  1. Sorry to hear that. Get well soon, or GWS.
  2. Reading ..... part 2. This squad just isn't big enough, physically strong enough, or good enough.
  3. Sam Gallagher on the right wing again - if this had been Mowbray the knives would be out Buckley needs to step up today - sitting back and exchanging little passes with the back 4 or 5 isn't enough. He needs to get forward and start testing the opposition
  4. Brereton by no stretch of the imagination can be classed as a top rank striker. If United are seriously looking at him it shows how far they've have fallen.
  5. "Not too fussed" about losing a 20-25 goal striker on the unlikely proviso on past form that an adequate replacement is identified and signed in the coming days doesn't make any sense at all
  6. It won't work - the best ones will get pinched by the "big" clubs in their teens and long before they mature as players to make a difference to the Rovers first team It's been going on for years - right back to Franz Carr. Jones is another example and Phillips likely to follow Players like Lenihan and Nyambe will stay for a few years but you need a constant production line of these players to make a difference. Do we have the resources to do that and is it sustainable considering that personnel are changing all the time making long-term planning very difficult?
  7. It would be a good thing but there's probably legal reasons why it can't be done You're brave posting that. The last person to post speculative info got pounced on
  8. Dose of reality for once. Pour a glass of Lidl's finest as a reward I was shocked how bad we were at Reading. SheffU could bang in 5 if we're not up for it
  9. You have to hope the Van Hecke rumours are not true. It would be deeply disappointing if he picked the likes of Sunderland over us. The lad made a huge impression at Ewood last season and seemed open to a return. I wonder if he was at Reading on Wednesday night? That performance would have put off any prospective signing
  10. It was posted tongue in cheek but I didn't expect a capitulation They can't bat, they can't bowl and they can't field. Send them home and sack the board
  11. And there goes Crawley. That's the end for him now
  12. SA lead by 160 plus runs on first innings. England bowled out and innings defeat by the end of the day?
  13. Early days but I'd say the Peterborough chairman did a very good job for his club with that fee. Brittain is more obviously a good footballer and looks a very good buy. We need more like him
  14. Last night could easily have been 6-0, Reading should have scored more in the first half. It was as bad a performance as I’ve seen. Apart from Travis not one player could hold their head high and say they played to the required standard. The Sheffield game worries me; if we’re not up for that one and the whole teams gets stuck in it could be a cricket score
  15. He looked a class act in the making last night. Yes, he's young and raw but he's tall, athletic and got a nice touch and reads the game well. Some of his passes were into areas where he should not have passed and got us in trouble once or twice but that was more to do with the lack of control of the receiver of the pass than anything else. Having said all that he shouldn't be a regular starting games just yet and we need at least one more centre back signing.
  16. To judge from last night's performance I have to agree. Above all he looks a clumsy player with slow feet. He also lacks physical presence and isn't that skilful or good in the air either. I'm not sure what he offers at all
  17. Heckingbottom will have seen how our lot couldn't handle aggression and pressure last night and will get his team to play the same way. Expect them to play a high tempo game that will pin us on the back foot and expose the flaws in our fragile team. Another reality check I'm afraid Blades 3 Rovers 0
  18. Elgar has played England like a fiddle. He said Bazball was high risk and he's been proved right so far.
  19. If you'd played the game you'd know that your game at 25 is different than at 20. His game might mature in that time but he's got a long way to go. Either way, he's not good enough for the Championship at present and shouldn't be starting matches for us. The fact he does shows how threadbare our squad is
  20. Not when you're sitting there it ain't watching Rovers perform like a load of amateurs. It feels like a jinx
  21. Still don't think it's a hoodoo? Certainly is for me - 4 games and 4 defeats
  22. I didn't say he would lose pace, only that he won't be able to tear around like a blue-arsed fly like he does at the moment. Let's see how he goes. I hope he does make it. In my opinion he won't because I don't see other attributes in his game
  23. Crawley dropped a slip catch now. SA 26-0
  24. His game at the moment involves extreme energy and the ability to run round at high speed putting defenders under pressure. At 20 he is able to do that but by the time he's 25 he won't and he will have to change his game. His quality on the ball is poor. Ultimately I don't think he'll make it. Hope I'm wrong
