  1. You need to do some background reading https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2012/may/22/flat-taxes-taxpayers-alliance
  2. I know what is legal or not thank you. No one should ave any sympathy for Ferguson; he tried to avoid paying his dues and got caught out. Flat taxes favour the wealthiest and hit the poorest hardest; presumably you think that's a good thing
  3. And there's the rub..... it's entirely wrong that Ferguson's behaviour is legal. Tax evasion is a problem in this country, but tax avoidance is a huge issue too. When the govt is short of money (unless it's handing over £1bn bribes to the DUP) there are far too many ways for people with clever advisers to avoid paying tax. A vote for Jeremy is a vote to end these tax abuses.
  4. Waste of money in my book. £1,800 is a big chunk from your family finances and would be better spent on education, kids activities such as actually playing sport, and travel, which broadens the mind. Anything's better than lounging around watching TV and lining Rupert Murdoch's pockets.
  5. You're on £25k a year (according to you) yet have enough spare cash to waste £1,800 on Sky?
  6. Mowbray's a workaday lower league boss, not Mourninho. But it would be a blow if he went; we need stability right now.
  7. They've made some stupid decisions these past 7 years and rejecting Warnock is right up there with the worst of them
  8. We drew too many unfortunately. I don't think Mowbray's a wonderful manager but he seems a solid, likeable type with integrity and I hope he stays
  9. The internet needs stringent regulation. The free-for-all cannot continue, and has led to major security risks around the world. Google and ISPs need reining in, and held to account over the content they allow to be displayed. Employing journalists would be a start, and help to compensate for the thousands of jobs they have destroyed in the newspaper industry. Brussels, as always, will play a big role in increasing regulation, one reason why the EU is force for good.
  10. Some way or other I would imagine this service will become available for domestic users. Unwelcome development in my view. Football is nothing without spectators and this will be just another excuse for fans not attending matches.
  11. I watched Ian Callan play for Ramsbottom circa 1982. Michael Holding, batting No 5, carted him all over the place. Now Holding was quick!
  12. Not trying to prove anything. Just a discourse with a fellow poster. I was on the pitch in the 1970s when the club was being badly run. I'm too old now. What have you done ?
  13. Wasn't though was it ? This place was crammed with people believing the Raos' rhetoric and thinking we were going to sign the world's best players and competing in the Champions League. A few of us knew it didn't look or feel right but were shouted down.
  14. Good move by Brum. "Arry" Houdini famously engineered an amazing escape for Pompey in 2006 and I expect him to get them safe again. Birmingham's players obviously didn't take to Zola - the mere fact he's gone will give them a lift. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if they beat Villa. Whatever happens, we're down.
  15. By giving your children gifts at Christmas you are participating in a religious festival.
  16. I'm not. Looking forward to you leaving this board if we go down.
  17. Yep, me too. Imagine Tugay and Duggie in the same team, two wonderful players but Duggie had the edge.
  18. Ireland were quick to close England down and dominated the set pieces all match. England played exactly the same game in the 2nd half so why didn't Jones change England's tactics and shape at half time? .
