Agreed. Why on earth has he made it to 2nd interview?
-
But if he had, he'd probably have ended up being right.
-
I know all that, I pointed it out when Carsley went 1/2 right at the beginning. I do think the general standard of those listed in the betting is an indication of the calibre we can expect though. Id be really surprised if we pulled out a Sean Dyche out of thin air when the indications are we've spoken to the likes of Boateng, Wellens, Boa Morte, Karanka, Lijnders etc etc.
-
We'll see. We're paying £20k p.w. for a guy who's hardly kicked a ball yet.
-
With the quality of most of the applicants it's a shame they couldnt have been put through some sort of version of Squid Game.
-
No disrespect intended chaddy but you always say the same sort of thing during a transfer window "Let's wait and see who've we've got by the end - Im confident we'll get the players we need" And they nearly always let you down without exception
-
Talksport latest odds. O Neil on the drift, Lowe coming in substantially. O Neil 2/1 Ismael 4/1 Karanka 5/1 Lowe 5/1 Boateng 8/1 Lijnders 10/1 ONeil apart, the state of it.

Why do we seem to conduct our managerial searches as though we're trying to hire a shelf stacker at Tesco? May be wrong but it seems to me that most Clubs at our sort of level identify who they want and just go out and get them.
-
Errr......is it April 1st already or does someone else have access to your keyboard?
-
No-one is suggesting he came in permanently I dont think. He just needs to come in for a few months and put a smile on everyone's faces and a spring in everyone's step.
-
Mrs Desai: " So Steven, long time since we've spoken, thought you'd have retired by now at your age, how goes the search for a new manager?" Waggott: : "Excellently Madam. After two weeks of dilligent work I can confirm we've been priced out of the hunt for a League 1 manager by a £250,000 compensation clause. (That's the Division below us btw) However I can confirm we are on with discussions with a guy with practically zero managerial experience and who was sacked less than six months into his last job and an older guy who's barely managed since 2018 and who only lasted about 6 months in each of his last two jobs. Mrs Desai: "Sounds perfect Steven. Good work. And remember remind David if he wins another couple of games, he'll have to go. He was warned".

The number of alleged applicants worn as a badge of honour by some. Just think what the other 147 must have been like!
-
I have the solution! We should direct any prospective candidate to onejackwalker. It's the job no one in their right mind could possibly refuse or ever want to leave! Apparently.
-
Better hang fire a day or two. Pep might be available after tonight Lol.
-
Cant for the life of me see why. I had no idea who he was but and had to look him up but he was apparently sacked before Klopp had even started his job at Red Bull with his side 10 points behind the leaders Sturm Graz. Also with his side 32nd out of 36 in the Champions League group.

We could actually be barking up the wrong tree. They could actually have a genius appointment up their sleeve, however everything you say appears to be correct and as many of us have said the suggestion you're proposing seems so simple and obvious. Every managerial appointment is obviously vital but given the challenges we're likely to face after this season if we dont go up, I think the next appointment we make is likely to be one of the more pivotal ones in our history. I think we're talking after we went down to the third division in 1970 for the first time ever and when Jack was ill and we'd sacked Bryan Kidd type crucial. Luckily we came up with Ken Furphy and Souness (before he lost the plot) on those occasions and our longer term futures revived in each case. Do we trust current management to make a similarly inspired appointment? Feels like a real "sliding doors" moment.

A week's a long time in football, if there was any feeling of grievance against Eustace amongst the players that will be dissipating and after a week of training the temporary arrangements will feel more like the norm Lowe will be doing REALLY well to make it 3 out of 3 on Saturday.
-
Quelle Surprise! (About the wage) As a final shortlist of 3 could that actually be any worse? Hope to god Nixon is completely wrong.
-
Touche` Sir. Who WOULD be your choice? Its easy to dismiss individual candidates.
-
Yeah. Just live hand to mouth on a month to month basis until the Wharton/Szmodics/Raya/Carter money runs out.
-
He's getting shorter and shorter in the betting. (Talksport Bet) O Neil 7/4 Ismael 4/1 Next nearest in the betting (Lowe etc) out at 10/1. Suggests to me both have expressed an interest in speaking to us but are nowhere near accepting it otherwise they'd be heavily odds on or betting would be suspended. First one who decides they can tolerate working under Waghail for any sort of period probably gets it. I'd personally expect O'Neil to run a mile as soon as he speaks to us.

The dream scenario sounds sweeter and sweeter. Gueye scores an 89th minute screamer to win the play off final against them. With Dyche at the wheel. Lol.
-
Sadly you might be right. If we can "lease" players, perhaps the thinking is we can also "lease" managers etc. Especially if you dont know what you want to do with the Club beyond summer 2026.
-
Dyche is a name who hasnt been mentioned at all this time round. I did hear him linked quite strongly initially after Mowbray went. He'd be another very good choice as a short term appointment.
-
Agree completely.
