  1. A professional footballer and he couldn't even take a throw in. Unbelievable
  2. Basically, yep it will. Even more frustrating is that we were apparently looking at some and decided against it. WTF?
  3. Hang on! Red card Possibly bad news for us as we will struggle to break them down.
  4. These lot are there for the taking. Will Tony something to go for it? Or more like wait for Sheff to do something first and then react?
  5. Some stat that but you know, Venkys love breaking Rovers records. Problem is, they're always for something shite.
  6. Must win game if there ever was one. Sheff Utd will close the gap on us to 1 point with a game in hand if they win. QPR up next and Fulham after that. Boro close behind with a game in hand on us as well. A lot of pressure going into this (and the next game after). Screw this up and we could be outside the playoffs after the QPR game. Not even going to call it but these next 2 games are huge.
  7. Next 3 games will define him and the season looking at it. Sheff Utd, QPR and Fulham, by then we'll know if he's really got it in him to do anything at Rovers but I wouldn't even consider offering him a new contract until the season is over. I suspect after those games, we will be pointing towards a good run at the end of the season to get us back into the playoffs. Mowbray has definitely brought about good stability and spirit to the team and way beyond the Chaos that Coyle left behind but like Bowyer before him, he doesn't have or is unable to instill, a proper winning mentality into the squad. We concede first and we cannot turn a game around, it's a draw at best but more likely a loss. Any ruthlessness we have only appears in purple patches but more often than not, even when teams give us an advantage (either by giving us the ball or having a player sent off) we don't/can't capitalise on it. He's done well to get us back on a decent footing, brining some good, young players into the squad but he's never getting us to where we need to be. This season is the best chance we've had of getting promoted and you can already feel it slipping away from us.
  8. I think we'll fall short of the play offs. We seem to have terrible luck with injuries and under Mowbray we have always been streaky, hitting rich viens of form (normally when it's too late), followed by Barron spells. We aren't scoring any goals at the moment and we have been poor in some game recently. West Brom, Forest and Boro all pushing to get into the playoffs and I'd expect them to nudge us out over the remainder of the season. Mowbray is reverting to type with some odd stuff (starting Zeefuick over Nyambe (criminal decision), Hedges to right back etc.)) Which won't help. Got to look back at January as a missed opportunity as well, failing to bring in a striker is now costing us big time with BBD out of sorts and no goals elsewhere in the team. That's no goals in 4 games now.
  9. Missed the game as I was playing footy but on the face of it a 0-0 doesn't seem like the worst result but thats purely because I don't know how the game went. Got back to see Dolan clear on off the line though!
  10. Brilliant news that. He's a great keeper. Was fully expecting to leave for nothing or be sold for a cut-price fee.
  11. https://www.sportbible.com/football/nottingham-forest-fan-managed-to-sneak-a-massive-speaker-in-ewood-park-20220210?source=facebook at least forest fans enjoyed themselves. How are they getting that into the ground though?
  12. I think opposition managers have worked us out. If you look back through some of the wins pre-xmas, Bournemouth, PNE, Stoke, Birmingham etc. We had less possession and made far fewer passes than the opposition as well. Last night, despite going a man down, we managed to shade the possession and had more passes. The attackers and midfielders pressed in the right areas and we often won the ball back between the halfway line and the opposition penalty area, which allowed us to get some chances created. Sometimes it was just a case of a ball over the top and we were in. Now, teams give us the possession, knowing we can't do anything with it. Sit a touch deeper and frustrate us. A common theme under Mowbrays Rovers, we cannot break a compact, organised team down. Never have been able to. But we can't press the opposition in the areas we used to because we have the ball to start with. Our tactics aren't working because the opposition aren't letting us do it anymore. The pressing last night went to pot, people pressing all over the place, leaving huge gaps everywhere. Why was Lenihan even in the position he was when he got sent off? He's 1 of 3 centre backs not the right wing back. He's been pushing forward a lot in the last few games, to the point where he was putting crosses in against Swansea. Why the hell is he doing that? All in all, we can't go back to what we were doing, unless the opposition plays into our hands. We absolutely need a plan B, which will probably end up being plan A. This game will be tough, Bruce will have his team sitting deep and they will give us the ball.
  13. He's got to change it up. Probably a formation change as well, the current set up isn't working. Ayala has to come back in but if we switch to 4-3-3, it would mean dropping one of JPVH or Wharton. Mowbray won't do that but I think we should. Buckley on the bench, along with Zeefuick. Not sure if Pickering is back but straight back in of so. --------------------Kaminski Nyambe--Ayala--Wharton--Pickering -----Rothwell----Trav-----Giles Khadra--------Gallagher-----BBD Something like that. Could swap Rothwell or Giles out, maybe even for Bucko as it's takes him out of the false 9 crap. I dunno, I feel like if we go in with the same as last night, we'll just get beat again. Gotta do something to arrest this slump.
  14. Jesus. 4 more losses coming up then. Just the right amount to see us drop out of the playoffs altogether.
  15. His effort was so tame it was unbelievable. How can he be so bad in front of goal?
  16. We aren't even going to make the playoffs. Boro and Forest can both catch us in the next few games and have games in hand to aid their cause. We'll get some form back when it's too late and we'll be chasing the pack, ultimately falling short. Standard Mowbray, too little, too late.
  17. The death spiral in full flow. Always of our own making as well.
  18. We are all over the place. It's all desperate stuff as well. Some really pointless/needless fouls.
  19. Nar, yellow was about right. Just a push, nothing else, wasn't it?
  20. We go to ground very easily these days.
