Beat me to it ..... just seen that on Twitter. Amazingly good considering its age -
The Premier League is a multi-billion pound industry yet 8 of the 20 clubs have not confirmed that they pay the real living wage to all their staff. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62996172 Outside of the Premier League, Luton Town of the Championship and League Two Grimsby Town are the only two Living Wage Foundation-accredited clubs in the English Football League This is important. There is a cost of living crisis and many people and families are struggling. The least football clubs can do is pay their staff, either permanent or temporary, a real living wage I'd like to see Rovers on the list of clubs that have the decency to pay their staff a real living wage. The multi-millionaire managers who run Rovers have the power to do so if they wished.
-
At least two of Newcastle, West Ham, Southampton, Brighton, Everton, Palace, Wolves will go down in the next few years. It's inevitable because they don't have the long term financial firepower and they will make mistakes. The best they can hope for is to be like a few others and bounce back straightaway - yo-yo clubs but not sustainable as top-flight Premier League powers.. I'd love us to be a yo-yo club, because it meant we were at least in the game. At the moment, our ongoing year-on year projects under different managers deliver nothing.
-
So Rovers are a "sustainable PL club" - that's news to alot of fans I'd love us to be a Norwich or Watford. Fact is, staying in the Premier League is unsustainable for nearly every club outside the top 6 or so
-
Watford's hire and fire policy has been very successful - compare and contrast with our stagnation over the past 5 years while Tony built his "project". We got rid of Appleton and Berg pretty quickly so there's no reason why Tomasson shouldn't get the bullet too if things go wrong. If I were the owner I'd give him a one-season mandate and if he didn't achieve it I'd get rid and try elsewhere. Life's too short
-
Managers/coaches are ten a penny but a good one is hard to find. When you realise you've got a dud you get rid and hope the next one is better. "Projects" and "giving them time" rarely work. When will Rovers come to the conclusion Tomasson's no better than Mowbray?

Even with 12 players we wouldn't have beaten Luton on Saturday Good ploy though - I wonder if the ref will notice? -
Lineker basically told Walker he was too good to sign for a small club like BRFC "Shame Blackburn went down," he also said on a TV sports quiz show after we were relegated in 1999 You remember things like that.

Hirst is 23 ....... he's not a promising youngster. If he'd been a real prospect, he'd have been a first team regular somewhere a few years ago. He could be a late developer of course, but that's unlikely, and the likelihood he just isn't very good at all. I don't know why we've been signed him - watching him at Luton yesterday he just doesn't have the strength or technique to play as a Championship striker -

I was in the Nuttall, towards the (away) Darwen End. They were throwing beer bottles, anything they could lay their hands on. Nice chaps Great game, one of the best I've ever seen. -
A "project"?
-
Nathan Jones of Luton one of the favourites to replace Morrison according to reports. He'd fit the bill and certainly has had the measure of Rovers in recent years. He was far more astute than Tomasson yesterday I wonder if Morrison told Tan that he had a "project" and needed time? I also wonder if Tan would have jettisoned Tomasson by now

What a match that was..... one of the most memorable games in 5 decades of watching Liverpool fans weren't happy at the end 😀 -

Yes agree. Marshall’s misfit’s. A beautiful and talented team On the pointless passing debate you have to say Nathan Jones spotted this in the first half and told his team just to press Rovers higher up and the mistakes would come The big lump Morris, who looked like a non league player in the first half, was more aggressive and our nice boys just wilted under the pressure We are so easy to play against and beat I don’t know why all managers don’t do the same -

What were our tactics? I didn’t see much of an attacking plan except to contain and hope for the best. Jones had a look at us in the first half, saw what was needed, adjusted his team accordingly and won the match. Tomasson needs to wise up to this league - there are no easy matches and weak teams like Rovers were today get found out -

And another thing Before kick off for the second half Luton were going through a load of drills, sprints etc getting ready to play Our lot were standing around Guess which team started the half on the front foot? -

Brittain was our best player and our most potent attacking threat. The lad's a proper footballer The rest didn't turn up. Brereton was abysmal -

You're telling me. You have to hand it to Nathan Jones. After a dull first half he just told his side to get in our faces and we duly capitulated. Ayala does my head in ..... almost all the pressure came on us because he likes poncing about with the ball at the back. Kaminski is as bad It took us to about the 70th minute to get in their half -

This Absolute madness those first 20 minutes of the second half Ayala and Wharton and Kaminski brought that defeat on us And JDT for letting them do it Luton raised their game for a short period and we caved in The rest of the 90 minutes was a load of nothingness I feel more depressed than after the Reading game -
