I've never bought into the saving face line either. I've said on here previously that I've worked with teams in India for years now and generally there is very little pride in their work. When the going gets tough, or their work starts getting questioned, they just cut all comms for as long as possible and bury their heads in the sand. They can hide easier, as they are on the other side of the world. I've never seen anything, in 10 years+, that suggests there is a huge worry about what others think of them or their work. Quite the opposite, in fact.

You'd like to think that both Gueye and Ohashi will be better coming into this season, after their first one in the Championship and a full pre-season but I wouldn't expect either to be hitting more than 10 goals. Assuming VI sticks with 4-2-3-1, having better attackers in the 3 positions behind them might add more goals to their games. I assume we are looking to sign another striker though?

You could probably understand Dortmund, big club, same path his brother walked to become a huge name in the game. The other 2 though? He’ll get Champions League football at Frankfurt I suppose but you’d think, overall, he’d be better getting a season in Prem instead? Be a relegation battle but still.

Ange has technically delivered a trophy and champions league football to Spurs, so really they should stick with. If next season follows the same pattern though, they need to be sacking him pretty quickly. I can’t see how they will be successful in both the PL and Europe, so one will likely suffer.

Advanced talks would surely suggest a deal isn’t that far off? The same article also names St-Ettiene defender Mickael Nade, as an alternative. If we land this guy, I wonder if we will let Batth go?

With this lot, it’s very much a “don’t believe it until it’s done and dusted” type of situation. Signing Brittain up to a new deal would be superb but until it’s officially announced, I’ll not be getting my hopes up.

Be great news if we get Brittain tied down to a new contract. We'll need a backup, if Duru isn't considered good enough.
