  1. To reiterate the owners (or whovever) have promised their 'full support' to Tony Mowbray in the statement issued over the weekend. I took that as meaning financial support. And now the manager has raised the spectre of FFP.
  2. Has a journo put their name to the article Kamy?
  3. If that is true then it worries me even more.
  4. That £8.5m wage bill worries me in light of the visit to India. If the reports are true that promotion is worth around £6m I am concerned that Venkys will look at that and offset it against the current wage bill and not increase it by too much. I sincerely hope I am wrong (and then accused of being negative) but I have a feeling this isn't going to end well.
  5. One of the problems I find is that when a manager who is clearly struggling and gets the sack invariably clubs just pick up one of the jobbers like Pardew. I think if he had gone earlier they would probably have brought a new manager in from the merry-go-round. They only appointed Darren Moore because they thought they were going down and now they have a dilemma. Do they stick with him or bring in one of the desperado characters who generally have made a success of failure but have one biggie on their CV's.
  6. Well you pay my extra £50 increase then if you don't think it's excessive. ?
  7. You think a small gamble but for me it's a big gamble. Mowbray is undoubtedly popular but I would love to know his true feelings on a 17% increase given his working class, value for money background.
  8. Going back to that horrible, soulless retail park again with the worst stewards and plastic manc fans.
  9. I understood that the new deal was agreed just before Bowyer was sacked but it was actually signed on Lambert's watch.
  10. In my opinion it's all about how high the bar is set with Evans. Generally I think it has been pretty low in his time thus far but in fairness he has risen slightly above that recently. For me we can massively improve on him without necessarily signing anybody.
  11. Because, and don't take this the wrong way you are making a fool of yourself.
  12. I hope she doesn't read this forum then. I think you need to stop posting until after the game mate.
  13. Blimey Chaddy you have told Blueboy not to ask personal questions then you tell us all that about your life.
  14. But if you quit your job you wouldn't be able to afford a season ticket...............would you? ?
  15. Asda, Sainsburys and all the big supermarkets are businesses too but if there prices increased by 15% overnight people would shop elsewhere. Your last sentence and the feel good factor in the town has been exploited by the club in my opinion but it could backfire on them. As an aside I wonder if Cheston will be re engaging the staff who were laid off at the end of last season due to cutbacks following relegation. Somehow I don't think this will happen.
  16. Maths was never my strong point but I reckon my season ticket in the JW Upper has gone up by 15%. I honestly can't believe that there is justification for such a substantial increase in one go particularly when inflation, RPI and the other indicators are much, much lower than this. I honestly believe that this will deter so many of the lapsed and potentially new fans from investing in season tickets. Another point is for adults who take kids but the adult can't make night matches during term time for a plethora of reasons. Given that there are likely to be about seven of these it increases the cost per game substantially and could put quite a few off. This was mentioned to me by somebody who is in such a position with a couple of kids.
  17. I really don't understand the lack of information yet for season tickets for next season. Surely the prices would have been sorted out by now and with so many coming to Ewood tomorrow it would be an ideal time to try and tap into the feel good factor and strike whilst the iron is hot.
  18. There are exceptions to every rule Jim. Ribery has been consistently good for years now. If he had been poor he wouldn't have survived. Almost the antithesis of Conway who just hasn't done it for me and not deserving of a new deal.
  19. He is 33 now and not worthy of a new deal in my opinion. His wages could be put to far better use. He could probably get himself a two year deal somewhere else to see him finish his career.
  20. It should have been a brothel put planning permission was refused because they don't score enough at home.
  21. The window opens on May 17th and closes on August 9th. With players on holiday and pre season things will need to move quickly. In the past there has tended to be lots of movement towards the end of August when squads are settling down and players become surplus to requirements. We will need to be on the ball.
  22. There is plenty of bitter and copious amounts of whine made from specialty sour grapes. A mixture of the two is known as the ginger whinger although this will only be available until next year when it is discontinued in Burnley but will be available in another town or city.
  23. I think you should post that on an Ipswich fans website and see their response.
  24. Paul Ince mk 2. Campbell will be a disaster with his arrogant and aloof attitude. I saw an Ipswich fan on TV recently who was annoying at people saying 'be careful what you wish for' after McCarthy announced he was leaving. Well they really should be careful what they wish for now.
