  1. I've never seen Armstrong take on and beat a defender. No doubt someone will provide a link to him doing it but I've never seen it.
  2. He plays the wide channels by getting behind defenders with his pace but I've never seen him beat a defender one-on-one. His final ball is usually poor. That's not a winger
  3. Armstrong isn't a winger. A good winger can beat a man and cross a ball; Armstrong can't do either.
  4. At least Chaddy was amusing. This one takes himself seriously
  5. The written word is libel; slander is the spoken word. And name calling might be childish but it isn't libellous. Tip if you want to survive on here: rein yourself in and don't argue with everyone
  6. Come back in a few years when you understand there are people who might disagree with you
  7. On the evidence so far, he's a bad bet. And it's clear the money should have been better spent on a centre half and other positions where we are weak.
  8. The fee represents the maximum Forest could screw out of us. Fans with 50 years plus of watching football know the game.
  9. The fee is immaterial and promising youths more often than not fail to mature into top players. At the moment Brereton looks like a £70k player not £7m
  10. A big fee means nothing. We wasted countless millions over the years on the likes of Davies, Ward, Blake, Daly, Grabbi etc etc etc
  11. Agree. If we're going to sign players in the early to mid-30s I would have no objection to us signing a big centre half who is going to provide much-needed leadership on the pitch like Moran and MacNamee. Those 2 would instantly improve the current Rovers side in their playing days. There must be some warhorses out there possibly released by Premier League clubs who could do us a good job - wages might be high but it would be money better spent than on the likes of Downing.
  12. Experienced sub-editors have either been sacked, retired or moved on to other jobs. In the face of fierce pressure from the internet, newspaper managements have cut costs to the bone and checking facts, grammar, spelling etc is not deemed important any more.
  13. Conway seen as too old yet excitement at the prospect of Downing who is about the same age? Does not compute.
  14. With phases such as "Him and Winterbottom" it reads like a piece from a school magazine. Ignore.
  15. LT is produced in Newport, south Wales, I believe so it's no surprise if there are mistakes not picked up by editors with local knowledge.
  16. Not sure I said that as I can't recall seeing Gladwin play but I'll take your word for it!
  17. Where is the inference? None at all. Clubs across Europe like Rovers will survive but will be stuck in an underclass from which they can never emerge, excluded from the very top by money, wealth and power of the wealthiest. Rather like living in Tory Britain in fact. Uefa's latest plan to expand the Champions League to 2 divisions and enable the elite clubs to stay in the CL indefinitely will make the inequality worse. Fans can shrug their shoulders and accept it or they can vote with their feet by staying away because the whole exercise of supporting a club that will never have any hope of getting a sniff of the top is pointless. I suspect many will do the latter. I've already voted with my feet - I do not subscribe to any pay per view sport on TV and rarely watch football on TV at all these days.
  18. With "fans" like this, football and clubs such as Rovers are doomed.
  19. Lancashire trying to lose a game it seemed impossible not to win. Middlesex from 24-5 to 185-5 chasing 304
  20. Well, he wouldn't say that would he? But it's not what I stated - and you in your usual fashion tried tried to make something of it.
  21. All I said was Mowbray has signalled that Raya is to be the No 1, which I believe is the wrong decision. What Mowbray chose to say or not to say is up to him. As usual, you're making things up.
  22. American spelling. British English is defence
  23. How does my post below extrapolate to the above? So Mowbray has backed down on resolving the team's biggest problem
  24. An intelligent manager wouldn't. But an intelligent manager also wouldn't publicly back a player he intended to replace. It doesn't need much intelligence for you to understand this.
