  1. OK, good to see/ hear he's had a couple of good games. Let's see if he can keep it up, no-one was singing his praises after the Stoke game.
  2. Lazy. The trick is to fill it with home supporters.
  3. Errr......that's exactly what I said!
  4. You're right - we dropped into the League 1 at one point. They threw the kitchen sink at it relatively speaking to get back to the Championship though. Seemingly not the same level of enthusiasm somewhere within the Club to fund a push to the Premier League, even when we've been in a good position.
  5. My thoughts exactly jim. Might not last long so let's just enjoy it while it does. The other headscratcher is how have our inept management have managed to find two such differing yet seemingly both very capable head coaches to succeed the hapless Mowbray?
  6. Yeah the whole thing was on Sky this morning, originated from their Twitter feed or X channel. I wouldn't have seen it otherwise either.
  7. Right on cue rovers fan99 leaps to the defence of Waggott. You mean like when the owners sanctioned a massive money deal (wages) for O Brien which mysteriously got sabotaged or when they (eventually) sanctioned a loan deal for Mcguire which went the same way? I have no confidence at all they'll stick their hands in their pocket this January mind, no matter how well we're doing.
  8. He's streets better than what we have at the moment. Presumably it would only be a loan and it would be reliant on Southampton paying nearly all his wages though.
  9. I'd be more worried about Waggott and Pasha. Their cushy little number might be in jeopardy again if this continues.
  10. What a result. Waggott will be getting a bit twitchy - we're starting to do a bit too well. Eustace certainly doesn't mind grinding it out against the top sides, have beaten Leeds twice and Leicester now in the last few months.
  11. They've equalised. Truly cringeworthy staged intro to the players on Sky courtesy of Cov's X channel this morning. They gave him an unenthusiastic standing ovation then Frank, who looked like he was waving at the players, launched into full touchy feely mode, "We 're all in this together no one's more important than the next man" etc Yes they are you're the bloomin' manager! Somewhat surreal and I thought fairly uncomfortable viewing.
  12. The Club will be complaining about being short of money next. Another "request" from our superb local Costabulary I presume.
  13. Stop trying to defend the indefensible.
  14. At last - well done John Eustace.
  15. If true, do other Police forces ask that their games go ahead at 1.30p.m.? Can't say I've noticed
  16. He always used to have it in for Rovers. There was an occasion when Lawrie Mcmenemy's Southampton rightly had Peter Osgood and Steve Williams sent off at Ewood and he tried to blame John Bailey. Then of course slightly later he criticised a poor ball boy or girl for throwing the ball back too quickly which ultimately led to a last minute equaliser for Liverpool in an FA Cup tie.
  17. Wow, watching that it's like watching a completely different game to today's non contact offering. And whilst some of the things that went on were wrong you have to say the original is far more entertaining. Thought Branagan's first tackle was the worst one.
  18. I'm not sure why you're querying my post, it sounds like we're in agreement. I'm not aware of any specific trouble between us and Leeds fans nor am I aware of any other Police forces picking and choosing kick off times to suit themselves. If I'm wrong on either count I hold my hands up. Rovers for their part should refuse any attempt to move the fixtures about. If our local Police are unhappy with Policing matches at the scheduled times then that's their problem - it's a matter for discussion between them and the EFL and the broadcasters.
  19. Yes, at the time the match SHOULD have been played ie 3p.m. I thought they were there to serve the Public not the other way round.
  20. Looks like it is - just seen an article on a Leeds website reproducing a statement from the Police stating that they intervened and "requested" a 1.30 p.m. kick off to reduce alcohol related anti social behaviour etc. In fact they even requested a 12.00 noon kick off but Leeds pushed back against that. What a bloody joke. Talk about the tail wagging the dog. At least Leeds had the backbone to stand up to them
  21. Big difference between £30 m (plus add ons) and £18m plus presumably smaller add ons. I still think £18m was virtually giving him away in the current market given his age and potential. So what if it was a Club record fee? (Just) It's 21 years since we sold Duff to Chelsea for £17m! Albeit he was a better player imo.
  22. If we're talking hard men per se rather than ability, Killer Keeley over Colin Hendry every day of the week. Howard Kendall over Mokoena?
  23. Wow, the original hard man in terms of my time watching Rovers. Would be sent off before the end of the warm up these days. Seem to remember he was instrumental in the start of the revival of our fortunes at the time. RIP.
  24. Do you still not like Eustace because he isn't as eloquent as JDT and chews gum then Eddie?
