  1. Been reading the local Derby paper and it looks like a frying pan to the flaming furnace jump by Eustace. Things must be in an absolutely horrendous state at Ewood today and far worse than is remotely on the public eye.
  2. Dougan transfer request on the eve of the FA Cup Final against Wolves. Eustace resigns on the morning of the FA Cup tie against Wolves?
  3. https://x.com/i/status/1888513177245081989 In his BBC interview, JE had multiple opportunities to answer on behalf of the club and on every occasion he puts distance between him and the club. No way should any CEO allow such. a situation to occur (AGAIN). SWAG is an abject failure.
  4. If it is any consolation, every time I have bought a Rovers TV match subscription, we have lost except Dingles and Preston away- I am not buying one today.
  5. Lee Carsley to Rovers? Two pointers- it is a 3 from 8 scrap at the bottom including Swansea who are also in free fall. I wouldn't rate the Derby squad as better than any of the other 7 so survival even for JE is far from a foregone conclusion and he cannot bring anyone in. - Derby have also had their transfer ban woes and I think have a suspended sentence hanging over them. So while far from a done deal that he is staying, I would say it is not automatic that he is going to Derby. There must be other clubs on the point of firing managers in a better position than Derby who would tap up an open to offers Eustace.
  6. Disappointed Markanday didn't get on for Orient. Watched (suffered) the Accy Wimbledon goalless draw in which Accy dragged the Dons down to their level. Lots of shots high wide and ugly, can't remember anything on target. Batty was good tackling and the best passer on the pitch. A bit slow even at this level getting back and seemed to be asked to play as the out ball option at set pieces given the size of several Wimbledon players.
  7. This is a play off 6 pointer and we seem to raise our game under Eustace in these sorts of games. Based on what I have seen of West Brom against Plymouth and Sheffield Wednesday, we should be able to defend against their players which pose threats, none less than Adam Armstrong who has just scored a delightfully guided left footer against Wednesday. The two wide attackers were dropped to the bench after the Plymouth defeat. The Albion defence can be got at and will be without Kyle Bartley who was sent off after the final whistle with a straight red for violent conduct.
  8. To the extent the new signings are serious, we will be taking this seriously. Wolves are likely to have a second eleven out which even so will be an extremely tough test seeing as they are an established PL side.
  9. I gave this prompt to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude: which senior professional footballer should blackburn rovers omit from naming in the 25 man squad registered? One answered Szmodics (very AI) but they all suggested Adam Forshaw based on age, rating and lack of game time.
  10. It looked like Trav was following management orders as skipper taking control of the ball and calling up the penalty taker for the two penalties I saw in real time. The enthusiasm to take the penalties suggests they have been practicing and feel really confident.
  11. The QPR defenders were monsters and they were all up so there were too many big lads to mark for their opener. Gueye didn't look unusually large last night and was battling to win aerial balls he usually wins almost uncontested. QPR slaughtered us in the aerial duels statistics.
  12. Now these need sorting.
  13. We are missing this lad badly. He would have got into positions Gueye was demanding Weimann to have been in but Andy no longer quite has it toake the speculative runs Yuki makes.
  14. I really like this guy approach to the game . Demands a lot of himself and others around him. And he can play a bit too.
  15. Looks quick from last night's cameo. Wolves have seriously quick players so let's see how he measures up on Sunday.
  16. Can understand why Dennis was last minute but Kargbo should have been at Ewood 2nd January if not last summer.
  17. I think only Prenton Park has a pitch as bad as that in all.the football league. That said, fair play to Qpr. They were the better side and Rovers turned up. Very rarely that has happened this season. Kargbo looks very promising and should have come on 20 minutes earlier. That run through the mud past 4 players at the end is hopefully a sign of things to come. Great Dolan penalty but what a dumb foul that led to their opener. Not ideal but two players off places up for grabs and I would rather be in our place than the other 9 in the pack
  18. Likelihood is Kargbo and Ribeiro get a Wolves start so they will have to have shown extremely well in training to be starting at Loftus Road. Despite the injury situation only slightly abating, QPR management will be guessing about our starting line up as much as we are. Do or die game for Buckley who has been improving with game time but needs a big performance to give JE pause before putting Tronstad straight back in later this month. Whether they are on the field, the bench or behind it, the new signings should be concentrating minds of every player getting the nod tonight.
  19. Forgot Weimann! Eustace asked for bodies, he got bodies. Remains to be seen how much breath there is in them.
  20. I would omit Forshaw from the registered 25. Harsh but that's life. No way is he better than Sigurdsson. Ohashi, Gueye, Dolan, Hedges, Leonard, Cantwell, Sigurdsson, Woodrow, Kargbo, Dennis with JRC, Beck and Buckley as options and Tyjon and Gilsenan when fit. 16 players vying for the forward 3 plus 1. Can't complain about a lack of bodies. Whether there are many goals there is another question.
  21. This window is very bad news for teenagers sitting on the bench. Difficult to make any other judgement but I hope Kargbo and Dennis fitness levels are where they need to be and the increased competition for places works effectively. JE has generally been very good deploying subs. That aspect of his decision making has just got more challenging. The Wolves line up is going to be interesting...
