  1. We signed him from Preston; he left Rovers to join Hull. Good footballer
  2. If that's him being "happy and excited" Hyam must be suicidal on his bad days. Hyam sounds southern - perhaps he's not keen on being sent to darkest East Lancs. Let's hope he's followed at least 1 more incoming player this week. As others have said, my preference would be for a midfield tyro to strengthen the team physically and help Travis and another proven forward if possible.
  3. Three wins followed by three defeats. The knives are out but if it had been WLWLWL would fans be so concerned because overall it’s mid table form which is about this squad’s level at the moment. More concerning is the way we’re playing and the direction of travel because assuming we don’t get more and better players in before the deadline this is the squad that Tomasson will have to work with Unless you believe in the saying that you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear you just have to hope he can make something of them . The second half yesterday provided some hope but he’s got a tough task on his hands. We’re about to find out if he’s a good manager or not.
  4. John Coates is a billionaire on the back of the online betting industry so I doubt he has any scruples.
  5. Quill and ink poised. Won’t be long on current form
  6. You couldn't possibly know they will be better considering Hyam, Caulker and Morton have yet to play in the Championship for Rovers. Thank for proving the point though that you and a few others hype up players that Rovers sign even when you don't know anything about them.
  7. Yes, I know. Even Zeefuik (sp?) looked good!. And that's the point, some fans have already declared Hyam is a good signing after watching him run about a bit on YouTube
  8. A load of D-listers there Chaddy. None of them (apart from Brittain maybe) make us stronger than last season
  9. No sweat, Rev. It did cause some distress though
  10. It would also help if people praising a player knew something about the player they were praising.
  11. They're low down the list because they're obviously not first choice. We know who those players are. So at best, they're 3rd or 4th choices, which makes them C or D listers. The question is, now you've scouted them on YouTube do they pass the "quality" test you were demanding?
  12. Agreed. The 2 league defeats showed up our lack of strength and bite in midfield. We were comprehensively outbattled. Desperately need another "enforcer" type who can play a bit. The money we wasted on Szmodics could have been spent on one.
  13. You have to say even if the mooted signings come off the squad is still weaker than the one which finished last season. And we could yet lose Brereton - who will HAVE to be replaced. Basically, we're spending money to stand still
  14. Chaddy called for 4 or 5 "quality" signings. I'm sure he didn't mean low quality
  15. Caulker's a good signing by all accounts. Whose accounts they are and whether they've been verified by a qualified and independent witness isn't clear. Perhaps best to avoid judgments made "by all accounts". They can't be trusted Let's hope the lad proves a good signing but you can't help but feel he's been brought in when all the other options were exhausted
  16. "Failed to back him in the transfer market"..... does that include Van Hecke? Failed to back him in the transfer market ......Tomasson might be next
  17. Desperation signing because none of the "targets" have come off Shows where we at - fishing amongst the dregs Can't understand why anyone would "happy" with it
  18. Agree with this. Like Armstrong, Brereton will struggle IMO in the fishbowl of the Premier League where all his flaws will be exposed. I think he'd do well in Spain
  19. FWIW I don't think we have anything to worry about if BBD leaves. Fans anxious on FOMO on a new striker can rest easy knowing our DOF will have earmarked his replacement and ready to sign on the dotted line within 24 hours. Hopefully we'll have enough cash from the sale to BOGOF and get 2 strikes for the price of one. QED and all that. Let's hope it's not SNAFU though and the money disappears in a Venky's black hole. I love acronyms
  20. Everton have thrown alot of money at the transfer market in recent years, overpaying for some very ordinary players. Brerton would be another. Although he's got more about him than Armstrong, who it was easy to foresee would struggle in the Premier League, I don't think he's got what it takes to be a success in the top flight.
  21. And which based on your [unproven] figures showed why it was possible to keep him and not have to spend £2.5m replacing him. But this seems hard for you to work out.
  22. You'll get the hang of acronyms eventually.
