  1. Well done mate. Please encourage others to do the same. If I dont hear back from them I will be writing again asking the same questions. I would also like to hear from Waggott who should be putting his weight behind this and backing us.
  2. https://www.efl.com/contact-form/ Can I recommend that you take a few minutes to complain to the EFL and ask for an explanation. Under their Supporters Charter you are perfectly entitled to do so.
  3. Any enquiry by the EFL should include some Rovers representation, ideally a supporter. This will ensure that there is no cover up from anybody. As it is they are happy to mark their own homework whilst doing so encouraging criticism and mistrust from decent, honest people.
  4. Can I suggest that anybody disaffected by today's farcical postponement puts it in writing to the EFL through this link? https://www.efl.com/contact-form/ The more people that write the stronger a case can be made. At the very least it enables you to let off a bit of controlled steam. Hopefully the powers that be at Ewood are asking tough questions and won't be fobbed off by bullshit.
  5. You are right but that's a completely different debate.
  6. Injuries should not be a factor in this particular situation as it should solely be Covid related. I have never heard of a team having a game called off for injuries apart from Middlesbrough not turning up at Ewood in the late nineties. It's simple. Test players on match days a few hours earlier than they are doing now. Burnley had two games off recently in similar circumstances to ours today but testing earlier could have led to a much earlier decision.
  7. They did it because the EFL allows them to do it with their rules. There have been many games called off in similar situations but the clubs involved are simply being compliant. Testing at 10.30 is too late when you consider the results have be sent to the EFL who make the decision. If the players had been tested today at 8 am this (and other) situations could have been avoided.
  8. What a stupid thing to say. Typical of somebody who doesn't have to leave his front room to watch a game. Grow up.
  9. I really don't understand why people are angry with Hull. They have complied with the rules as they are laid out. The blame lies completely with the EFL who have allowed this farcical situation to arise without a single thought for the fans. This postponement will cost Hull a lot of money through lost programme sales, corporate and hospitality cancellations, wasted food and my understanding is that the police need four hours notice to cancel their services.
  10. Just back home after turning round at Huddersfield. I can't quite understand a process which is far more detrimental than it is helpful. Who on earth allows the testing regime to be left so late that it leaves thousands of people frustrated and out of pocket? Ian absolute nonsense and the people who bear the brunt of this are the fans. It has been clear for some time now that the authorities couldn't care less about the fans and this farce just reinforces that view. The late postponements have had an effect on hundreds of thousands of fans recently and still clubs are allowed to test their players too late to prevent supporters travelling unnecessarily. The footballing authorities in this country are a disgrace and absolutely not fit for purpose.
  11. Luton and Coventry at home, Huddersfield and Blackpool away are stark reminders to me what can go wrong. I don't believe I'm negative but more of a pragmatist. However you are correct, one game at a time (Sweet Jesus).
  12. I sense over confidence amongst many supporters too. The most important thing however is that the players don't fall into this trap and situations like this are when good managers can earn their corn. My inherent worry is that a game goes awry and Mowbray reverts to type by making unnecessary changes to the team and shape.
  13. Andy Bayes sums up Rovers half season well in this Championship review. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59756997
  14. As evidenced last weekend VAR (or rather the people using it) is as bad as ever. I counted at least six major incidents last week that were clear and obvious errors by the on field referee but the VAR didn't even advise an pitch side review. And cheating is far more prevalent in the PL although it does go on in the EFL.
  15. I was chatting to a lady who has a daughter in the same swimming class as my granddaughter and interestingly she said her husband and father-in-law, both long standing season ticket holders at Burnley will be happy to get relegated. I was initially surprised but the more I thought about it the more I could see their point. VAR, sanitised no contact football, cheating, disproportionately affected games and many more things were in my mind and no doubt theirs too. My main driver for us going up is I want us to get shut of our wretched owners and promotion is the only way in my view but that aside the Championship is far better suited to my footballing needs. Is this a general feeling amongst Burnley fans?
  16. Burnley v Everton is now off 24 hours after a request by Everton to call it off was overturned. Does Boris run the PL? Burnley are now four games behind their schedule and with a relatively small squad it will really hamper them.
  17. Whilst I am really enjoying the current run at the back of my mind is that Mowbray has previous for goods runs, getting our hopes up and then crashing and burning. In a really perverse way the Fulham drubbing was the turning point and reading Lenihans comments yesterday it seems the players asked a lot of questions about themselves. There was a resolve, determination and commitment in the Sheffield United match that I haven't seen for years at Ewood and I'm delighted to say that hasn't abated. The bigger picture though from the managers perspective is will he be offered a new deal. My feeling was the powers that be were happy to be mid table and that would be some justification for not offering him a new deal. Our over achieving thus far has given them a real dilemma. I can't forget the tinkering, constant changing of philosophies, weird substitutions and nonsensical interviews over the piece of his tenure to be swung by the current run.
  18. I was at Accrington Stanley earlier this season and at half time spoke to a bloke who had been hit by a flare thrown by some dickhead. He has a burn on his leg and red dye all over his shorts. He didn't think they were harmless.
  19. I have just watched Blackburn Sings Christmas with Gareth Malone. An obvious bit of bias but I found it so enjoyable seeing local people so proud of their surroundings and community. The programme centred around Covid, the effect on the community and the wonderful NHS. Well done to everyone involved - you all did Blackburn and the local area proud.
  20. Merry Christmas to Rovers fans everywhere and especially to the moderators of this site for the hard work they do.
  21. And of course the season is due to finish earlier than normal because of next season's early start to accommodate the World next which gives the clubs falling behind an extra headache where to fit the games in. The integrity of each competition could be brought into question.
  22. It's Preston who have requested the game be called off. After this mornings round of testing it looks like there have been a significant number of positive results shown. Two PL games have also gone bringing the total number of games cancelled in the EFL and PL to 16.
  23. Two Premier League games bite the dust. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59770658
  24. Nobbers Boxing Day game against Sheffield United called off due to positive Covid tests. I expect there to be a lot more games off in the next couple of days.
