  1. This is what I suspected and posted last night. He's being forced out against his wishes.
  2. Talking of retirement, Waggott is in his late 60s. How long before he voluntarily steps off the £300,000 / year gravy train or is he going to do a Gordon Taylor and hang on grimly into his 70s? Not that his replacement would be any better
  3. Wrong club, wrong place, too far from home IMO. They seem a close knit family - Adam down there on his own could be the making of him but equally it might not work out. Lunnun can be a lonely place. And he'll come under the TV and media microscope now with that big fee round his neck. He won't be able to hide and sulk like he did sometimes playing for us It's the thing that grates more and more - rubbish southern former third division clubs such as Bournemouth, Brentford, Luton effing Town, eetc lording it over us and other former top northern clubs. Reflects the economy and the shift of power and wealth to the south east over the past 50 years I suppose. Bastard politicians
  4. Saddened to see Wharton go. Would love to have seen him develop in a Rovers shirt. I wonder how he's feeling tonight....... celebrating becoming a millionaire at 19 or in tears at being sold by his beloved Rovers? I think it's the latter. Wharton's going points to only one thing.... his sale was in effect a fire sale by the club. Venky's are desperate for cash, working capital to keep the club going. I don't expect one penny to be reinvested on incoming players
  5. The Times report mentioned we have the worst defence in the Championship which I assume means goals conceded. That’s partly down to Wahlstedt but also he Ed way the team plays and is set up. We need Phillips from Liverpool
  6. Any comments from the loquacious Wrexham fans that were on here before the match?
  7. I enjoyed watching him tonight; class above their players, made it look easy
  8. Rovers have been lackadaisical this half, with better passing and control we'd have 6 or 7 on the board
  9. Rovers trying to walk it into the net. Shoot!
  10. He's in his comfort zone against league 2 opposition
  11. He isn't a winger. I don't know what he is, except he's not very good.
  12. Good recovery after giving yet another goal away. Garrett too easily dispossessed and Pears left a space on his near post. Wrexham are a threat up front, their big lads are causing Hyam all sorts of problems. This is a good chllallenge for Rovers - can we defend properly for 45 minutes?
  13. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.... Sam Gallagher has find his level !!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Szmodics nice goal, more difficult than the one he missed
  15. Garrett to blame but Pears shouldn't get beaten at the near post
  16. and there it is. One attack, one goal
  17. And that's where it doesn't make sense. When we're struggling for attendances why can't they make it easier? Many fans give up when presented with such difficulties. I guess it's all down to cost cutting and some accountant saying the extra effort and expense to attract a few more fans isn't worth it, but it seems barmy to me
  18. Underwood was unplayable in the right conditions. He bowled at a good pace, probably that of a decent club opening bowler, and managed to extract huge turn at the same time. I've never seen a bowler like before or since. "Flat Jack" was more of a slow bowler than a true spinner, he didn't turn it much. Very good in one-dayers but not a Test cricketer - he eat too many pies for the top level.
  19. As others have said, it’s not so black and white and not a binary issue. if we’re going to have a wish list, putting the club up for sale (with a realistic price tag) has to be one preferred option, or Venkys staying and investing more in the club, coupled with better management at Ewood, is another. What is almost certain is that administration would damage the club from which it might never recover. Assets, such as the training ground and academy, would quite likely be sold. Be careful what you wish for
  20. Well deserved. Without his knock England wouldn't have had anything to bowl at. England looked dead and buried on the first day but turned it around. The beauty of Test cricket. That victory will have shaken India.
  21. Many fans feel the same way - a feeling of anger and disillusion about events over the past decade or so and no one would blame them for staying away - but it is possible to keep supporting the team in blue and white and still have disdain for the owners and the way the club is managed. My red line would be if the players showed a lack of pride and effort in wearing the Rovers shirt - which happened a few times under Kean. The league cup match away to Cardiff was a breaking point for me when I spent £200 on the trip and Kean admitted he's thrown the game. Apart from times like that, football is still like a drug that I can't kick because of the love of the game and supporting the Rovers team
  22. Key man Ashwin gone. That ought to do it......
