perhaps more likely to result in a career ending tackle cum gbh assault. At least Ramos has retired...
