  1. Dack's been decent tonight, but I think taking him off now is a good decision. Still easing him back to full fitness and fresh legs in Sam S.
  2. Those stats don't represent how the half has been. We started very brightly, deservedly led and then had a large period where we let them have the ball. 7 'shots', but if you'd seen them, we were troubled by none of them. The main positive is that we've been bright, pressing well and some good individual performances so far - even JRC has been decent, to be fair. The negative is that we've had periods of fanning around at the back still and, if we persevere with that, it's a matter of time until we gift them a real chance. Good half though.
  3. Could not agree more with this, if what we're reading is indeed true. I don't care who the player is; agents do not dictate or influence team decisions.
  4. Enjoyed Bucko's performance so far.
  5. I'm usually on the more optimistic end of the scale. But that lineup has 'massacre' written all over it. Hope I'm wrong...
  6. I'm as deeply unhappy about the last two results and performances as anyone. But to be calling for the manager's head, when he's been here for several months (and we do still sit 3rd in the table, halfway through the season) is beyond batshit crazy. JDT was clear on this when he took over; we're going to be inconsistent and sometimes shit, but give him 3 transfer windows to get the squad how he wants it and then judge him. To even consider binning him now is Venky-ing of the highest order.
  7. Having Henderson in that midfield is a legitimate handicap. Switch Foden to the middle, get Grealish on for Henderson and lets have a go at them 2nd half.
  8. I'm still trying to figure out why the Whartons didn't play - Scott in particular. You have to say that it's highly likely that he (in place of Mola) stops at least two of their goals.
  9. I don't really have the words or the energy for how I feel tonight. Anything I do say will be echoing what's already been said (wrong team / wrong tactics / lack of passion). In my lifetime (in my 30's), Burnley were always lower-league nobodies whilst we dominated English football and they barely registered to me. On the rare occasion we did meet them, we either outclassed them (5-0 win at Ewood) or out battled them (under Souey, at their ground). To now be the poor relation is something I really struggle to comprehend.
  10. So JDT's substitutions are inspired, Vale can finish, Hirst can take a pen and we can win a shootout with Pears in goal. Totally as expected, then 👀
  11. He's a decent shot stopper, gets an unfair rap on here, presumably based on a couple of shockers (Wigan away sticks in the mind). As a backup to TK, I don't mind him at all.
  12. Thing with Buckley is, he has some element of talent, but there were several matches in the second half of last season where he went missing for the full 90 minutes. We might as well have been playing with 10 men. In fairness to him, he was being played as a false 9 in some of those games, but still. It's down to him to get his head down and kick on, and at this moment in time, he's going backwards at a rapid rate.
  13. First draw of the season, neither side brave enough to win and both too scared to lose. 0-0. And hopefully that small minority on both sides can prevent themselves from punching another person in the head, because they support a different team to them.
  14. You (or them sitting behind you anyway) can not convince me that watching a winning performance is not enjoyable. Football is a competitive sport first and foremost; entertainment second.
  15. Vale was poor when he came on - the most disappointing part is him barely getting out of a jog and failing to put them under any pressure. Can only assume that's been his tactical instructions? But still, even the small bits of link up play was a lot more than Dolan offered today. I do like Dolan, but his sole purpose today was to gift the ball back to Hudds, time and time again. Strange how Vale seems to get worse press than Dolan. On the flip side, previous boo-boy Pickering was very good today and has been very solid for a number of weeks now. Good to see.
  16. Obviously happy with a win and a clean sheet, getting into a winning habit is no mean feat at all. I actually enjoyed that first half, thought we looked confident and sharp. But it feels so counterintuitive to sit back and defend a lead at home. Seems that JDT trusts his defence and GK explicitly, but a better team than Hudds scores at least one today.
  17. Completely agree. I always liked Nyambe, but Brittain is a big upgrade.
  18. Best half we’ve played in a while - we look sharp and every bit a top 6 side, albeit against a very poor Hudds team. Delightful assist from Pickering and very well taken by BBD. Early goal in the 2nd half and it should be a 6th successive home victory and 2 points off whoever is currently sitting top 👍🏻
  19. It's not really though, is it? We've won more games than anyone else in the division - and it doesn't matter how you win those games, as long as you do. Tonight was abysmal, but we are still 2nd in the league after 19 games.
  20. I really dislike Coventry. Almost at a Luton Town level of twattyness.
  21. Shocking first half - defence looks like it's never played together. Midfield absent and forward disjointed. However, there are still 45 minutes to put it right.
  22. Confident tonight. Coventry are poor and have players out tonight. Got another fiver on S.Wharton to score and Rovers to win - won be £130 the last time I did that!
  23. 100% - both positive and negative (look at Boro at the other end of the scale right now). Momentum takes you a long way in this division and it doesn't matter how you find it, scrappy wins or flowing football.
