  1. Absolute garbage from Mowbray. Why would he want a player who isn't sulky about not being in the first team? Also all this guff about having to be one of the best eleven players in the Club, that doesn't seem to apply to certain players like Bennett and Gallagher who are abysmal every week but still get picked without fail anyway.
  2. I was never in favour and I'm guessing now we don't have the funds to bring in a decent permanent replacement.
  3. I forgot about Davenport as well who's been here 2 seasons but who can't get a chance either. TM will play the youngsters if there's no other choice but he doesn't appear to trust them.
  4. If you're happy to see us finish nowhere every season and only put a bit of effort in when it's too late I still think you're very easily pleased. Apologies for sounding brusque, it's not you I'm upset with.
  5. I wouldn't use sarcasm when it doesn't back up your point, Brereton has only started back to back games twice in two years, Chapman has hardly been seen since signing 18 months ago, Nyambe invariably has to play second fiddle to Bennett, Travis was on his way out on loan before Smallwood got himself suspended, Wharton and Magloire can't get a chance, Buckley only gets cameos, JRC only got in as a result of an injury crisis.
  6. ? Good effort. Let's see how prominent a part they play next season when it matters once again.
  7. To suggest Walton has only been poor since the restart is ludicrous. Nearly everyone's been telling you he's absolute cack all season but you wouldn't have it.
  8. I think you're being very easily seduced by a slightly bolder selection and a bit more spirit in a dead rubber Parson.
  9. Seeing as you asked......For the players to put a shift in when it actually matters, A (different) manager to select the youngsters when it actually matters and a goalkeeper!
  10. Lot of goals about today apart from in most of the games with anything riding on them. Real end of season affairs. What might have been with a half decent manager in charge. And a goalkeeper.
  11. He was desperate to outscore BB. 3-2 to Gallagher is it?
  12. Mowbray, won't like that. Chapman with an assist.
  13. You've only just realised? ?
  14. The subs haven't helped. Unless he was injured, can't see the point in bringing BB off when he was playing well. Smacks of just giving everyone a few minutes to keep them happy. There's even been a rare sighting of the lesser spotted Harry Chapman now. Guess it'll be his only outing until Christmas unless he scores three in the last ten minutes.
  15. I'll give JRC a free pass as Mowbray is probably doing what Mowbray does best and playing the player completely out of position but I'm not really getting all the praise he's had since coming into the side. Looks bang average to me. His main attribute is he's not Bennett.
  16. ...... But never underestimate the ability of Walton to cock things up. Ludicrous he's even playing anyway. I reckon he's cost us around twenty goals this season.
  17. Didn't bother watching the first half. Just logged in, galling to watch them putting a bit of effort in once it's too late.
  18. Strange, isn't it. If you're one of Tony's favoured players you're on easy street, there's never any pressure on you to perform, you'll never get criticised and you'll be selected regardless of performances or even be handed new contracts when you're not playing and not likely to play. Yet if you somehow get on the wrong side of him as Raya, Chapman, Brereton, Davenport (and even Nyambe and Travis for a spell) seem to have done at some point you never even get a look in. I find it all very odd. What was that famous quote from Animal Farm? "All animals are equal but some are more equal than others." Hmmm......... seems old George knew a thing or two.
  19. You can add Hart to the list of out of contractors that can go. (As most of us predicted what a waste of money it was giving Smallwood and Hart contract extensions btw) I'd also be pretty keen to offload Mulgrew as well. He was fantastic for us in League 1 which was clearly a level or two below his natural ability, but at this level his legs have clearly gone, and we can't afford to have one of our top earners sat there for another season doing nothing. Agree completely about Johnson and Bennett. Johnson strikes me as someone just here for one last pay day who has never made an effort to get properly fit all season. Imo we need to move heaven and earth to shift Bennett. Apart from a very brief spell in central midfield in League 1 he has never really performed since being at the Club yet, like Jason Lowe before him, seems to make himself indispensable in the eyes of the incumbent manager - presumably by being a good old bloke around the place all week. However we need a talisman who leads by example by performing well on the pitch every game. Not someone who fails to perform every week but who creates the illusion of whole hearted commitment by doing a big fist pump after the game and by chipping in occasionally with hollow tub thumping soundbites on social media. He's entirely symptomatic of the malaise within the Club. Sadly we can fairly confidently predict little of this will occur if Mowbray remains in charge with the possible exception of Mulgrew who he appeared to fall out with at the start of the season. He'll bang on about the need for "experience" and these players we most sorely need to see the back of will be the last ones to depart if Tony gets his way.
  20. Travis by a country mile for me, Armstrong the only other viable contender.
  21. Pretty fair comment, well done, although imo the changes you suggest should have been made after the Barnsley game imo at which point the season was realistically over.
  22. Yep. What a sorry arsed effort (I hesitate to use the word performance) that was in a game that should have been a "must win" fixture. We've no hope under Mowbray. What SHOULD happen is he is sacked along with Venus Lowe and Benson upon his return to Blackburn and at the very least Damien Johnson be given a chance to show what he can do. Keep: Lenihan, Nyambe, Travis, Dack, Armstrong. Release: all out of contract players. Listen to offers for anyone else. Promote youth. What WILL happen: Tony will con the owners into handing over the same budget as last year. Everyone gets a new deal and we limp on for another 12 months with nothing to look forward to apart from another mid table finish at best. Players like Brereton, Chapman and Davenport who he signed will continue to be completely ignored and in general the youngsters will continue to only get either cameo appearances or the odd start whenever there's a dire injury crisis.
  23. Maybe not. Tony has probably told him to model himself on Corry. Davenport on for Johnson, Holtby on for Downing, Gallagher on for Samuel and Brereton on for Graham.
