I saw the first half of Football's Dirty Secrets last night on BBC1 and found it compelling but harrowing too. It continues tonight and tomorrow. How on earth did them beasts get away with it for so long?
-
Cheston was here before Mowbray came. Don't you remember his famed 'outstanding candidate' reference to Coyle getting the managers job?
-
And to prove your point Pears got a four year deal but if you scratch the surface the possible answer is there.
-
I actually enjoyed the performance today and thought we were well worth a point. There wasn't really an outstanding performance I thought but as a pair our centre halves were good. It alters nothing for me though, in fact it adds to my thoughts about Mowbray holding us back particularly when I saw his post match comments about a getting about teams in their own half and playing with freedom. For pretty much all of the winter we haven't really done that and in my opinion that is down to Mowbray. A top six squad and mid table manager.
-
Yes but Mowbray has the answer - he is going to get his 'meterage' (which is nothing to do with distance) up.
-
https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk More guff from Mowbray in what is clearly an arse covering interview. He blames the way we play for Ayala's injuries and yet two of his injuries have happened in training, one of them actually warming up. Its not like his injury record at Boro was any good despite the way they played (in Mowbrays parallel universe that is). That alone should have been the deterrent here but we give him a three year deal committing the club to several million quid in the process.

The last time I looked a 1-0 defeat meant no points. Mowbray, in his inimitable way is talking like these losses are some kind of moral victory and some will undoubtedly buy into this because, well, erm Mowbray said it. To be honest I'm getting to the point where it's all becoming boring now. The complete autonomy he and Waggott have is just no good for any organisation. There is no accountability and as we trundle along they are untouchable as our delightful owners seemingly don't care buy hey, they are signing the cheques so all is right.
-
Mowbray is in absolute self preservation mode with his post match comments. It's becoming an insult to our intelligence now but as I have said he is making these comments for the sake of Balaji and co. On a poor run of form like ours he just doesn't have the answers and wherewithal to stop the rot.

Rovers v Bristol City - 17/03/21

What a dreadful game of football that was. With everything that is going on at the club watching Rovers play and looking forward to a game was respite for some but now even that looks like the players have fallen into the club malaise. Mowbray and his staff certainly have. -

Poor from Mowbray to drop some of the best performers in recent weeks. And after getting the hook at half time his project signing gets a start. The sooner this bloke is confined to the history books the better for us. -

I would hope the official would do himself but his coach should read his reports and watch clips and his job is then to come up with some remedies. -
Championship Season 2020 - 2021

And that sums up the ineptitude of the EFL. It will be hard enough enticing fans back without hare brained schemes like this. -
Brockhall STC - planning permission application ?
arbitro replied to Mattyblue's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Pretty much everyone would have thought the club would make lots of money on this and that was the motivation and in their eyes the justification. Now whether or not Swag is telling the truth is immaterial to me, the fact he said it should be a stick to beat him with when he is questioned about it by various fan groups and the press. -
The re-invigoration of BRFC

It's irrelevant how they met, after all these years the common denominator for them is Rovers and the betterment of it. And for that they should be applauded not derided. And I know Darrenrover and believe me there is nothing elitist about him. -
Brockhall STC - planning permission application ?
arbitro replied to Mattyblue's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
And that is the popular misconception amongst many who are in favour. Swag actually said that it could be that they may even have to ask the owners for more money to complete his project. That is the main reason why I'm struggling with this. Just what is the point of effectively downsizing when it might actually end up costing more money. -

It's different opinions mate. If you're sick of different opinions and react like you did then a message board isn't really for you. -
And Burton have Hayden Carter playing who Mowbray sent out on loan to bring in two kids from Premier League clubs.

No because the ball wasn't played by a team mate. Also the ball needs to be played forwards for a player to be offside. -

When I was active John every game had an assessor in attendance and he would join us pre match and stay for all the formalities. After the game there would be a debrief when aspects of the game could be discussed. In the next couple of days the assessor compiled his report and, if he needed to would view critical incidents on a DVD. He would then mark accordingly. In my time clubs were denied access to these reports as they were deemed private. With the advent of the full time Select Group Two (effectively Championship referees) there was a marked change. Each game is evaluated minute by minute by an individual and critical incidents ie penalties and sendings off are noted. Each week a panel of evaluators sit and go through every referred critical incident and decide as to its correctness or not. The mark is awarded on this basis and merit lists are constructed from these marks. There is an appeals process if the referee is unhappy with his mark. Hopefully the referee will analyse his own game and be honest with himself. I always said my best assessor was myself and most of my learning came through watching dvd's with a critical eye. They also have coaches whose main role is to improve them but I personally don't think referees coaching works. -

They are ignorant of the law. Dack didn't deliberately leave the field of play and as such didn't need permission to come back on. -

A still picture doesn't really give any perspective and any contact from Lenihans arm was minimal. For me the Brentford player initiated the contact once he knew he was marginally ahead of Lenihan. Lenihan is actually trying to get out of his way. I could accept this as a penalty if the referee had been consistent and awarded two to us which both had more actual contact than the one he gave. -

What a childish thing to say. -
I've been saying the same for months now. A new manager needs time to assess he squad, look at potential new signings and plan pre season. Waiting until the end of the season is too late. In truth I really don't think it will happen and Mowbray will be allowed to meander through to the end of his contract. And who knows, under the current structure he's likely to get another deal.
