  1. Fly a kite 100 times and it's bound to be take off once Nixon's a grubby online hack who wasn't good enough to get a proper job in journalism.
  2. .......... because it's Nixon You don't learn
  3. Rovers’ good start will have been noted by the rest of the league. Bruce is a good manager and he will have looked at the way we play and adjust his team accordingly. I’ve a feeling the mini bubble might burst and we’ll lose this one which might not be a bad thing in reducing inflated expectations of this Rovers team. Hope I’m wrong
  4. Horrible memories of that league cup quarter-final at Cardiff in 2011. Spent more than £200 (alot even then) on tickets, travel, food etc only for Kean to say he wasn't bothered about the result (Rovers played like it too) He still owes us a refund for that one
  5. Yes, fans are being unrealistic to expect our small squad to play consistently well over 40 plus games. It's just not going to happen. Loss of form, injuries, etc will all take their toll, which is when the clubs with big squads will outperform. Our small squad also prevents the manager changing things around from a tactical point of view. We need more players
  6. He's looked like that most of his career including when he was a player! Bruce has a good track record in this division and he'll have Albion up near the top I'm sure Tough game for us coming up.
  7. Have Rovers considered Josh Benson, a promising young lad who plays for Barnsley but has played in the Premier League for Burnley? We could then have Benson and Hedges to light up the midfield
  8. It's not about putting out your best XI. It's about taking them seriously as competitions, which Mowbray never did and was an insult to the fans
  9. Hartlepools..... there's an old term TS not see or heard that in a long time The new manager would get a big tick from me if unlike Mowbray he took both cup competitions seriously Fans love a good cup run, it brings excitement and the prospect of a big game in the later stages. Cups meant nothingh to Mowbray, just a chance to try another team experiment on his "project" to nowhere
  10. Mmmm. Let’s see how it goes before getting carried away. The manager may be a genius but it’ll need 3 or 4 very astute signings to make this team better than average.
  11. They’re right though. We are bang average because most teams in the championship are bang average. We were bang average last season too and so was every team except Fulham. Ok we’ve won 2 out of 2 but we’re still pretty average.
  12. It's this sort of stuff that makes you despair..... that somehow we'd be overachieving by getting to the PL when the likes of fourth division Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic and Brentford are now seen as top flight clubs that we can no longer compete with Broughton was either told to say this by Waggott and Co and if he wasn't he should be brought into line. What happened to confidence and ambition? Timidity and meek acceptance of our fate ....is this Jack Walker's legacy?
  13. You do have to take these selective videos with spadeful of salt Zeefuilk (sp?) looked brilliant on YouTube but turned out to be a huge disappointment Let's see how this lad goes.
  14. Blinded by the Light - Manfred Mann (and others)
  15. Far too much excitement about Morton just because we've got someone actually through the door. Morton fills a shirt and a place in the squad - nothing more. Is he going to be a first pick and an influential player - unlikely. We need more signings - permanent ones who will make a difference to the team
  16. Anyone seen Morton play? If he's as good as Elliott he's welcome but we don't want another Clarkson
  17. Lady in Red - Chris de Burgh
  18. When you're paying a player anywhere up to £1 million a year it's not unreasonable to ask someone to live near their place of employment and connecting with the club and the supporters I wouldn't sign anyone who insisted on him and him family continuing to live 200 plus miles away
  19. Anyway, the point seems to have been lost that if we sign this player he might have the decency to come and live in the area. It's not alot to ask
  20. Yeah, I know. I've been told. Many times. If you'd read the previous posts you'd know that
  21. Yeah, I know. Just been corrected Same goes though: if I were CEO I'd demand any player live in the area
