  1. "Some fans" on a website. How many's that - fewer than 0.5 per cent of the total average gate? I'd suggest the 99.5 per cent will be delighted when Pulis takes them up
  2. You'd have hated the Rovers promotion winning side under Kendall. Kept it tight for most of the match then nicked a goal near the end. Winning football - love it
  3. There's winning football and losing football. I'd rather watch a winning team
  4. Th All clubs. including Boro, have their playstation fans who think their team should turn it on like Man City. Boro fans will be happy enough if he gets them back in the Premier League.
  5. The likes of Burnley, Huddersfield, Brighton, Watford, Palace, Souhampton etc etc have shown what can be achieved by small to mid-sized clubs with good management and ambition. There's no reason why we cannot do the same - and soon. For heaven's sake, if a fourth division club such as Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic can reach the top half of the Premier League, anyone can
  6. Just because you don't like Pulis and his teams doesn't mean Boro fans won't turn up in numbers to cheer on their promotion chasing team Last time I looked Boro were in the top 6; Rovers playing "nice" football are not.
  7. Wiki says Dunn was born in Gt Harwood though it's not trustworthy. Does beg the question why the town produces so few players
  8. The immutable law of the ex. Palmer will score, there's no doubt about that. Travis's poor showing at Brentford will see the inevitable return of Smallwood. Bennett's poor showing at Brentford will see him retain his place somewhere. Hoping for a bounce-back but Brizzle are a decent side with a good manager and he will have noted how Brentford took our soft defence apart. Rovers 1 City 2
  9. For his long-serving record as a player, manager and many other duties, Tony Parkes should be in there from the start instead of Friedel. And perhaps the last Blackburn born player to serve the club with distinction - Stuart Metcalfe ? Personal favourites to be included soon for me would be Keith Newton and Mike England And for the fans favourite of the 1960s would be Fergie - Mike Ferguson
  10. Instead of Rovers, or as well as ?
  11. I have 2 arthritic knees, a bad back and stopped playing 30 years ago, and I'm still a better footballer than Nuttall
  12. The years haven't been kind to Colin but he and his family have had alot of bad luck. What a player
  13. We need a better goalkeeper and an entirely new back four if we are to stop shipping goals and have any chance of promotion next season
  14. The 1962-65 team was better than the 1995 title-winning side.
  15. You can get away with playing players out of position against poorer teams but sooner or later you'll get found out - like yesterday for instance. If we are aiming higher, we are going to need proper right backs, centre halves and wingers etc, not players filling a shirt because they are "versatile" I never said the latter, but when you're within 3 points of the playoffs with so many games to go to me it seems to me a huge missed opportunity not to strenghen in the transfer window.
  16. Why are you discussing it then ? Most Rovers fans see Brereton as a waste of £1 never mind £7 million. When the team is full of so many square pegs in round holes, and in desperate need of investment in so many positions, his fee will always be an issue while he continues to do an impression of a poor man's Corrado Grabbi
  17. We won't get anywhere in this division if Nuttall is considered good enough to be in the team
  18. You win promotion by having a solid defence, not trying to outscore the opposition. Priority No 1 is to have a keeper who doesn't cost vital points by making silly mistakes, then a domnant centre half. We have neither
  19. A damning statistic on Mowbray and his tactics
  20. Not really the point. There was a real chance today to get close to the playoffs and keep the momentum going. Conceding 5 to a team below us in the league is totally unacceptable The team still collapses all too easily
  21. Just like Bowyer - manager, team and club takes fright at taking the next step
  22. No strengthening in the transfer window was a huge error. I notice Britt scored 2 for Boro today
  23. Soft underbelly of this team exposed again Every single time we approach the playoffs we get nosebleed and take 2 steps back The £7m wasted on Brereton was criminal really when it would have bought 3 players the team needed much more
