  1. The line has always been "Judge him at the end of the window" So, judge away!
  2. Do you think Williams will play? He didn't get any pre-season games in at all? He can't be up to match fitness already.
  3. Going forward, i'd probably go the same but i'm sure i read that Cunningham won't be playing tomorrow. He needs to start getting Rothwell on the field from the off though and dropping Bennett from right back.
  4. Johnson for me. Big imposing figure, knows the league, has the experience & should be a respected member of the dressing room. I also like Centre mids as captains. When the chips are down, they can impose themselves on the game more, get crunching tackles in and lead by example. Doesn't matter to me if he's a new signing.
  5. Yer, true. Pay off it is then.
  6. It's an interesting point to be fair. If it was indeed a bust up that saw his hasty exit, it's unlikely Mowbray would want him back. There is a possibility that Mowbray won't be our manager next season, so the new manager might want Mulgrew back. There is a good chance, we will just give him away for free in the summer to avoid shelling out on his wages.
  7. Reed is a significant upgrade on Evans. Energy, workrate, tackling, technical ability all a cut above Evans. In his 1 season with us, he scored 3 goals as well, which is just 1 less than Evans had manage in his entire Rovers career. Having Travis, Johnson and Reed for our Centre mid options would have been a superb choice of players. Those 3 would have worked superbly for a 3 man midfield as well.
  8. Be interesting to see if anyone has the inside track on this move. A few pages back, someone mentioned a potential bust up with TM and CM, following the Charlton disaster. We needed to phase Mulgrew out over the course of the season so him leaving isn't a problem as such. The problem is, we are light on centre backs and we really needed to sign one. Let's hope we have a free transfer lined up (but not Rodwell)
  9. That would be my choice also.
  10. So then, with Mulgrew gone. Lenihan or Johnson for captain?. It can't be anyone else. Mowbray could make a similar mistake to what Coyle did when he made J-Lowe captain by giving it to Bennett.
  11. He might even stick with Bennett. but Willo and Bell most likely. Should be last chance saloon for Bell.
  12. A lot of clubs can't announce deals until the window is shut, as they can submit the paperwork before the deadline but it needs to be approved/signed off by the league. Cardiff announced his departure at a similar time.
  13. Reed would have been an excellent addition to our squad. Has a bit of versatility about him, which Mowbray loves. Beyond Johnson and Travis, our centre mid options aren't great. Smallwood and Evan's aren't particularly good and Davenport is turning into the new Vinnie Grella.
  14. That's a good shout to be fair. With all the banter and stuff you see from the club and players social media, it sometimes needs something like this to give people a kick up the backside.
  15. Left work. Nothing happening. Got home, checked the boards. Fucking chaos. Jesus christ Mowbray, what are you doing here?
  16. 20mins, doesn't feel like it's going to happen
  17. Great stuff. Hope this one comes off then. I guess that pushes Willo more into a centre back role, so i can;t see any other signings coming in
  18. Normally a reliable source as well.
  19. Magloire has gone on loan. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/august/magloire-makes-loan-move/
  20. You know it's bad when Chaddy is slating it
  21. Too late to be flogging him now. Even if all the money was reinvested into the squad, we wouldn't get a deal over the line in time.
  22. Yer sorry I thought you meant Mulgrew would do a job at left back.
  23. Was just about to say its Assombalonga all over again!! Let's hope this one comes off.
  24. Assuming you mean at left back, that's exactly how Mowbray thinks and one of the main reasons we are in this defensive mess in the first place.
