  1. Water carrier but every team needs one.
  2. A bigger worry than the goalkeeper and Wharton sending off is the potential absence of JRC. With the way we play under Tomasson he has developed into a key player and we play so much better when he's in the team and on form. Fingers crossed his injury isn't serious but the way he limped down the tunnel didn't look good
  3. Wahlstedt isn't a 19 or 20-year old learning the pro game. He's 24, at the age when most goalkeepers have progressed to the point where they are confident in their game and their ability. Wahlstedt looks a bundle of nerves and potential errors to me and at that age should be much better than he is. There must be some solid, experienced keepers around the 30 mark who do the basics right playing in the lower leagues that we could sign. Any would be better than our present 2 dodgy incumbents Preston will have taken note today and I expect them to pile in the crosses at every opportunity when we play them.
  4. Delia looking as flat as one of her pancakes
  5. Sutton scathing of the Rovers goalkeeper. A "flapper"
  6. Thin squad getting thinner... JRC out with what looks like a hamstring and Wharton facing a ban
  7. Not my favourite player and he has been poor most of this season but he's played well the past few games
  8. Dolan air shot, rather like my golf
  9. Why didn't Rankin Costello shoot???? Still trying to walk it in the net
  10. Norwich done their homework, pressing Rovers high. Several mistakes already giving the ball away
  11. Norwich without a win in 5 games and Duffy and the immutable law of the ex We know what happens next
  12. Looks strange without Lewis Travis. I'm sure you'd agree
  13. Ennis looked like he'd never played for years at Chelsea, completely off the pace mentally and physically. He must be one of the most questionable signings the club has made in recent times - and there's been a fair number
  14. Anyone know if it’s possible to pay on the gate?
  15. Clear shove in the back of the defender too. Also, shouldn’t the ball be inside the quadrant from corners?
  16. Livingstone, what a waste of space. And he got a central contract. No wonder Willey was teed off
  17. Then came the shock FA Cup defeat away to Oxford United, captained by one Ron Atkinson IIRC. And it was a shock - scarcely believeable at the time. A sign of the decline to come unfortunately
  18. Bad memories of going there in the Premier League relegation season when we were 3-1 up with 10 minutes left and managed to draw it 3-3. Brilliant goal from Hoillett IIRC Won't be going this time as it's too early in the day. Hoping for a bounceback after the Swansea and Chelsea defeats but with a dodgy goalkeeper and non-scoring forwards it's best to be realistic Norwich 2 Rovers 1
  19. I don't normally bother with long posts (it's supposed to be a messageboard) but that was a good read - heartfelt for the good old Rovers days and written with a bit of style. Well done
  20. I felt sorry for Harry Pickering. His lack of pace and poor positional play, coupled with the lack of help and cover from either Garrett or Moran, allowed James and Sterling especially in the second half the freedom of the right flank. It was excruciating to watch. It's game like these when you realise many of our players just aren't good enough for the higher levels - and Harry's one of them. Funnily enough, I though Markanday did OK, quite tidy, didn't give the ball away much and made some good runs. He's always going to struggle because of his size though,, he's such a little lad. Chelsea's big hulks just brushed him aside
  21. 12-year-old schoolboys Someone said it was like a Sunday league goalkeeper, which is in fact an insult to Sunday league goalkeepers. I've rarely seen amateur keepers make the gaffes Wahlstedt (sp?) did at Millwall and Chelsea. Both of our goalkeepers are liabilities. Tomasson has to be ruthless. Bring Pears back until January and find a better goalkeeper in the next transfer window
  22. From where we were standing more than 100 yards away it looked a penalty, as clear a penalty as you'll ever see. Everyone around us said the same. "Handball"! Rovers need to make an official inquiry to the EFL as to why it was not given. The referee should at least provide an explanation.
  23. We were right behind the goal for his gaffe at Millwall and again behind him last night. At present he is no better than Pears. We need a proper goalkeeper, one who gets the basics right. I can't believe there aren't better ones in the lower leagues we could sign I've played in teams with dodgy goalkeepers who regularly give goals away. It saps your morale and as players it pisses you right off when you work your socks off and all that work is undone by silly mistakes. Outfield players make mistakes too, but a goalkeeper who makes them regularly is a liability
  24. Our group was right behind the goal. He didn’t need to lace the ball, it just needed a left foot side foot into the corner but he couldn’t even test the keeper. His age is irrelevant, it was a bad miss and he misses a lot
