  1. Agree with the couple of posters who have said that B’ham were a decent side - probably the best I’ve seen at Ewood this season. If that’s how they consistently play, they’ll have a good season. The fact that we’ve taken 3 points without playing particularly well - and with a smattering of Academy kids in there - is very encouraging. Really pleased to see Gally score again. Been saying for a long time, put him centrally and send the ammunition and he’s a 15-20 goal a season striker at this level.
  2. The history books will show 3 points and a 3rd win on the bounce. Still joint top. Kaminski earned his wages today, top class.
  3. Wharton is the real deal, isn’t he? Well, both are, but I mean Adam in particular. Delighted to see Sam get another one as well. B’ham look handy, certainly a step up from the likes of Sunderland, but expecting us to see the second half out for 3 wins on the trot and to stay joint top.
  4. Sam did well last night and can hopefully build on that - he's had some poor games this season (as have all of the players), but overall he's done quite well. As for Dack, if he works hard and does what the manager asks of him, he'll play his part. I don't buy into the 'financial' thing in this instance.
  5. VAR gives that penalty decision every time, however I thought the ref got it right in real time. The dramatic dive to the floor, after the minimal contact, is why it wasn't given - their lad can only blame himself. And as for Wharton's, the linesman was directly in line with the players and he didn't feel it was offside. I've not seen it from his direct view, but I suspect the 2-man wall was just playing Wharton on. Who cares, decisions were made and we got the win; onto Saturday we move.
  6. Delighted for him, but Morton or BBD deserve it. Very nice debut though, thought he did well.
  7. Agreed on this. Seems a strange one - he's not been consistently outstanding, but he's been a good squad addition and gives us something different. I think he'll play his part over the course of this season.
  8. BBD moves so quickly and strongly with the ball. Should have used his head for that Sam S cross though!
  9. Comfortable - and better than Ash Phillips did at the weekend, to be fair.
  10. I think you can possibly thrown Hyam into that - and Hedges isn't far off either.
  11. Turned £5 into £115 with that Wharton goal 😄 Morton being on a yellow makes me nervous - I'd switch him for A.Wharton.
  12. JDT has played at levels way above what TM managed - he knows that, even at the top level, if young lads are good enough, they swim when they're thrown in. Adam Wharton being the perfect example.
  13. Just seen the bit of BBD's celebration - giving the Sunderland fans the 'shhh' and laughing at them. Good lad.
  14. I thought he'd done quite well, some tidy touches and hasn't done anything wrong. The wingback switch has worked really well first half, all credit when it's due. I think Carter looks more ready than Phillips at the moment (unsurprisingly, considering their ages).
  15. Maybe let's see how it goes first, eh? Edit to add: Brittain has looked pretty good in the first 10 minutes, at LWB.
  16. As much as I like Dack, couldn't agree more. Team always comes before the individual. Though JDT could probably help the situation by giving an honest reason as to why he's not starting games.
  17. Fair point, and I did - he's had plenty of criticism, but he's been pretty consistently good for a number of weeks now. Does look like it's Hedges tonight, so if he has that 'free' role again, it could be an extra body in attack.
  18. Really? Second half of Boro aside, he's been one of our best players over the last couple of months. Seems to have got up to speed and he's been playing well.
  19. Pleased to see Garrett get his chance. Hedges at LWB is interesting, but happy to see it in action before I pass any judgement.
  20. I actually remember that - I was only a kid, but remember offering Tim Flowers a bit of my Yorkie in the warm up. Declined, for some reason. Sure we got beat 0-2 at their place in the cup, around the same time as well.
  21. This. I can't make Tuesday due to work commitments, but he'd get a brief applause pre-game from me, in recognition of the good things he did for us (and there were some big ones). However, hopefully he'll be serenaded with a 'Tony, what's the score' by the end of the 90 minutes. We're a point off top and playing a newly promoted side; it's a game we must win.
  22. I've said all along, if you put him in the right positions and supply him, he will score goals. He's far removed from the Chris Browns and Ashley Wards, however limited he is in certain areas. I like Sam; he's honest and hardworking, a nice lad and will end the season on 10-15 goals - to say he's playing mainly as a 'wide forward', that's not bad at all.
  23. He really is, I've been very impressed with him.
