  1. We're in the throes of a classic Mowbray death spiral, a defeat here for sure.
  2. Perfect start for the new owners though. Gave Bruce his 1000th game to manage, loses, fans chant for him to be sacked, sack him in the morning, job done.
  3. Yes, this would be amazing. They'd have a way round it though, creative accounting and all that.
  4. After a positive start to the season, the same old stuff is happening again. It's all so predictable. It's been happening all the time under Mowbrays tenure. Same shit, different season. We are sliding down the league. And it's highly unlikely we will be climbing back up it anytime soon, or if we do, it will be too late in the season to trouble the play offs. The season hasn't finished, we aren't going to finish 9th, mid to lower table beckons again. Why would anyone be happy with this?
  5. Down to 9th as the slide down the league continues. "We're only X points off 6th" (X is a continuously increasing number)
  6. You don't believe it? Probably the most likely thing to happen was a Coventry equaliser. Just waiting for them to bag the winner.
  7. Poveda and Davenport on. Poveda has to step it up big time from his previous performances
  8. A back 3, just to knock the last lingering shred of confidence out of me
  9. It's a good point. I made the mistake of thinking he would be played as a striker 🤦‍♂️
  10. Good to have Lenihan and Nyambe back but to not have BBD, Gallagher and Dolan all potentially unavailable is a problem. Poveda would have to step it up significantly to make any reasonable impact. Not particularly confident of a result, which is saying something when we are playing Coventry at home.
  11. New phone case just arrived. The Mrs said it was awful, so i had to do the honorable thing and bin it. It'll be a shame to throw away 11 years of marriage but it had to be done.
  12. "Sack Bruce and get Conte or Zidane in" seems to be a common train of thought by Newcastle fans on Twitter. I'm guessing they assume that it will be that easy to attract a big name manager to St. James Park.
  13. They seem to be under the impression they should be pushing for the league title, champions league and cups. Ashley didn't invest enough to make that a reality, apparently. The rhetoric on social media now is, they are a sleeping giant which has now been woken. Other clubs, like Chelsea or City weren't as big a club as them prior to their takeovers and are therefore less deserving of billions of £'s worth of investment. It's OK though, they have got their club back. And by that, I mean, they've sold it to Saudi Arabia.
  14. The only hope is that they screw it up in typical Newcastle fashion
  15. Exactly but for whatever reason Newcastle fans deserve to be the richest club in the world. What about clubs like us? 11 years of complete mismanagement completely disregarded. What about the Derby, Bolton, Wigan, Bury fans etc who have been through way more than Newcastle. Ashley hasnt been a great owner, no disputing that but there are a lot worse out there.
  16. Where has this myth come from? Just read a tweet saying "No other fan base deserves success as much as Newcastles" Wtf?
  17. My disliking for Newcastle is more at a personal level as a lot of my mates that i grew up with are all Newcastle supporters and it was unbearable at times with some of the crap they came out with. So seeing them become the richest club in the world is a nightmare for me. I've always had the fact that we have won the PL to fight back with but they might very well get bankrolled to the title soon. Happy to see the status quo get disrupted, just not by Newcastle.
  18. Ugh, the newcastle take over is back on and it will make them the richest club in the world by some distance. Absolute, pure nightmare fuel.
  19. Didn't someone say he was off to India during this break? Chances he'll come back with a new contract?
  20. Out of the play off places now and I don't expect us to be anywhere near them again, anytime soon.
