Ok let me say publicly I am keen on becoming Rovers head coach and if anyone is reading this, please count me as the 151st applicant for the job. cf. Boateng

I am very strongly of the view Kargbo should start but that is a tackling from the front with high press side. Whatever the caretaker management of Swansea does, they don't have players who can reliably handle those sorts of tactics. My concern is we are relying on them making mistakes more than us creating goals and we are not giving ourselves enough time at 0-0 or losing 1-0 to.go win it from the bench.

Watching the Bristol City Middlesbrough game and neither of these sides look serious contenders and are making basic1 errors all over the park. Boro ahead 1-0 and this far frustrating the Bristol City bid for 6th tonight.

I am far more concerned it is Karanka. Always thought there was a high chance it would be. Would far rather have Duff.

A throw away line in Lowe's interview yesterday was we will have to check the injuries. Sounds ominously like new injuries we don't know about. Lowe effectively said he has concentrated on Rovers because we have no idea what the interim Swansea management will do. I hope he has done better than that and has used his experience of stepping into the hot seat to think through what he would do if he were in the same position at Swansea using their players. One thing is for sure. Whereas at Rovers it was simply a matter of playing Eustaceball better, at Swansea the last thing you want to be doing is more of the same which lost 8 of the last 10 fixtures. Something I feel very strongly about is playing Kargbo from the start. Getting him running at them should disrupt any plans and need a hasty redeployment of forces at which point the Swansea players will have been coached into the sacked boss system, trying to play the new way introduced from Wednesday and getting touchline instructions to do something else again. If that's not a recipe for a Rovers field day, I don't know what is.

The thing which is striking is how weak and ineffectual the Venkys men have been at Ewood. From letting Anderson run rioteven in the waning days to the farce of being in Court against their own chairman to the stupidity over Warnock and Coyle to wars with Broughton and JDT then JE and now the continuous leaks of disagreement with Swag and Gestede, anyone would think they are powerless.... -
Play offs - hypothetical scenario

Has to be a Lancy take-over of North London. -
As someone who has made senior appointments and looking at how quickly/slowly other clubs make appointments, this is not protracted. The cost of getting a senior appointment wrong is enormous and the band aid in the meantime is holding 100%. The issue is not how long it is taking, it is the clowns who are making the decision.
-
Two things worth pointing out. 1. the bookies list isn't any one of the various Gestede/Waggott/Pune puppet lists (yes lists- they don't agree on anything between themselves) 2. Warnock regards the Rovers set-up with utter disgust and distrust after he had accepted the job at Ewood, the guy he was dealing with went on holiday and Coyle was appointed

Very interesting one if true. Karanka unfortunately ticks all the boxes. Known to Gestede Almost unemployable So desperate he won't kick up a fuss about half the squad leaving in summer

Whoever comes in is either supremely confident in his ability to take us up or a desperate fool. Perhaps both!

Preston and Millwall play-off mutual destruction last night. Need 6 points and goal difference swing and to get past 8 clubs in the way to reach 6th. The BBC was showing the table 6th to 15th last night as though we have 5th already sewn up- if only!
-
Sadly the case apparently. There are no reassurances about contract renewals or transfer spend availability or Category A status.

Dolan is also different from your run of the mill Championship pro. Always willing to try something different. Haters hate him for losing the ball when doing his tricks. Football commentators love him for relieving the tedium of their job.
-
Part of the incompetence is the division of opinions not only between Eustace and the administration but also between themselves. Apparently there is mutual dislike between Suhail, Waggott and others. That said the long term dissatisfaction of Eustace would only be unknown if the warring administrators has convinced themselves he wasn't serious. I believe the process for the new appointment is further ahead then Bayes is reporting but his report gives them cover for a delay while they disagree between themselves and with Pune.

Should have got on Wicki at 20/1. Looking increasingly likely as the loons are not meeting O'Neil's conditions of supporting the club. If they didn't support JDT and JE, why would they support someone who isn't in post?

Are the Doherty's related?

Just watched extended highlights of Swansea's last two games and it is hard to detect any particular style beyond all purpose Championship level fitness, robustness and skill level. Front play is opportunistic at best so if we keep our discipline we should be able to handle them in defence. They are not the tallest except for the two central defenders so this is a must start for Gueye. They look vulnerable on the flanks so will be very disappointed not to see Kargbo starting. They also make mistakes in their passing so the high press is called for. Despite Forshaw scoring and being very tidy against Plymouth, I would opt for the greater range of passing of Buckley for this one but would having Cantwell on the pitch as well risk playing two error-prone lightweights? Swansea look like they snap into the tackles. It is the Norwich game when we can expect Carter, Tronstad and Ohashi all in contention (and Beck, Batth and Dennis?) so the selection shouldn't be too taxing for Lowe's (last?) game in charge.

If we are in the play offs and Burnley need us to beat Sheffield United, I'd pick the team from the girls under 15s squad.
-
After tonight's Preston v Millwall, one club, possibly two, will no longer be in play-off contention.

Just like with JDT, JE is a pure football guy who found what passes for Rovers behind the scenes hard to stomach. Assurances weren't kept in the summer and the break down between him and the club was on the slow boil all this season. I am grateful to Eustace for 1) being in charge of coaching the squad so expertly to produce an unexpected play-off chase 2) probably giving us two new manager bounces at a critical part of the season (Lowe and the new guy) 3) 3 points at Derby- surely self Pride is going to have the lads absolutely flying at pride park
