  1. The one downside of Morishita is that he's pretty weak, gets pushed off the ball very easily.
  2. Pleasantly surprised by that first half. Some good football at times, some frustrating football at times. Morishita showing promise, good strike that hit the bar. Hopefully Gudjohnsen gets some time, be good to see what he's about.
  3. You can see the downgrade across the squad there: Hyam > Carter Batth > Wharton Brittain > Alebiosu Travis > Tavares Dolan = Morishita (unknown at this point) Hedges now a starting player.
  4. Sorry to hear about your loss. I think you always think that your parents will be around forever, it hits hard when you lose one. I lost my dad a few years back and it was harder than I ever imagined it would be. It sounds like she's had an incredibly positive impact on you and your family, which is great to hear. Condolences to your and your family.
  5. Probably the former, if Pasha was involved.
  6. Is Carter ready? It's either him or Miller who's been half way around the world, I suppose.
  7. Not seeing this guy till next year then
  8. Diaz returns to being Brereton on the international stage.
  9. A really good performance from England, first time in quite some time i've watched a game and been impressed by what we did. Madueke was superb, a proper winger. Put in the type of performance we've been missing for years. Thought Anderson was superb also, with performances like that, he'll be keeping Wharton waiting a bit longer for a place in the team. Rogers played well, a great option to have going forward. Saka takes Gordon's place and you bring Bellingham back in and we're looking even better. We really need another striker. If Kane is injured/rested we're looking at Watkins, who's a good player but he's not top level and we'll struggle if we need to rely on him for any reasonable length of time. I think Tuchel has to make us greater than the sum of our parts in the main and then use the likes of Kane/Bellingham to grab that vital goal/moment of magic ad we could be onto something. It's 1 performance but it's been badly needed for sooo long.
  10. Nuno signed his own P45 when he called out the owner. That guy is bat shit crazy and won't stand for that from his manager. Crazy decision to appoint Ange, entertainment for the neutral though.
  11. They've not said anything you wouldn't expect them to in an interview like that. Back on with another project, which will take a few years to bare any fruit, by which time the owners will have gotten bored and changed their minds again. As others have pointed out, it seems the better players aren't on board with the self imposed wage cap and obviously have refused dismal new contracts at the club, as we all expected was the case. Another, presumably deliberate, slip by Rudy was that there "are others in that situation" (1 year left on their contracts), and that something might have to be looked at in January. Paving the way for a Tronstad exit in a few months. A couple of slight digs at the fans needing to turn up and get behind the players on a matchday and about the coalition's stay away statement.
  12. What will you do with your spare time now @wilsdenrover? 😁 I am genuinely thankful for your efforts on this whole thing, really appreciated, especially as you took the time to explain things out to halfwits like me!
  13. It will have been "up to" Β£1.5m and we wouldn't be paying anywhere near it.
  14. I don't rate Gueye that much but you'd think he'd have some uses as a "plan b" off the bench. Gudjohnsen best be up to it because otherwise we're in big trouble
  15. We really don't want to be switching to a back 3. Outside of the elite teams, they rarely work in the medium to long term for teams.
  16. I like Ohashi and he's done ok, nothing amazing I wouldn't say. I think he struggles to lead the line in general and our attack is quite poor overall. No reason not to try something different.
  17. Well, he's opened the door to discuss the whole summer clusterfuck. Enjoy!
  18. You've gotta assume, despite his ego/power trip, if this plays out as expected (decimates the squad, we get relegated) his rep will take a big hit? Cutting off his nose to spite his face. I know even K**n & C***e keep getting work in the game but they've fallen a long way.
  19. πŸ˜‚ I hope they aren't expecting a flurry of positive questions! Like trying to find a piece of hay, in a massive stack full of needles.
  20. Hedges being catapulted from "should be sold/released" to "first name on the team sheet", tells you everything you need to know about this summers business.
  21. Not just because he's always injured, I mean if both were fully fit, I'd start Hyam over Carter. Also a possibility that the Carter/Hyam partnership just never really worked but just feel Hyam was the better player.
  22. It certainly seems like Gestede has been given full control over this summers transfer business. Make no mistake, Pasha is showing his true snake form here, letting Gestede off the lead puts all the pressure on him and takes the focus away from himself. When this all goes tits up, he shoves RG in front of the firing squad and gives the order "ready, aim, fire". He goes back to his masters with the solutions and the cycle restarts again.
