  1. Fucks sake Ayala. Rovers love to implode.
  2. Yup, can't see it ending any other way tbh
  3. No there won't be any repercussions if we put in another no show, as you've said we've had enough no shows already this season. I live in hope that we will see a reaction but it is hope rather than expectation.
  4. Not overly confident about today, especially with Hyam missing. Getting stuffed 4-0 by Rotherham was an unacceptable result, so they absolutely need to grow a pair and put in a performance.
  5. Good free kick from that lad as well tbf. Saw his name mentioned on here quite a lot before he signed for that lot. So just adds to the pain I guess. Came from a goal down to boot. Ah well, back on with the journey I guess.
  6. Oh yeah, I agree, it will take time. But we're still going to complain that 4 players left for nothing 😋
  7. It's all about replacements. You said "can we get over players leaving for free" then cited 2 clubs who have (borderline) infinite resources to replace those players with ones of equal or greater quality. It's not the fact that players throughout the world leave clubs for free, it's that players leave OUR club for free. If our broke ass club continues to let any players with value walk for free, their replacements will be free transfers, loans or league 1 players, who are likely to be worse than those that left. If we were better with our player trading we could sell our valuable players when the time is right and use some of that money to bring in good replacements. Replacements are relevant, it's other clubs that aren't. It's what Rovers do that matters and at the moment we are incredibly poor at gaining any income from players sales.
  8. The comparison between us and those 2 clubs is ridiculous. Both of those clubs can and have gone out and spent astonishing amounts of money on replacements.
  9. Trossard off to Arsenal by the looks, might put an end to them loaning out Undav, in the short term at least.
  10. No I don't rate him either tbh, he's also 36, so would make sense to get someone like Raya in with a view to replacing him.
  11. Would Chelsea be looking to sign him? They've already got Kepa and Mendy, that's like £100m spent on the 2 keepers they already have. Man Utd might be looking more long term for a successor to De Gea but he's only 32. I could see Spurs going for him though to replace Lloris.
  12. Bournemouth signing a winger/attacker for £27m. Might free up Dembele for a move/loan.
  13. Looks like that guy is off somewhere!
  14. Good move for him and if it happens I'll be happy for him. But it's the worst outcome for Rovers, another valuable player walking for nothing.
  15. James Brown has now joined Donny on loan. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2023/january/17/brown-makes-doncaster-switch/
  16. Yeah, they'll be able to offer better wages you'd assume, especially if he signs for them and gets loaned to Watford, avoiding any FFP restrictions.
  17. Good bit of forward planning tbf, if he's a good player that it is. Don't think Carter will make the step up, so getting him and Ayala off the books leaves us a bit short.
  18. Bonkers the amount of potential money we've let walk out of the door. And for what? Only chance we have now, unless he's off to Spain in the summer, is a desperate Prem club like Everton or West Ham hitting the panic button and giving us £5+ and tempting him into the prem with silly money. We invested so much money and time into him, the aim was always to make a profit on what we paid for him, surely? And yet we just let him walk for nothing but still complain about the restrictions FFP put on us 🤷🏻‍♂️
  19. He'll likely fall into the category of achieving excellent things with a smaller club but not able to cut it at the higher level.
  20. Not trying to defend anything here but in that podcast with GB, he also stated that they wanted to have Wharton, Garrett and Phillips in a similar position to Morton by the end of the season. As in, they train with the first team and by the season ends, have made a handful or so number of appearances. This with the intention they play a bigger role next season. We had a few injuries at cb and they discussed the possibility of loaning in another one but JDT decided to play Phillips instead. By all accounts, all 3 are ahead of where they expected them to be by now. Morton was brought in as temporary player, he had more experience at first team level than Wharton and Garrett and was always brought in to play more games, as the other 2 are integrated into the team more. assume the idea was Trav, Buckley and Morton would be the 3 main players in CM and the other 2 would be integrated over the course of the season. Injuries, form and suspension have pushed them a bit closer than expected though. Morton goes back in the summer and we have 2 players ready to step up more next season, is the plan I guess.
  21. Rovers twitter account posting it's "goal of the day" about Dacky scoring past Rotherham back in 2018. Went down so well, they've had to delete it 😂
  22. That is exactly the plan. It's been said several times already, bring players like Garrett, Phillips and Wharton into the first team and sell them for good money. The aim is to be "self sustainable". This isn't a class of 92, we are developing them to sell.
  23. Absolutely unacceptable result and performance. JDT best be apologising for this post game.
  24. It was never sustainable. Just like the losses column. The retort was always "but we're 3rd!" We are unlikely to be 3rd come 5pm today though. Probs not out of the playoffs but that will follow soon after.
