Amidst lots of emotions today the overriding one was pride. It feels good to be a Rover again and the effort those players in blue and white put in today was phenomenal and my confidence and belief in the manager and what he is trying to do is high indeed. Today was probably the worst performance of the three so far was for me the most satisfying. A few injuries brought about some positional changes which under normal circumstances would have scared me but there is a different mentality amongst our players, a mentality brought and implemented by JDT. The supporters and play are certainly buying into this new era at Ewood and hopefully more will join the ranks of happy supporters soon. Well done to everyone with a Rovers connection at Ewood today.

No Butterworth either. It certainly looks like his days are numbered. Interestingly Jordan Eastham is on the bench having played for Lancaster yesterday.

Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

Mark Palios' take on the play or pay system. Tranmere Rovers have struck six loan deals this summer. According to the League Two club’s chairman, the former FA chief executive Mark Palios, the role lower-league clubs play in developing players remains vital. “The ability to play proper football in front of a paying crowd is missing at the top end of the game,” he says of the situation for younger players. “Proper use of experience in the football pyramid is essential and beneficial if managed properly. Not many others have a pyramid like ours and we’re fans of using it.” While Palios sees the greater good of the loan system, the list of complications are just as clear “Loans where a club insists the player plays are wrong from every point of view,” he says. “It’s wrong for the player – they have to earn their place as part of a learning process. For the club, it damages the dynamic in dressing room. Finally, from a fan’s perspective, there’s a sense that you’re basically relinquishing your independence if loanees are going to play come what may.” Palios says Tranmere don’t do such deals but have made arrangements whereby the loan club would pay a higher percentage of the player’s wages if he doesn’t play. He believes the game is not yet at a stage where parent clubs hold undue influence over those lower down the pyramid. “Nobody forces you to take a loan player; every club is entitled to do what it wants and what fits within its budget,” he says, but he acknowledges that the landscape is changing. “I think you can find clubs become dependent on it,” he says. “It’s hard to put a finger on it but you lose that sense of identity, that willingness to play for the club.” -

I don't like the thought of Liverpool dictating our team selection if that story is true. There are so many variables in this such as loss of form. It's a real looking down the nose at us from them and comes across as arrogant. Hopefully it's just another bullshit piece from yer man Nixon. -
They played it at Swansea last Saturday too but the volume didn't match ours.

Take Fred off and replace him with McTominay who is even worse. Welcome to Manchester United 2022.

United in a slime green kit, De Gea in a kit designed by a drunken City fan and losing 2-0 already playing Swansea suicide football. What a shambles that club has become.

Paul Ince working his managerial magic again..........they are three down after 17minutes at Rotherham.
-
They might even name a pub after him - Bad Kompany. 😁😁

I don't think it's Michael Tonge from Sheffield United. I recall his face but not his name. Bradshaw comes to mind. Is the Arsenal player David Hillier?

If JDT continues as he has I'm certain that in the next few months he will be linked with other jobs. He sounds an ambitious sort so it's inevitable there will be interest from clubs here and abroad. He also comes across as a genuine person, a proper man who will stay loyal until such times. At the moment there is a freshness about the place, fans are looking forward to games and many have reconnected with the club. I am confident that the man in the Technical Area will make the right decisions. It's been a while since I felt like that. -
Tony Daley is the Villa player I think. Interestingly there is only one foreign player there. How times have changed.

Watford were abysmal in the last twenty minutes as Burnley created lots of chances. They looked ragged, tired and got away with one tonight. The Burnley total football project is floundering, never mind - it was a good while it lasted (45 minutes at Huddersfield).

How innovative is that? From a confidence point of view that would be great for the kids. -

I absolutely love the way he refers to us as 'Rovers'. He really comes across as a grounded individual who has the uncanny knack of saying the right things and certainly isn't getting carried away. For his nice demeanour and interviews I'd wager he's a right b****** to cross. -

I have seen him play quite a few times and I've never really seen him take risks. If there is nothing on he just goes back to the keeper and start again. It's probably nit picking but I thought he tried to win a couple of headers when he should have held his ground but with good coaching and more games this can be rectified. He can be proud of his performance and his beaming smile on the photo with his family spoke volumes. Surely his advisors, if they are doing the right thing for him should be telling him to sign here. At Spurs he will be back in the under 21's playing against kids who invariably will be no match physically for him. -

I lost me season tickets last year and they were handed in so hopefully somebody will do the same for your sisters handbag. When she rings ask Rovers to put it on their social media if it hasn't yet been handed in. -

A really enjoyable night at Ewood as Tomasson, true to his word gave some kids a game and on the whole fully justified his decision. My brother and a couple of friends were seeing some of these youngsters for the first time and were really impressed. This will do the kids who played the world of good and as supporters we should feel proud of the Academy and the good work going on there. Just heard Bradford away in the next round. I'm looking forward to it already and hopefully Sky might consider televising it live. -
I believe we did.

The man is a grade A blagger, full of nonsense and over complications. -
At the exchange of team sheets an hour before kick off West Brom should have asked Rovers for permission to use the towels but they didn't. They simply put them around the pitch perimeter as the game started which was sneaky. It was up to the referee to stop it as permission wasn't given but he was weak and allowed it. It's different when West Brom are at home but they have to offer the visitors use of the towels too. So if Bruce asks on Sunday Tomasson should say no. If I was on the Rovers bench I would be reinforcing the point about their antics last season to the referee before the game.
-
In fairness it was Ismael but West Brom pulled a fast one. With us being at home West Brom should have asked for permission before the game but didn't. The referee allowed them to do it when it was in his power to stop it but he was weak.
-
Hopefully Tomasson tells Bruce to f*** off when he wants to put towels out on the touchlines.

I agree on their front three. If they stay fit I reckon they have fifty goals there. I saw their game against Sheff Utd and thought defensively they looked at but suspect. I can see them being involved in some high scoring games this season.
