  1. I assume, @glen9mullan, you're not expecting any kind of response from the club on this statement?
  2. I've said before on here but when people find out i'm a Rovers fan, the first question i generally get is "You're not still owned by that Venky's lot are you?" when the answer is "yes", they are surprised and thought they sold us years ago. The wider footballing community really doesn't give a toss about Rovers.
  3. He's not getting sacked this season, irrespective of results. I'd be inclined to believe he'd keep his job regardless of results next season. The aim, is back to being a championship club and developing young players for future profit. If we are rock bottom and being cut adrift, he'd probably go but it'll be too late by that point anyway
  4. Anyone have the inside track on how the first few days of sales have gone? Not seen the club shouting about anything, so assume it's not been too good.
  5. Travis, Hyam, Brittain, Tronstad - all shuffled out of the door with the excuse being they were all in the last year of their contracts, wouldn't sign a new one/wage demands were too high, re-shaping the squad, promoting youth.
  6. How many different groups do we have? Seems like that's always been part of the problem, so many different groups, making it difficult to unite for a common cause (albeit, the cause is Rovers, and surely should be the primary aim of all Rovers groups)
  7. So if this goes on for 10 years, that guarantee stays live for that whole duration? Not a chance they are fronting any more cash. Time to sell up.
  8. You couldn't make this up. Laughable from everyone in that Indian justice system.
  9. At the time of writing this, there are 32 comments on the Twitter post about season tickets. 100% of them are negative about the club and/or season tickets. Only 1 reply says they will renew but it still wasn't a positive comment. They're so unbelievably out of touch it's unreal. They've lost another good chunk of the fanbase now, people are perhaps finally coming round to the realisation that the club is a total shambles and there is only 1 way fix that.
  10. 😂 To think we were half expecting some surprise that the club might grow a pair, try and win back some fans and really play on the 150 year anniversary by offering £150 season tickets. Instead they have shot themselves in the foot BIG time. With supporter confidence at an all time low, they've almost gone out of their way to destroy the fragile relationship even further. I hope they've lowered their expectations this time around because it'll be 3500 adult season tickets at absolute best, this time around.
  11. Fairly confident that we will get turned over here. We don't like away games and we really don't like away games at newly promoted clubs. Couldn't have asked for a worse start if he tried.
  12. When does the Summer transfer window close? because you can bet it will be after that date.
  13. Not happened yet but the courts seem to do about an hours work and then sack the rest off. We're No.57, the last case to be heard and there is just no way they'll get to this one. I say it hasn't happened yet but they've been up for 4/5 hours already, so it might have been done and dusted already.
  14. Saying they are having a meeting with the club. @glen9mullan's post is better though!
  15. If Eustace was our manager still, I'd be re-signing Batth, Riberio and Weimann. Fairly straight forward decisions. Now that Ismael is here and seems to want to move to a possession based approach, I'm not so sure. I'd still sign up Ribeiro, I think, but no point in Batth, he isn't really the CB you want for a team passing it out from the back. Neither are Carter, Hyam and most definitely not Scott Wharton, who struggled under JDT, either tbh. Weimann probably, but it's largely down to the fact we don't have a pot to piss in, and he'll be a good option off the bench. He's an experienced championship player and has done well for us overall.
  16. Somebody, somewhere, and it could be lunch lady Doris at this point, has seen that they've finally pushed the fans too far. Now they are panicking, not because the fans will fight back but because we'll walk away. They don't care about us or the attendances but they do care about bringing in more money to stop the owners having to put more money in. "This season is about so much more than just football. It's about uniting as one club, one community, and one family." 👆 this is the line they are spouting now but it's too little, too late. season ticket sales are going to be humiliating. 4000 adult ticket sale last season, reckon we'll be lucky to shift 3000 this time.
  17. Yeah, good point. Gestede said that we receive transfer fee's instalments, as the reason we could splurge any of the £40m+ received. He failed to mention that we would be paying transfer fees in instalments though (as it destroys his shite argument)
  18. Even if you make 4 loan signings, we'll need like 8 players. If you budget £500k per player, that's £4m (+agents fees, signing on fee's etc) It's highly unlikely we'll spend that much and even if we did, 8 players with that kind of price tag aren't the ones that will be playing possession based football successfully.
  19. An apt description of what's to come this summer. I think I'll go for Clusterfuck.
  20. Ha, I meant on these boards but either I suppose. He's been very active on Twitter lately but also taking a lot of flack for telling people what to do, whilst they are in New York. Would have been interesting to try and get a bit more from him, based on these discussions he's claiming he's had.
  21. An excellent summary really. When the bulk of our signings are likely to be free transfers, loans or circa £250k, trying to get them playing like Barca will be an absolute disaster. We're basically going back to the days of Owen Coyle, champagne football on a lager budget.
  22. Same. Cheap and shite. Back on the pathway to League One.
  23. It's all just meaningless words. There won't be enough money spent to replace the high number of out going players with enough quality to do anything, let alone switch the style of play to a possession based approach. A big summer ahead but one that will likely leave us incredibly short on quality but asking players of lesser ability to play beyond their capability. It's going to be a scrap at the bottom next season.
