  1. Asda, Sainsburys and all the big supermarkets are businesses too but if there prices increased by 15% overnight people would shop elsewhere. Your last sentence and the feel good factor in the town has been exploited by the club in my opinion but it could backfire on them. As an aside I wonder if Cheston will be re engaging the staff who were laid off at the end of last season due to cutbacks following relegation. Somehow I don't think this will happen.
  2. Maths was never my strong point but I reckon my season ticket in the JW Upper has gone up by 15%. I honestly can't believe that there is justification for such a substantial increase in one go particularly when inflation, RPI and the other indicators are much, much lower than this. I honestly believe that this will deter so many of the lapsed and potentially new fans from investing in season tickets. Another point is for adults who take kids but the adult can't make night matches during term time for a plethora of reasons. Given that there are likely to be about seven of these it increases the cost per game substantially and could put quite a few off. This was mentioned to me by somebody who is in such a position with a couple of kids.
  3. I really don't understand the lack of information yet for season tickets for next season. Surely the prices would have been sorted out by now and with so many coming to Ewood tomorrow it would be an ideal time to try and tap into the feel good factor and strike whilst the iron is hot.
  4. There are exceptions to every rule Jim. Ribery has been consistently good for years now. If he had been poor he wouldn't have survived. Almost the antithesis of Conway who just hasn't done it for me and not deserving of a new deal.
  5. He is 33 now and not worthy of a new deal in my opinion. His wages could be put to far better use. He could probably get himself a two year deal somewhere else to see him finish his career.
  6. It should have been a brothel put planning permission was refused because they don't score enough at home.
  7. The window opens on May 17th and closes on August 9th. With players on holiday and pre season things will need to move quickly. In the past there has tended to be lots of movement towards the end of August when squads are settling down and players become surplus to requirements. We will need to be on the ball.
  8. There is plenty of bitter and copious amounts of whine made from specialty sour grapes. A mixture of the two is known as the ginger whinger although this will only be available until next year when it is discontinued in Burnley but will be available in another town or city.
  9. I think you should post that on an Ipswich fans website and see their response.
  10. Paul Ince mk 2. Campbell will be a disaster with his arrogant and aloof attitude. I saw an Ipswich fan on TV recently who was annoying at people saying 'be careful what you wish for' after McCarthy announced he was leaving. Well they really should be careful what they wish for now.
  11. In truth most Oldham players did but that tells me a lot about them as characters given that they are now relegated.
  12. Rakeem Harper played more games for us than any of our own players. What about Ryan Sessegnon at Fulham? If you are good enough you are old enough.
  13. Three games to resurrect our coffin. ?
  14. You need to get out into the garden for a while Nick ?. I think Ed Sheeran is safe for a while yet.
  15. Terrific for Accrington and great credit to the owner, staff and players who have greatly punched above their weight to prove that money isn't always the key to being successful in football. It will be interesting to see how much they increase their playing budget by next season. I don't think it will be massive as their owner seems to be grounded and realistic.
  16. Some interesting games today including Barnsley v Bolton, Sheffield United v Millwall, Middlesbrough v Bristol City and Fulham v Brentford. I would really like Bolton to go down especially if we go up. I would rather have a long away trip somewhere that go to that soulless retail park.
  17. Last season a relegation scrap, this season a promotion challenge and another potential relegation scrap next season. According to Mowbrays logic that could be three seasons without any of these talented kids being given a real opportunity to become a first team regular. And meanwhile the squad is bolstered by the likes of Caddis, Whittingham, Samuel and the guy who thinks he is better than Dack.
  18. I just want the best players out there every game irrespective of age. Our bench on Saturday didn't inspire me in the slightest.
  19. I think (although I don't know for sure) that Rovers hands are somewhat tied here due to the restrictive nature of the Northcote agreement. Northcote see themselves as some kind of blue chip company and charge silly prices. I won one of the 1875 draws this season and the prize was hospitality for two. The food was average and the choice limited. I took my granddaughter and she had chicken nuggets and chips. Quite frankly McDonalds is better than what she got. I also believe that Northcote don't have any control over the Blues Bar hence the choices and prices which are much more reasonable. For an event like this it should be pie and peas or a one course meal such as curry or chilli.
  20. To quote Andy Holt himself 'it's just the way they roll'. Up yours EFL ?
  21. I wasn't but a close friend was. The incident happened right outside the referees changing room so he saw the lot including Warnocks lackey scurrying out of the disused corridor that divided the away changing room and referees room.
  22. And Ternant ended up with a bloody nose from that after Blackwell nutted him.
  23. As I intimated earlier you need to grow up.
  24. I have met a few genuine managers but you are correct in your generalisation. Warnock however was the worst example I ever came across in nigh on fifteen years.
