"Excellent holdup play" from Vale there; sounds like he's doing ok tonight, so far. -

BBC commentators have been quite complementary - we've been sharp and crisp with our passing and unlucky not to be leading. Quite promising so far. -
Brereton isn't leaving until the summer and Hirst only counts as 0.25 of a striker, so as long as we bring in a living, breathing man who can play in a forward position, it'll be an upgrade.

I mean, it became more accurate post-edit?

Thought Morton wasn't allowed to be dropped (despite being on the bench plenty of times this season)...? 👀 -
He wouldn’t be at Brockhall having a medical right now if he didn’t fancy the move…
-
These two and a forward, as well as Sorba - that would mean a pretty fantastic window and would make a lot of the recent tantrums on here look a bit daft. Always wait until the window closes before you judge. Trick now is to get these over the line in the next few hours…
-
Of course promotion is the aim, the management team are just playing down expectations; this is how it almost always works. Experience tells me to expect nothing today, in terms of transfers in. But hope tells me there’s a chance of a decent midfielder and a forward, though it sounds like Undav doesn’t fancy the move, so pointless wasting time on him, if that’s the case. I’d love for us to add a couple of quality additions today, mainly to strengthen us. But a little bit just to make those having a meltdown look a bit silly. Plenty of time for meltdowns after the window shuts…

Morton has been on the bench plenty of times this season, most recently away to Norwich, a couple of games ago. I don't think for a second that there's any credence in that 'we're not allowed to drop him' rumour. -
Hirst was an 'option to buy' - ie we could have still walked away. It's good business in the off-chance that he was decent and we got promoted; an agreed price was in place with Leicester.

It's a really weird thing for someone to make up; but sadly also not an uncommon thing. We see it far too often at our club.
-
Big Sam was never spoken to, sounded out or even on Everton's 2nd or 3rd options list. Bielsa was the most likely, but he had a change of heart after the face-to-face meetings and Dyche was next on the list. If you genuinely did waste £50 on Big Sam, you might as well have flushed it down the toilet; same outcome.

Maybe after a dozen matches or so. But not sure we can claim ‘false position’ when you’re over halfway through the season.
-
Krasso would be an upgrade on Ugbo, in my opinion.
-
Exactly this - he’s clearly developed since being a kid and his goal record in Belgium and a couple of other places suggest he knows where the net is. We’re actually making a forward signing, as well as Sorba to supply him; let’s see how they fare before we start moaning, eh?

Ok, I didn't phrase it well - it has existed in the form of the odd idiot here and there. But BRFC is not a club you identify as racist, or is known for being systematically racist. I remember those bogus claims by Anderson, who was coincidentally linked with this Ali idiot. -
With the exception of that random pitch invader near the end - making his escape (seemingly) via the Walkersteel / Riverside.
-
If true - and it should be noted that there's not even been anything other than 'gut feeling' as evidence of such an agreement. Morton has been on the bench a few times this season and, based on recent performances, you would expect to see him back there again for a spell soon.

Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?
Andy replied to bigbrandjohn's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
At the time of Dack being used as a bit part player, my hope was that we were being cautious with him and building him up to play his part in the second half of the season. And, either by good management or pure fluke, that's how it's seemingly ended up. But whichever way it happened, it's great to see him back in the team and doing what he does. -

I'd agree, but if you throw enough mud, it does tend to stick. Rovers are a family club and racism has never been - or never will be - present at our club. What a weird thing for this talentless nobody to come out with. From where I was sat (in the JW), I had presumed that somebody had thrown something onto the pitch. As for the match, first half was dreadful but second better. You know at 2-1 when you're missing chances to kill the game off, they'll always get a late chance or two. Really impressed again by JRC; he's surprisingly very decent on the ball as well as playing with the tenacity that I really like from any player. Nice touch to see the BB End singing his name a couple of times. Morton does need dropping, though I don't buy these 'obliged to play every game' rumours at all. And I really want Gallagher to do well for us - he works hard and he's a good lad. But he's just a bit crap and not good enough for a side wanting to finish at the top end of the table. As for whoever mentioned 'lost the dressing room' - not even close. The players aren't good enough to do what JDT wants from them, but it's just plainly incorrect to suggest they aren't playing for him. -
I'd stick Leonard up top - Vale hasn't been doing it and Leonard has been pretty consistent for the youth sides for some time now.
-
Joao is a strange one - had a red hot spell a couple of seasons ago for Reading, maybe even a good season. And he’s infinitely better than a Hirst or a Vale. But if Reading are allowing him to leave on a free, it’s not the most confidence inspiring move. But if he ended up being the last option available, I think he’d be a decent enough addition.
-
Some were (legitimately) predicting that we'd be in a relegation scrap this season, so to be sitting 4th a few days before February is a pretty fantastic achievement. So, I'd agree - we're no longer in the TM days, so we shouldn't fear a second half collapse.
-
I think this is a good point. Based on the likes of Vardy and Watkins (to name 2), there are clearly unpolished / undiscovered gems down in the non-league or lower divisions. Surely it's worth extensively scouting these areas and taking a punt here and there, rather than chase (seemingly) unobtainable targets.
