  1. I mentioned something similar the other day. How many players have we seen any discernible improvement in? But to counter that I can't think think of many who look comfortable in the style that Tomasson has generally wanted us to play is a progressive, passing game. There have been glimpses in games but by and large I would say none.
  2. After the devastation last week involving Broughton, Swag and Sylvester it will be good to watch a game of football involving Rovers. The players and coaching staff are like us supporters here, they watched from the sidelines as the dysfunction followed. So f*** the three of them, hopefully they will be gone soon. It's down to results now and hopefully the people that really matter can deliver.
  3. Welsh? Hasn't our HoR got a connection to the FAW in his most recent job?
  4. Lest we forget..... https://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/apr/29/blackburn-rovers-unfair-dismissal-henning-berg
  5. Burnley scoring from corners? You footballing purists won't be happy with that. 😂😂
  6. As opposed to pointing at a plane 😉
  7. Norwich v Dingles today. My real hope is that Hanley smashes the slug that is Barnes into the middle of next week.
  8. If O'Brien is on a reported £45k and we had him for five months it would have cost around £900k in wages alone if the reports of us paying his full wage are true. Broughton's halo is beginning to slip.
  9. Martyrdom in a football sense. Saint Gregg.
  10. Some quotes from Rochdale about the aborted Brierley transfer. The most telling one is: However, due to various issues at Rovers’ end, the paperwork was not submitted on time https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/23298903.blackburn-rovers-rochdale-provide-ethan-brierley-update/
  11. What does 'close' in this context mean? He had a medical, terms were agreed, was he 'in the building'? Or the cynic in me says that we spoke to a club or players representatives and an approach was made. The weren't interested. And that was it. It's all bullshit from the slippery tongue of Mr Responsible who, lets be honest has fallen at the first hurdle.
  12. Darwen are even taking the piss out of our incompetence.
  13. He got injured in one of the Premier Intercontinental Cup matches around in early November. He then came on as a sub against Man Utd in one of the most recent games but hasn't been seen since.
  14. For the life in me I couldn't see that happening.
  15. A cautious note from a while ago when a young lad tried to buy Aldershot. I remember it well and the demise of Aldershot was down to this. https://thefootballmine.com/2020/11/27/shot-to-pieces-the-strange-tale-of-spencer-trethewy/
  16. Another question about the O'Brien deal and the report of us paying his full wage of a reputed £45k weekly. What about this wage structure that the acolytes were banging on about which had allegedly been told to them by Swag. We were told that we couldn't pay Nyambe and Lenihan what they were after because it would break the 'wage structure'.
  17. The Rovers team was predominantly under 18 and the Peterborough team were bigger and stronger which certainly helped them win the game. We were really naive at times, understandable really. In fact it was almost a reversal the Celtic game where we looked bigger and stronger. I guess the thinking was give some of the youngsters a game against a better standard of player than they are used to given the game was a dead rubber.
  18. After the O'Brien situation which has understandably become the big talking point is our dealings and if you analyse them they are pitiful. Broughton just talked about players we were interested in, how we chased them but ultimately nothing doing. It's the same patter just coming out of a different mouth. We've heard it all before and it's really wearing a bit thin now. He has failed miserably in his first real challenge to improve us. Tomasson said don't waste a window. Well we have.
  19. I think that is where the medicals were held.
  20. I wish he would have elaborated on the actual process once the medical is done and terms agreed which to me is the difficult part. Collating, signing and sending the documents off should be the easy part. That is what is wholly unacceptable and we deserve better.
  21. I think it's a charm offensive from Broughton as he knows from the wealth of criticism this could be another watershed in the owners tenure such is the anger. Fair play he hasn't thrown anybody under the bus but his oft repeated 'my responsibility' comment (which he was at pains to stress) doesn't wash with me. I think the arse covering amongst the guilty parties has already begun and hopefully these will be weeded out and summarily dismissed. Whichever way it is viewed there has been a basic but almighty error. His comment that he doesn't think we will win an appeal is telling in my view.
  22. In the email I sent I told him that, as CEO he should be considering his position.
  23. Keep that Gallows Humour coming - I have a feeling we are going to need lots of it over the coming weeks.
  24. How different is this to the Brereton deal in terms of the contracts? Brereton was here on loan until January when we were obligated to buy him so technically he was still a Forest player for the first six months of his deal. In the January his permanent Rovers contract would have been signed but would the detail of that contract have been agreed in August and submitted to the EFL? I genuinely don't know but it feels like there are some parallels and if so there should have been the requisite experience to deal with it.
