Missed this thread. A belated RIP to one of my favourite players when I was a lad. Lovely left foot, like a magic wand. I agree with those who say a minute's applause for former players are overdone, but match programmes should record the death of players like Barrie Hole. The programme editor should have an archivist or club historian to help with such matters.

How do you explain his inability to sort out the team's defence?

Mowbray proves again he is not the right manager for this club. Assuming Rothwell is fit there is no reason not to have the same starting XI at Forest. Bringing back Smallwood and /or Evans after last night's display would be the final straw for many people

Mowbray shouldn't get any plaudits for tonight because that formation has been begging to be picked for for months. Why he hasn't done it before only he knows. The real surprise tonight was the attitude of the players, whose workrate and attitude was on a much higher level than since probably the win over Hull City. The question is whether the players can take tonight's performance on and build on it for the remaining games of the season. If they can, it will go some way to making up for the dreadful run of form since January. Tonight changes nothing for me. Mowbray has a a long way to go to convince me he will keep us in this division next season.

Mowbray in, er out, in, out, in, out, in..... That's a mighty 7 points out of 36, and a rare clean sheet. Contract extension tomorrow ? Derby must be sick at that result. Puts a severe dent in their promotion ambitions As for Rovers, and forgetting Mowbray, are the players cheating fans for not playing like that all the time? -

The script has been written. Derby will nick a goal in the last 10 minutes. It's what promotion teams do. -

I remember you having a "thing" for Katie Price aka Jordan a few years ago before her boobs drooped to below knee level. Good to see you go for the more cerebral types these days. -
It snowed in June a few years ago. So that's us relegated then

There's obviously some weak links in the team but talk of shuffling players about and trying different formations is missing the point, which is that Mowbray fundamentally doesn't not know what to do to stop the slide. He is a poor manager who has a set way of playing with players he "trusts", and eventually he, and his his team, get found out. It's happened throughout his career at other clubs where he has inevitably been given the sack because of poor results, and we seem to have reached that point with him now. The Rovers hierarchy might come to the same conclusion around Christmas, when of course it will be far too late.

Rangers would beat Rovers. And it ain't pub football, it's better than the Championship. Gerrard would not lower himself to come to Ewood and Rovers is not a step-up from Rangers.

Derby 3-0. Rovers as a club is in freefall with the current manager in charge. -
Complete non-starter. Rangers are preparing him for when Klopp moves on

Apathy rules at Ewood, from the boardroom to the manager to the players to large sections of the crowd at Ewood. I can understand (partly) the people at the top now wanting to upset the applecart, because they're getting very well paid and don't want to lose their jobs, but fans not appearing to care about the direction of the club is inexcusable. Why can't they see that Mowbray's time is up.?
