I don't really have the words or the energy for how I feel tonight. Anything I do say will be echoing what's already been said (wrong team / wrong tactics / lack of passion). In my lifetime (in my 30's), Burnley were always lower-league nobodies whilst we dominated English football and they barely registered to me. On the rare occasion we did meet them, we either outclassed them (5-0 win at Ewood) or out battled them (under Souey, at their ground). To now be the poor relation is something I really struggle to comprehend. -
Carabao Cup - next round, moving on - draw.

We'll do Forest at home. -

So JDT's substitutions are inspired, Vale can finish, Hirst can take a pen and we can win a shootout with Pears in goal. Totally as expected, then 👀 -

He's a decent shot stopper, gets an unfair rap on here, presumably based on a couple of shockers (Wigan away sticks in the mind). As a backup to TK, I don't mind him at all. -

Thing with Buckley is, he has some element of talent, but there were several matches in the second half of last season where he went missing for the full 90 minutes. We might as well have been playing with 10 men. In fairness to him, he was being played as a false 9 in some of those games, but still. It's down to him to get his head down and kick on, and at this moment in time, he's going backwards at a rapid rate. -

First draw of the season, neither side brave enough to win and both too scared to lose. 0-0. And hopefully that small minority on both sides can prevent themselves from punching another person in the head, because they support a different team to them. -

You (or them sitting behind you anyway) can not convince me that watching a winning performance is not enjoyable. Football is a competitive sport first and foremost; entertainment second. -

Vale was poor when he came on - the most disappointing part is him barely getting out of a jog and failing to put them under any pressure. Can only assume that's been his tactical instructions? But still, even the small bits of link up play was a lot more than Dolan offered today. I do like Dolan, but his sole purpose today was to gift the ball back to Hudds, time and time again. Strange how Vale seems to get worse press than Dolan. On the flip side, previous boo-boy Pickering was very good today and has been very solid for a number of weeks now. Good to see. -

Obviously happy with a win and a clean sheet, getting into a winning habit is no mean feat at all. I actually enjoyed that first half, thought we looked confident and sharp. But it feels so counterintuitive to sit back and defend a lead at home. Seems that JDT trusts his defence and GK explicitly, but a better team than Hudds scores at least one today. -

Completely agree. I always liked Nyambe, but Brittain is a big upgrade. -

Best half we’ve played in a while - we look sharp and every bit a top 6 side, albeit against a very poor Hudds team. Delightful assist from Pickering and very well taken by BBD. Early goal in the 2nd half and it should be a 6th successive home victory and 2 points off whoever is currently sitting top 👍🏻 -
100% - both positive and negative (look at Boro at the other end of the scale right now). Momentum takes you a long way in this division and it doesn't matter how you find it, scrappy wins or flowing football.
-
It’s almost as though Dolan is scared to do anything other than basic tasks on the ball. Maybe a confidence issue - a loan spell in a lower division might not be a terrible idea. Back 4 look pretty comfortable, even with Travis back there and the Morton/Wharton combo in the middle has huge promise. Hull are a bit shit; unless we shoot ourselves in the foot in the 2nd half, should be a 4th win on the bounce.
-
Only seen Morton’s twice, but looked a very good tackle to me.

Great pass and great finish.

The wages thing wouldn't make sense - as has been said, he's been paid regardless, so it's not some cost-saving exercise. I want to believe that it's JDT and backroom staff taking things slowly with Dack, after 2 x serious injuries. But it does feel like he just doesn't fancy him. JDT's cryptic comments recently could be interpreted that Dack doesn't train well, or take things on well - and if that's the case, I can understand him being left out. Just a shame, due to how talented the boy is.
-
I wouldn't agree with that - I've seen bits from Vale to suggest that he has something about him. The assist at Celtic, the chances he created (and very nearly scored) at Blackpool, the smart play when he came on against B'ham - there have been others. As much as I genuinely never want to discard any young player, Hirst has shown very, very little in the cameos we've seen from him. Looks lightweight, loses the ball often and doesn't show much sign of any footballing intelligence, so far.

Agree with the couple of posters who have said that B’ham were a decent side - probably the best I’ve seen at Ewood this season. If that’s how they consistently play, they’ll have a good season. The fact that we’ve taken 3 points without playing particularly well - and with a smattering of Academy kids in there - is very encouraging. Really pleased to see Gally score again. Been saying for a long time, put him centrally and send the ammunition and he’s a 15-20 goal a season striker at this level. -

The history books will show 3 points and a 3rd win on the bounce. Still joint top. Kaminski earned his wages today, top class. -

Wharton is the real deal, isn’t he? Well, both are, but I mean Adam in particular. Delighted to see Sam get another one as well. B’ham look handy, certainly a step up from the likes of Sunderland, but expecting us to see the second half out for 3 wins on the trot and to stay joint top. -
Sam did well last night and can hopefully build on that - he's had some poor games this season (as have all of the players), but overall he's done quite well. As for Dack, if he works hard and does what the manager asks of him, he'll play his part. I don't buy into the 'financial' thing in this instance.
