  1. The Walker Family was at war with each and against their advisors in the High Court. Rovers were just a cash absorbing chattel to the family members. Some Trustees. John Williams and Tom Finn were absolute heroes in those sad circumstances but any concept of strategic thinking and planning was totally binned in those black days.
  2. So here we are less than 50 hours from a home game at the end of the New Year holidays and no thread. The Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday "performances" were so bad the Blackburn jury has rung in sick - or is too apathetic to even pick up the mobile. After showing signs of life, Rovers have turned in two absolute horror shows of no energy rubbish rivalled only by the horror show offered up in the 3-0 defeat at.. Charlton. After being depressed beyond description I ventured to watch the second half of Charlton v Coventry and to depress us even further, Charlton should have got a similar scoreline in their favour as they did against us. Coventry got very lucky as Charlton overran them in the way they did to us at the Valley early in the season. Having said that, Kaminsky was outstanding the couple of times he needed to be involved (twice more than against us), Ama'ari Bell was a rock against Hadji Wright and Sims while MoM and goal scorer was JRC who had the sort of sensational game he used to have for us every so often. Oh boy, are we going to have our transfer dealings rubbed into the Ewood mud on Sunday! Impossible to see anything except a really humiliating defeat.
  3. I have a lot of interaction with India and their confidence and optimism about the country is enormous. In dollar terms Indian GDP is about 10% bigger than the UK now and accelerating away. On purchasing power parity India is 4 times bigger than the UK which in practical terms means over 300 million middle class Indians have a quality of life better than middle class Blackburnians.
  4. They are not going. Pune might be a city of 5 million but in reality it is a village of a few billionaire families who watch each other like hawks with petty jealousy. That is the millieu that matters to our owners. Any embarrassment at relegation or forking out £20m per year is long gone. Instead in Pune and indeed in India they are the only family living there who have outright control of an English football club and in a town where Empire was most visible in causing distress in India. (Why else did Gandhi come to Darwen?). Not being in the Premier League doesn't matter and in fact I am convinced the Premier League was the only sports body ever to call them to account no matter how half heartedly. There would have been hell to pay if Kean hadn't achieved the objective of getting us relegated when he did. The loss of face in divestment of Rovers would be far far more painful for them than the current pergatory.
  5. It is the repeated misjudgements and cock ups which are so draining. I get that he is here for damage limitation for the Raos but he is a one man demolition derby of balls ups. Not fit for purpose for them, for the business, for the football, for the town, for the fans, for anyone.
  6. Oh dear- the lack of energy and drive at Sheffield limped on to today. Surely Toth saves the first Wrexham goal. We are deep in the poo.
  7. Very exposed. The only game kicking off before 3pm anywhere. Lets see if Rovers TV are allowed to show it. Wrexham will force a higher energy performance from us than we put on at Hillsborough- either that or we get utterly humiliated.
  8. You can argue that he puts up with (or is party to) far too much backroom crap. But given the hand he holds, he is at worst only so-so as a First Team Coach. Has good days and bad days but he isn't stubborn when things don't work. It is that flexibility that is his saving grace.
  9. 15 years on and the next generation is increasingly important. I have absolutely no sense of how the Rao offspring view the Rovers.
  10. We nearly and would have deservedly won at their place not that long ago.
  11. Any news on the Kieffer Moore injury on Boxing Day? He was taken off in the first half.
  12. Based on the first half of the season, we are far more likely to get points from those games!
  13. Not entirely true. Ignoring Cantwell's half dozen shots either wide of the posts or straight at Charles, Ohashi had 3 straightforward chances from which Gudjohnsen would certainly have scored at least one without being either the second coming of Shearer or Rhodes. He would just need to be the 7 goals in 17 appearances Andre Gudjohnsen which is his Rovers track record.
  14. Well that pathetic point at Hillsborough increased the gap to 22nd and 23rd.
  15. Rovers played that game so slowly, most of the message board could have put a gold shirt on and not been embarrassed.
  16. Well that made a striker the only priority for this window
  17. Gudjonsson being injured has probably cost us 4 points in the last two games but we really missed the dynamism of Morishita tonight. Tronstad red mist after reading too many Revidge Blue posts..
  18. This is all about our mentality and set up. Need high energy and press from the start and to quieten their crowd. If we let them get their tails up we are inviting trouble. Ordinarily there would be 3,000+ travelling Rovers fans for this game so those who are there are going to have to make twice as much noise!
  19. Is there some seriously bad news about Carter and/or Wharton not in the public domain?
  20. I hope he is prickly upwards as he is outwards. I suspect he is. Still a parson's egg so far despite the rum hand he has been given by both Pasha/Venky's, the weather Gods and the fates. Some stonking good performances away from Ewood mixed in with real horror shows at Charlton and second half at Portsmouth in particular. I know people who are much closer to the club than me don't like him but I find him refreshing after Eustace's media appearances. Huge amount depends on what happens in the next ten weeks. A shit show of a window which net weakens the squad and includes a 31 January sale of Tronstad for a can of baked beans plus a standard Jan/Feb Rovers slump and toxicity will be off the scale.
  21. Really chuffed for him doing so well at Espanyol who are having a cracking season very comfortably tucked into 5th place.
  22. This is a seriously weird thread about a very good point picked up at Boro. Would have been three with a fit Gudjohnson.
  23. Why do the words piss-up and brewery seem inextricably linked to Blackburn and Rovers?
  24. That is a relief that there is no basis in Dykes- he is mostly garbage. I would drop McLaughlen before dropping Pratt or Miller for the return of any of Wharton, O'Riordan and especially Carter. With regards to that Pululu video, quality of opposition or lack of.
  25. We can easily forget that so many of our youngsters have lost a year or more to serious injuries. I tend not to look at the ages of our Academy graduates. Scott Wharton is still a promising youngster in my mind yet he is 28.
