  1. Messi is joining Inter Miami, rather than a sensational Barca return (as has been mooted in the press) Bellingham is set to join Real Madrid for €100m. He's going to be some player that kid.
  2. 35 year old Karim Benzema to leave Real Madrid to join Al-ittihad for a reported £200m per year on a 3 year contract.
  3. Yes, I know they are not in the premier league anymore it was merely a comparison of where their potential new owners would sit with regards to wealth, which I read in an article a couple of months ago (when they were in the prem). I don't have a comparison for the championship but it's irrelevant anyway, the point is that they would be backed by wealthy owners, who are likely to have a strong desire to bounce back to the prem at the first time of asking. They could easily appoint a new DoF and then JDT (or the other way around, makes no difference). He joined us and had to play catch up, it would be a lot easier to do that with a big transfer kitty. Playing squad will need some work no doubts but that's the same for most teams that are relegated.
  4. If that takeover happens they will have plenty of cash (would be around the 10th richest owners in the premier League, apparently). You never know, they might bring in a DoF setup. The main point is, that Leeds could easily offer more than us, if the takeover happens probably even more then they can currently.
  5. We've had ownership problems for 13 years now. We had no director of football until recently. Leeds could probably offer JDT: A higher salary A better playing squad A decent transfer budget A realistic shot at automatic promotion It's all down to whether JDT decides to carry on building what he's started here (although with no actual funds to do so) or jump ship for a better chance at becoming a premier league manager.
  6. Apologies for de-railing the thread. I was a big Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan back in the day, fyi.
  7. Not PL as such but City just scored a great goal after just 13 seconds in the FA cup
  8. Allardyce has officially left Leeds now. Let's hope they don't make a move for JDT.
  9. Could see him in the MLS for sure.
  10. I can't imagine they don't have relegation clauses. Must be fairly standard practice for most clubs?
  11. Yep, big time. If a few clubs get their acts together, we won't stand much of a chance. Interestingly, a few on twitter calling it the worst premier league line up ever.
  12. As boring and predictable as it could be with Everton winning and staying up. Leicester will need to sell some players and have a bit of a rebuild but you'd expect them to throw some money at it. Leeds will probably have less clamour for their players but again, I expect they will throw money at it. Even if it's to keep the players they have. Could see Southampton having a bit of a troubled season.
  13. Bournemouth have been on the beach for the last few games, they even lost to Chelsea! Everton will beat them and send down the bottom 3 as is.
  14. Well done Luton. Unbelievable stuff really but also goes to show that money isn't always the prerequisite to getting promotion.
  15. They're both going to need some serious investment if they are doing anything other getting rinsed every week in the prem.
  16. They can say whatever they want but all they want is to win games of football. Playing attacking football and getting beat every week will get old real quick.
  17. Best hope GB has a seriously good succession plan with regards to the manager. Seems increasingly likely JDT will be getting poached.
  18. Gerrard's next job is a big one for him. Failure will likely see him on the scrapheap but his work at Rangers shouldn't be dismissed. Yes, it's the SPL and he was the manager of one of only 2 clubs that ever win it but win it he did. Hindsight is obviously a wonderful thing but probably jumped into a premier League job too soon. A move to an ambitious championship should be where he is looking and only needs to look at his mate Lampard to see how badly it can go if you keep believing your own hype and not doing the hard yards in the lower leagues for longer. That said, I doubt he'd be on Rovers list of replacements for JDT if he left.
  19. No they can't have any complaints. Thought Leeds might actually turn West Ham over but it's a poor result.
  20. Bottom 3 as it is by the looks now I'd say. Leeds had to win today. I think they'll beat Spurs but Everton will also win on the last day.
  21. Obviously, a huge, huge game for leeds tomorrow. Win that and they might just have enough to pip Everton to safety. Leeds host a wretched Spurs side on the final day and Everton have a very winnable game against Bournemouth. Leeds win tomorrow and I think they stay up. Can't see Leicester beating Newcastle, so I think they're done. It would be pretty funny seeing Everton relegated but they'd end up walking the championship next season if it happened, they'd just throw money at it and get out first time.
  22. A Coventry Vs Luton final. Madness.
