  1. Ipswich Town signed Wales striker Kieffer Moore on loan from Bournemouth. Like Hull, signing players from a position of strength Our lot did nothing
  2. From the BBC Hull are now in advanced talks with Burnley over a loan deal for winger Anass Zaroury. The Tigers are having some window, having already brought in Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool and Abdulkadir Omur - better known as the 'Turkish Messi'. Now that's what you do when you want to get promotion
  3. Is the fax machine working and are the Rovers management in the office or at the pub?
  4. Tomasson having little say in transfer policy shows the flaws in the coach / director of football model. Can you imagine Ferguson or Cloughie being dictated to on which players should be signed? Tomasson's obviously an intelligent man who knows his own mind. In his position I wouldn't tolerate it
  5. Midfielders Inside Left Forwards ?
  6. Venky's apologist alert. They pay the gas and water bills (sometimes) so let's doff our flat caps to 'em.
  7. Wharton will be going ahead I'm sure of it: there'd be rumbling on t'internet by now. I fear the reason for the latest farce is far more mundane: the fourth quarter 2023 leccy bill landed on Steve's desk this morning This is not posted in jest
  8. It must be bad - even Chaddy has criticised the club
  9. Will anything have changed by this time tomorrow? I doubt it
  10. Unbelieveable, or maybe it's par for the course Tomasson must be pissed off in the extreme
  11. Been out for a few hours. I assume we've not signed anyone except a 37-year old defender?
  12. Wharton may or may not be happy to take the Palace millions but the lad I'm sure would prefer to remain a Rovers player and from everything that's been said on other threads it's clear that the club have grabbed the money on offer because we're short of working capital over the next 6 months or so. If that's not being pushed out of the door I don't know what is.
  13. There's been a few over the years who have opted not to move after a deal has been agreed. Harry Maguire to West Ham is a recent one that comes to mind, although there were reports he wanted a big payoff from United
  14. I admire your optimism. I'll settle for staying up.
  15. Do you really believe that? The bottom of barrels are being scraped here. Ditto McGuire. We've £20m in the savings account now (allegedly). These freebies only indicate to me that they never had any decent long term signings lined up and don't intend to spend our newfound riches on players
  16. We have the worst defence in the Championship according to The Times. Goalkeeper / defender more of a priority?
  17. There's some clips on YouTube on McGuire, certainly a big athlete with a physical presence. Not too sure if that's much of a recommendation though - Telalovic looked good on YouTube too
  18. Good move by Cardiff, he's a more than useful player
  19. If he's very unhappy at going, could Wharton refuse to sign for Palace? It does happen in the transfer market sometimes
  20. What happened to the Phillips (Liverpool) and Yates (Swansea) links? Two good players who might have made a difference
  21. This is what I suspected and posted last night. He's being forced out against his wishes.
  22. Talking of retirement, Waggott is in his late 60s. How long before he voluntarily steps off the £300,000 / year gravy train or is he going to do a Gordon Taylor and hang on grimly into his 70s? Not that his replacement would be any better
  23. Wrong club, wrong place, too far from home IMO. They seem a close knit family - Adam down there on his own could be the making of him but equally it might not work out. Lunnun can be a lonely place. And he'll come under the TV and media microscope now with that big fee round his neck. He won't be able to hide and sulk like he did sometimes playing for us It's the thing that grates more and more - rubbish southern former third division clubs such as Bournemouth, Brentford, Luton effing Town, eetc lording it over us and other former top northern clubs. Reflects the economy and the shift of power and wealth to the south east over the past 50 years I suppose. Bastard politicians
  24. Saddened to see Wharton go. Would love to have seen him develop in a Rovers shirt. I wonder how he's feeling tonight....... celebrating becoming a millionaire at 19 or in tears at being sold by his beloved Rovers? I think it's the latter. Wharton's going points to only one thing.... his sale was in effect a fire sale by the club. Venky's are desperate for cash, working capital to keep the club going. I don't expect one penny to be reinvested on incoming players
  25. The Times report mentioned we have the worst defence in the Championship which I assume means goals conceded. That’s partly down to Wahlstedt but also he Ed way the team plays and is set up. We need Phillips from Liverpool
