100% It's Like having Mowbray backing charge. -

Window is officially open, let's hope Broughton and his team have done their homework. Centre mid and a striker are essential. Some pace would also be very welcome. -

On loan at Stockport for the season. No idea how long his contract was when he signed. Already in his mid 20's, so not exactly a young and up and coming player anymore. -

My confidence is pretty low for the team and manager right now. All the stats point to Cardiff being poor which generally means they'll get a late Xmas gift at Ewood. 0-1 Cardiff. -

No, and we're getting players like Hirst. -

Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach

Just like it was a lot under Mowbray, our better moments in games/goals seem to come about from doing the opposite of what the manager talks about in interviews. The loss and goal difference columns are abysmal and are the worst in the top 10, losses nearly the worst in the division. We struggle to create decent chances in games and we now can't keep the ball out of the net. Our general play is quite poor, we barely get 2 passes together before giving it away and seem to believe that playing out from the back is the way forward. This often gets us 5 yards past our own 18 yard box before inexplicably giving it back to the opposition. This has been going on all season, previously it was covered up by the WLWL form we had. Worrying times really. A slide down the table is inevitable, just depends how far we slide. There is always one team that slides down the league and one the rises, we always seem to the be the former. Frustrating. -

For now. Could be out of the play offs altogether by the end of the next game. (A loss and results go against us) -

We now have the same amount of losses as Blackpool (12), who are 23rd and only Hudds 13 losses (22nd) and Wigan 13 losses (24th) have more than us. It was never sustainable and it's now catching us up. We are an awful football team. -

We're absolutely horrific, can barely string 2 passes together. STILL trying to play it out from the back and failing. -

This. Red card or not, you can't control what the officials do but you can decide not to throw the ball at the Boro players head and press the officials into making a decision. -

Again, you look at the bench and we have no one to bring in that can do anything. Basically damage limitation at best. -

Suicidal football with 10 men now. We seem intent on losing. -

Irrespective, it's likely to cost us any points. Stupid for him to do but not really a red card offence. -

According to Google, yep, you're correct, goals against. So now we can't score and concede for fun. Great. -

What the hell is xGa? -
I originally predicted 14th - 20th. I'll bump it up 1 pack to 7th - 13th. In previous years we've bottled it when pressure has been on and then played much better when there is nothing to play for. The slide will continue and we'll drop down the table before putting some results together when it's too late.

Hirst needs sending back, his contributions have been abysmal. Most of the time you don't even know he's on the field. Not all his fault as the midfield have been woeful getting service to any attackers but still, he doesn't put himself about or try and make anything happen either. -

Yeah more than happy if he brings others into play, get assists, holds up the ball, bullies defenders etc. But yeah, the problem is the rest of them are hardly prolific. -

Possibly, a quick Google shows this guy to be a 32 year old Norwegian striker. Had his contract cancelled at Cardiff after just 1 year (6 months of which were on loan at Celtic). Assume he has more about him than goals, as his record looks reasonably poor. -

Sadly, not able to get Dack in for that formation. Back 5 picks itself with current form/injuries. Not convinced JRC will keep up his form but he's done well in the last 2 games, so retains his place and there is no alternative. Midfield 3: Hedges on the right, he's mobile, hard working and has good technique. Should be able to link well with the RB and RW and able to support the attack and defence as he can cover a lot of ground. Travis back in the middle. Man of the moment for all the wrong reasons but he'll graft and get a tackle in. Defensive midfielder so only job is to win the ball back and pass it to Wharton/Hedges. No playing out from the back to isolate him on the edge of his own box. A. Wharton on the left. Not as mobile as Hedges but has obvious talent. Good technique which, like Hedges, should allow him to link well with the LB and LW. Works hard so can support attack and defence but lacks pace but that's a problem throughout the whole squad. Attack: Gallagher through the middle. Needs to use his physical attributes to hold off defenders better, hold up the ball and drop in slightly to open up the space for the wingers. BBD on the left, same as usual. Link up with Wharton will hopefully see him less isolated and if Gallagher pulls the defenders about a bit, should leave gaps for BBD to exploit. Markanday on the RW, not as convinced about this lad as others seem to be but he has a bit of pace and trickery to try and trouble defenders. Same as BBD, try to exploit the gaps created by Gallagher. Front 3 and midfield 3 to press the opposition when they have the ball.
