You haven't seen us play then mate. One of the main criticisms is that we are too soft, not enough natural aggression. That was a real frustration at your place - we simply let you bully us and rolled over.

Our decision making at times is atrocious. I actually laughed when we had a free kick in a decent position in the second half, sent the centre halves up, loaded the box then contrived to knock it back to Pickering some thirty yards who unsettled a couple of pigeons nesting high up in the Blackburn End with an awful shot. What goes through players minds to do something so stupid.

After the awful transfer window and incompetence we showed last week I was honestly ambivalent towards the draw tonight. Of course I wanted to win but not doing so doesn't hurt as much as usual. In other words the stuffing was knocked out of me by Broughton and his chums. I was thinking that tonight would have been ideal for a Lewis O'Brien, a box to box forceful midfielder but thanks to their ineptitude he isn't our player. I don't like singling players out for criticism but Brereton was shocking tonight. He really did roll back the years. It's another huge error not trying to shift him out. He was coasting tonight, clearly trying to avoid injury. One incident had me raging in the second half when he hadn't the bollocks to go in for a challenge and ending up cowardly kicking a Wigan player and was rightly booked. We are stuck with him now. Pears was fine but I was puzzled as to how many times he kicked it long compared to Kaminski. Was he told to or did he do it off his own volition (I'm not complaining by the way). The only real positive was a clean sheet.

If I remember correctly it was stew ππ. Even yesterday Catherine said to her sister "I think I might have singed one of your crocheted blankets" after she smothered the blazing Tommy Lee Royce with it. Brilliant.

Excellent writing and acting. The scene in the cafe with Catherine (Sarah Lancashire) and her sister Clare (Siobhan Finneran) was one of the best bits of television I have ever seen.

The timing and content makes me suspicious. Last week he said he didn't think the appeal to the EFL would be successful. -

It is - I never said otherwise. It's the timing of this article which I was questioning. -

Classic diversion and distraction tactic from Broughton here. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/sheffield-united-transfer-haunts-blackburn-26165804 We don't hear from him for months, something he accepts responsibility for goes belly up and he talks about a player he wanted to sign in the Summer. They insult our intelligence. -
It's interesting that they talk about relegation as a punishment but the EFL are not obliged to take them is my understanding. Northern Premier League might though.

At least it would be a crash for cash. π -
This could be a real game changer for English football. There has always been a suspicion about City (amongst others) and hopefully any wrongdoings will be suitability and proportionately punished. I'd imagine a few others are twitching right now.

It seems Broughton's charm offensive has taken the heat away for a while looking at the LT article. The distraction of a game tonight has helped but if that appeal fails tomorrow then we need to be told the absolute truth. No flowery salesman patter, just the honest truth and if there is negligence on anybody's part they have to be dealt with. -
As of this morning Wigan have sold around 2,500 tickets.

Alan Shearer?

That's a rich thing to say Joe. Having played at the top level doesn't make you a man who knows football better than anybody. That's the arrogant perception amongst a lot of players and managers who believe because you haven't played professionally you don't know the game. The best pupils don't make the best teachers.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
arbitro replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I mentioned something similar the other day. How many players have we seen any discernible improvement in? But to counter that I can't think think of many who look comfortable in the style that Tomasson has generally wanted us to play is a progressive, passing game. There have been glimpses in games but by and large I would say none. -
After the devastation last week involving Broughton, Swag and Sylvester it will be good to watch a game of football involving Rovers. The players and coaching staff are like us supporters here, they watched from the sidelines as the dysfunction followed. So f*** the three of them, hopefully they will be gone soon. It's down to results now and hopefully the people that really matter can deliver.

Burnley scoring from corners? You footballing purists won't be happy with that. ππ

Norwich v Dingles today. My real hope is that Hanley smashes the slug that is Barnes into the middle of next week.

If O'Brien is on a reported Β£45k and we had him for five months it would have cost around Β£900k in wages alone if the reports of us paying his full wage are true. Broughton's halo is beginning to slip. -

Some quotes from Rochdale about the aborted Brierley transfer. The most telling one is: However, due to various issues at Roversβ end, the paperwork was not submitted on time https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/23298903.blackburn-rovers-rochdale-provide-ethan-brierley-update/
