If you think the squad they have is good enough for the top 2, then surely the problem is the manager? Problem is, how much longer do you give him? 10 games isn't a lot, i agree, and if you're happy to wait it out and go for promotion the following season whilst the new manager gets to grips with things, then fair enough but Watford aren't prepared for that, they want promotion this season.

Watford aren't interested in a top 6 finish, they want a top 2 finish. Edwards wasn't delivering that and they are already losing ground on the top 2. The owners are a problem, in that they want/expect instant success. It's all about money and you don't get any money in the Championship. The problem for them is, as a championship club they seem attract managers good enough to get them up but not good enough to stay up. Yes it's madness they go through managers like there is no tomorrow but we had 5 years of Mowbray and where did it leave us?

Watford certainly don't mess about. 10th after 10 games, only 3 wins and nearly 10 points off top spot. I'm sure their owners were expecting much better, certainly after they held onto Pedro and Sarr over the summer. Edwards was always a strange choice, having only had experience with Forest Green and Telford. Sounds like Bilic is going there which should serve them much better,

To an extent but it's also to sell them down the line. They go hand in hand, play well for us and we sell them for big fees. That's the plan, we don't bring enough revenue in and we need to start getting to grips with player trading as we've been abysmal at it for a long time. Bring players through the academy, get them into the first team, flog them for big money, rinse, repeat. Sounds easier than it actually will be but the club hierarchy will already have an eye on Phillips and Wharton being big future transfer sales.

Leicester soundly beaten by Spurs. 7 games in, 0 wind, bottom of the league. How long will they stick with Rodgers, must be on thin ice at least. How long will Forest give Cooper as well? Signed an astonishing amount of players and that will take some time settle down but time isn't a luxury they have. Presumably they need to survive, as they must have spent a fair bit and handed out some healthy contracts to these players. Already lost to both Fulham and Bournemouth at home as well. Early days for both yet but owners might start getting itchy trigger fingers if results don't pick up sharpish.

JDT seems to be hanging his hat on the break in November. Following that he seems to believe we will be a much more consistent team. It's always a risk sticking a timeframe on something like that. In any case I think the starting 11 needs some work, across a transfer window or 2 before we will start to stamp out these old habits. It's going to be a frustrating season.
