  1. Presumably, Pears wages would be fairly low in comparison to a competent No.1 Keeper in this league, so yeah, they'll be delighted with another 2 years of him. Wouldn't be surprised if they extend his deal in the summer.
  2. Absolutely nailed it. Also, the fucking goalkeeper has Ryvita for hands but it's not deemed a priority position?
  3. Following that interview with the 3 amigos yesterday, it's clear we're stuck with Ismael for the rest of this season, regardless of whether he wins any games or not. No idea how long they'll stick with next season if it's still tanking spectacularly. The focus is shifting towards another "developing youth project", results are secondary.
  4. Really great interview from Suhail, Waggott and Gestede. Guys, seriously, I applaud the effort 👏, you surpassed all my expectations. I wasn't expecting to be fuming until a good 10mins in, but there I was, livid after just 45 seconds. Well played 🫡 What the hell was Waggott thinking having a pop at the fans in the opening fucking line of the interview?? Obviously, plenty of bullshit throughout. My notes: Did Suhail finally admit that the club lied about the court case? He mentioned a point where the owners could not send any money at all. This was not what Waggott told us when the court case came to light. The fabled £20m has been nudged up to £22m Gestede passing off pure incompetence as an exciting time as 12 players set to leave, with more to follow the next summer and no new contracts for key players. Following that point, a further excuse trotted out that we don't know what league we'll be in, when clearly we do know. Ismael having a strong input into the "shaping" of the squad, more likely to see off the remaining higher earners, under the guise of getting in "the right" players. Suhail clearly not happy about season tickets and possibly a sly move on their part to target the next generations, a sensible plan at most clubs but here it's probably to get a new generation in, that have only known Venkys Rovers and nothing more. The excuses given for Eustace's departure were truly pathetic. This charm offensive seems to have done more harm than good, looking at the YouTube comments. It's all guff and noise as we know it won't be backed up by any meaningful action.
  5. You're right, almost like the custodians of the game should actually start doing something about it
  6. You did say that they club would come out swinging with a full on charm offensive. Absolutely bizarre situation we find ourselves in as Rovers fans, at war with the club's hierarchy. Imagine just being able to support a football team, without all this shit.
  7. 5 points off WBA, Boro and Bristol though. One of which can increase that gap to 8 on Friday night. A couple of wins and 3 teams to slip up, in order to close the gap and then a few more to sustain the charge. We basically need to win like 6 of the last 7, if not 7 of the 7. It's not happening in a million years.
  8. We all know the season is over but there will be some deluded belief at the club we can still do it because we're only 5 points behind WBA, therefore the boys will wilt under the "pressure" and Boro won't have an easier game all season.
  9. That bloke doesn't give a flying fuck about any backlash, he's had plenty from the Sheff Wed fans over the last few years. He generally fights back a bit as well, which probably isn't a good way to go about it. That said so, as much as a total clusterfuck as the Sheff Wed situation is, here at least, they've been open and honest about not paying the players. Pretty sure Waggott straight up lied about the court case our overlords are embroiled in.
  10. Unbelievable that you guys have managed to draw this guy out from the shadows after just 1 media release. Not sure what the club hope it will achieve though? Just empty words and broken promises from the bloke. Too little, too late from them.
  11. Really? Feels like exactly the type of appointment they'll make. Been shadowing a guy who's been running the show for years, the same guy who just got a massive payrise for his work. A seamless transition from one to the next. And he'll likely be cheaper than anyone else.
  12. Let's see how we're doing tomorrow then. Bolton announced 5000 season ticket sales in the first week. That is, if the club say anything about it
  13. I think if the club had something even remotely positive to boast about with season ticket sales, they would have done it by now. I suspect the sales are in the toilet, big time and the club can't find even the smallest positive angle to spin.
  14. Really does feel like the club is hitting rock bottom again.
  15. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, however if we have to downgrade on players of that quality, we'll be finishing next season rock bottom of the league.
  16. No, we don't have an U23's. 1st Team U21's U18's Ladies Team That's it (i think)
  17. 🤣 This made me laugh, way more than it should have done.
  18. Tbf, the players not getting paid would answer a lot of questions about the last 4 games!
  19. I have no reason to doubt your info, as I have 0 inside track but the club is in the black, the CEO got a cushty payrise and we've added 2 new staff to the scouting team. Can't see how we're not paying the players. Even at our lowest the players still got paid (to my knowledge) can't see it changing now. As soon as the players stop getting paid, that's when the authorities start looking (at last) and Venky's won't allow that.
  20. Look at Bournemouth, packed out stadium, great atmosphere, 1- 0 up against City (who've missed a pen), absolutely loving life. Can we ever have that again?
  21. Gotta pray to the footballing gods that we have a summer break clause in his contract.
  22. I'm more inclined to agree with you there (assuming you're talking about Mowbray), he certainly outstayed his welcome here and had some weird allergy to the playoff places but he certainly has his support amongst Rovers fans. Ah, my bad. You'd like to think he has at least 1 win in his locker between now and the end of the season but as always when you're on a horrific run of form, you just can't see where the next win comes from. Right now, I'd say we might scab a couple of draws and lose the rest.
  23. Remaining fixtures: Boro (H) Sheff Wed (H) Luton (A) Millwall (H) Sunderland (A) Watford (H) Sheff Utd (A) Can anyone see a win in there? Might get a lucky win against Sheff Wed or Milwall at home but it's highly unlikely. Did we not go down on 53 points last time? Maybe we're not out of the woods just yet 😬
  24. Mowbray had his faults, no doubts there. JDT could have been the one had he been backed and Eustace was an appointment that just suited the squad down to the ground. They were always due a total duffer again sooner rather than later after 3 good (or good enough at least) appointments.
