  1. On dear. The Rags are two down to Brighton after 40 minutes in the Theatre of Dreamers. Hen Taag (or whatever he is called) has the look of what the f*** am I doing here. Love it.
  2. Yep we definitely had some along the lines of 'I would rather lose than play that way' mentality.
  3. I disagree. The pass was perfect and the defender was close enough to Brereton but the quality of the pass took him out of the game. He read the flight of the ball perfectly and the touch off his chest was perfection. By definition if you make the pass that leads to a goal it's an assist irrespective of where the goal comes from. I'm not getting carried away by the way, I made reference to the fact it's only two games.
  4. So far this season Hedges has been a revelation (only two games I know) but I would argue that he is the most important player in the front four rotational system that JDT prefers. His athleticism is ideal for it and his pass to Brereton yesterday was exquisite. I was told he has the highest numbers of all the players in the fitness matrices in games and training. He also has three assists now.
  5. Thanks Ian. The most telling comment is that their style is easy to play against. I can see let of Championship managers adopting JDT's blueprint and Swansea being in the brown, smelly stuff.
  6. Because we chose to defend against a one dimensional team their manager and some supporters talk about us like we are a footballing Anti-Christ. This football snobbery is more prevalent now and drives me barmy. If Martin and his delusional acolytes don't understand that winning is the most important thing they are in the wrong business.
  7. This is the Ricoh Arena pitch which has caused the postponement of today's game against Rotherham. Hopefully Rotherham fans who have booked trains will be compensated. Surely they will have to re lay this to get it anywhere near the standard required. I don't see how a few Rugby sevens games could have caused this. Certainly it wouldn't have been helpful but plenty of clubs allow rugby on their pitches without these kind of issues.
  8. He is a Primark Pep. They did exactly the same in January when they were one up against us and they'd had a player sent off. They just defended the edge of their box, wasted time and there was general shithousery. After half an hour yesterday some home fans were booing their repetitive, non threatening and boring football. Listening to some comments from their fans walking back to the car they are definitely unhappy with this style of play.
  9. I have to say that Szomodics reminded me of Jamie Vardy. His build and his gait are really similar to those of Vardy and there is more than a passing resemblance in my view.
  10. It was almost the perfect away performance today as we showed resilience and, as Tomasson said we had a game plan and stuck to it. We stifled Swansea and allowed them lots of possession in their half but as soon as the crossed the half way line bang, we were all over them. And in transition we were extremely dangerous as proved by the goals. Probably the most pleasing aspect of the two games was how different we have been tactically but won both games. That's a great credit to Tomasson and his staff for coming up with the plans and the players for executing them, almost perfectly today if you read Tomasson's comments. I really have to commend the players fitness levels too and although we I didn't think we matched the QPR intensity levels they were still high. We have shown in two games an array of strengths that we had hardly seen for five years. It's refreshing to have confidence in our manager after enduring Mowbray with his ad hoc tactics. There's a long, long way to go but I'm so encouraged and enthused by what I've seen so far.
  11. Of course it can happen anywhere but in my view the 'bubble' has prevented widespread disorder and injury in what is specifically a powder keg situation. Unfortunately factions from both clubs cannot be trusted in this particular game. I don't understand the criminal element you mention. I have never felt that I was being treated like that - I fully understand the reasoning and agree with it. Of course there is a hassle factor with the arrangements but I consider it a one-off and accept it.
  12. I remember the case when it went to court. If I remember correctly the man who was assaulted was a dentist from Haslingden. Ironically he had a tooth (or teeth) knocked out. His crime was wearing a Rovers scarf.
  13. I really don't know Andy. I actually think it's the safest way of getting opposition supporters in and out. Whilst it's a pain in the arse I would rather do it than read about some poor Rovers or Burnley fans who have been attacked.
  14. If that story is correct then surely we can't risk Brereton on Saturday and have another Dack situation (against Wigan) whereby a big move is scuppered due to injury. That said I was surprised to see Szmodics start for Peterborough on Saturday with a move to us pending.
  15. A friend's son who is a bobby has told me that the 'bubble' will possibly not be in operation for both games this season. Apparently plans were going ahead to use it but it has been pointed out that it's a breach of human rights. He said talks are on going. Has anybody else heard similar?
  16. I think there is a price cap in the PL and £30 springs to mind. The initiative from Reading would have effectively been a price cap but when only three clubs replied clearly the others who died want to carry on fleecing us.
  17. Reading prices are capped at £20 but only if there is a reciprocal agreement. I can't post the link but they wrote to every Championship club proposing this and as of when the article appeared (July this year) only three clubs had replied. I'm pleased to say we were one of them. I sincerely hope these extortionate prices are held in Waggotts memory bank and he charges similar when they come up here.
  18. Tickets for Sheffield United have been announced today. Adult prices are £33. Bizarrely under 18 tickets are £15.40
  19. With the signings yesterday it's clear that Tomasson has a way of playing and is bringing players in to suit that. The rotating of the front four and the intensity he wants them to play at will be reflected in his team selection. If he doesn't feel they can then they simply won't play in my opinion. Dack may well be collateral damage in this but that's football and things move and evolve quickly. There are no free rides any more and the holiday camp mentality has gone. Tomasson is serious will be ruthless in my view. It's what most of us have been crying out for some time.
  20. I looked at going on the train but aside from the cost it's a pig of a journey primarily because the train stops at nearly every station en route. It's also a five plus hour drive. Still it's our first 3 o'clock kick off there for some time which eases the day slightly. 😄😄
  21. It appears there are many like minded Rovers fans. I got mine today and was told we have only sold around 300.
  22. I'm going to see my Shop Steward about this. If it's not resolved we will be balloting for strike action. 😂😂
  23. There was something romantic about the Vetch Field with a prison on one side and an army barracks on the other 😃. Russell Martin, the massively diluted version of Guardiola will hopefully still try and play out from the back with inadequate players which will really suit the preferred Tomasson formation. I'll be hugely disappointed if we don't get at least a point.
  24. And therein lies the problem. Young stewards will just not confront anybody who is deliberately using the wrong season ticket and in fairness I don't blame them. It needs a group of senior stewards manning several turnstiles randomly and rooting out the perpetrators.
  25. I can't speak for others but at Lincoln he was off the pace in the hour he played. Tomasson demands a high energy game from his front players which I don't think Dack can deliver yet. Given that he missed a chunk of pre season and not much playing time he is clearly behind the others in terms of fitness and that bit of sharpness. I'm certainly not writing him off and believe he will offer something but not just yet.
