Obviously it's a good thing on the one hand but on the other,we are now celebrating more academy players filling out the bench because the squad is so thin/decimated.

None of the Rovers hierarchy, Waggott aside, would be willing to let JDT leave right now. So I assume we'd play hardball (assuming our hierarchy are capable) if Stoke made any approach. I don't know what Stokes expectations are but if they are expecting a promotion push and believe JDT is the man to deliver that, then they'll already know that they need to pay out some compo. JDT doesn't even feature in the betting (on skybet) for the next Sunderland manager but they might go for Eustace, pushing JDT higher up the Stoke wishlist.

Stoke will go for Eustace I reckon. They spent a bit in the summer by the looks of it, not sure what their expectations are though. If they were willing to back JDT with some January money, could be an option for him. He might have eyes higher up the food chain for his next move though. If they sell him the dream of a promotion push though, could tempt him.

2 losses on the bounce, a paper thin squad looking knackered and wretched home form isn't exactly inspiring a lot of confidence for this one. Szmodics aside, our attacking options are woeful. Moran is too inconsistent, Leonard isn't ready, Sigurdsson started brilliantly but his form has dropped off a cliff edge, Markanday has never been good enough. Ennis, Telalovic, Gallagher, Vale aren't good enough/permanently injured. We've recruited poorly. We can cling to the hope players (Szmodics as an example) have improved a lot over time but that means it's a waiting game and they're unlikely to contribute anything this season.

Brittain move to RB, take off Scotty, move Hill to CB. Bring Sigurdsson on the right hand side.

Poor that. Our attacks have very little end product and our defence is gift wrapping opportunities for Leeds. If it's the same again this half, and I expect it will be, it'll end 0-3 minimum.

He'll be walking for free in the summer, there isn't much of an argument for extending his contract. His high wages and lack of game time doesn't work for us when finances are so tight. JDT won't be happy though, as he's our only experienced striker and had he been fit, I think JDT would have him in the team more often than not. Not sure he'll get replaced either, Leonard will have another season under his belt, Vale (I know, I know) will be back after a season on loan and we've got Telalovic and Ennis (if ever available). That's a poor crop of strikers in anyone's book but it's 4 players for 1 position. The club wants to increase their value, they won't bring in an experienced player to block their pathway.

We won't change our style/tactics. Leeds will pick us off at ease. We make a lot of mistakes at the back (oddly enough, more so at home). It should be a straight forward win for Leeds.

It would be classic Rovers to lose to bottom of the league and then beat Leeds but I agree that we are in for a tubbing here.
