January Transfer Window.

I don;'t know the man but he shouldn't have laughed at Lenihan. All players are proud of their ability and have ambitions and Lenihan was not unreasonable in hoping for a top flight move. There are plenty of defenders worse than him in the Premier League -

So here we are, 3 days until the window closes and we've got one player in on loan until the end of the season He can't get in Huddersfield's team at present and is out of form but hey, let's hope he does well In this any different to the last window and most of the others in recent years - and is it a wake-up call for Tomasson as to how this dysfunctional club operates? I'm sure he was expecting some better players to be coming in and would have been promised such by the management when he took over. Maybe he's about to become as disappointed and disillusioned as the rest of us -
England well and truly made a mess of that run chase.

Yep, new regime but same old failed strategies. Common demoninators are one up the food chain -

The lad can do it at Championship level clearly and would be an asset to the team if he's got his head on right Offer him a deal at less than half his current wages on the last day and leave it on the table -

The best run clubs plan ahead, do all the groundwork in November / December, get the deals lined up, negotiations done and dusted, and signatures only required in January. Then there are other clubs that fly by the seats of their pants and hope for the best -

You're not the only one - it's like being in a school playground when he's on here ..... because it shows all his best moments and cuts out the rubbish. Hardly surprising I remember that full back we signed from Berlin a while back - looked great on U-Tube but turned out to be useless Let's hope this new lad Thomas isn't the same. -

Saka cuts in from the right on his left foot all the time and is one of England's best players. Robben did the same at Bayern. Now I know our new lad isn't in their league but it can be effective -

Looking at his "assists" on t'internet, alot of them have come from corners. Thomas certainly has a good 3-iron in his left boot, driving hard, flat balls into the 6-yard box but who's going to get on the end of them? Certainly not Gallagher or Vale -

Thanks for this. Excellent research on the player which I was looking for until a know-nowt intervened Ignoring the social media stuff it seems he could be an asset if we can get him back to the form of last season and we don't have a genuine winger Let's hope he's the first of a few coming in including (in descending order) a goal-scoring big lump up front in the Danny Graham mould and a seasoned Championship bruiser in midfield -

The bottom line is he's cheap and he's available and he's another loan, but not necessarily what the team needs most That fits the Project model -

This has been pointed out, and the fact he can't get a place in a team that's near the bottom of the league -

I wouldn't say it's pointless because the team needs pace and we don't have a genuine winger But when a struggling club like Huddersfield presumably don't deem him good enough and they've just signed 2 more wingers then you have to ask questions as to why we're taking him on -

No one mentioned a "second coming" - only you. I merely asked the question as to why, if he's so good at "assists", Huddersfield are letting him go -

I also asked why fans so keen on him and why are Hudds letting him go -

Wingers can score goals too The question remains, why are members so keen on him and why are Hudds letting him go? -

3 goals in 70 apps for Huddersfield. Why the enthusiasm for Thomas and why are Hudds letting him go? -

Hughes and Souness were a different place and time. It’s been pointed out that Sam was perfect for us at that particular turbulent period and to rock the boat further by sacking him was a bad idea. So yes you can role the dice and sometimes get lucky and find a gem of a manager but the chances are you won’t - as we’ve found out -

Several nails struck firmly on the head in that post. Should be pinned to the top of the message board in eternity The only amendment I would make is that the decision to sack him WAS ludicrous, in fact it was worse , it was one of those WTF moments (rather like Brexit) when you think the world has gone mad and (owing to age and experience) you just get that feeling in your gut that it was an incredibly bad move and would have disastrous long term consequences. Agree with the comment about the ludicrous fans who still can’t see it. Clowns is too complimentary though because clowns are entertaining. They’re just fools -

When was the "afterwards"? When he'd become a big star at Dortmund and Rovers were back down in the second division? Speaking in 2017, Lewandowski said: "I could not fly to Blackburn because of the volcano but I wanted to go there just to see what the club is like because I didn't know back then where I was going because if I travelled there, I would then know which is the best club for me. "Maybe if I went there and saw the club, the stadium and everything, it would have become my first choice". Ultimately the volcananic ash cloud and John Williams getting cold feet over paying £3-4m for a young Pole ultimately scuppered the deal but there's little doubt he was lined up and could easily have ended up at Ewood Sam's got some questions to answer but there's no doubt he was good for Rovers and Rovers were good for him. If he'd been given a fraction of the money his successors wasted on poor players we'd have been OK under him for years in the Prem
