Good game last night; both teams were up for it and United showed us a lot of respect with the team they put out. Although we didnt create much, the fight was there. However, I was disappointed with a number of things; 1.) Played too deep and gave United time and room in midfield to get a foothold in the game - why were we not right in there faces and our midfield on the half way line? like at Old Trafford? E.g. there was one occassion in the second half when Giggs got the ball just to the left of the centre circle and not one Rovers player was within 20 yards of him - poor for a home side. 2.) Kuqi was goosed - why didnt he get subbed at half time? He works hard but if he has time to think his ability shows through - or lack of it should I say. Given a split second on the ball and he does a good move/scores. 3.) Our distribution from defence was appalling? we must have given them the ball over 20 times last night, just in the first half. We cant afford to do that with the likes of Ronaldo/Rooney picking up the pieces. 4.) Having said all this - United didnt have many more shots on goal than us. 5.) How annoying are the Man United ''fans''? Singing nursery rhymes all night! Do they not realise that the mixture of Devon, Cockney, Manc (2 of them), Norfolk etc accents make it almost impossible for us to understand what they are singing?

Hope we do it tonight - you just never know what to expect with Rovers; but I'm a lot more confident than if SouMESS was manager. The key is Nelsen v Rooney and keeping Giggs and Ronaldo quiet. I think the best form of attack is defence, as proven at Old Trafford in September. We went for it, and got our rewards. Bellamy should be able to use his pace and power to worry their defence. Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan wants Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers to be fined for not completing fixtures after their undersoil heating systems failed last week. Whelan accused them of 'bad management' for letting their fixtures be cancelled. The Premier League is investigating the postponements of the two games. Newcastle United's game was called off because of problems in the surrounding area, and so won't be investigated. Dave Whelan said: "If a club can't sort their heating system out they need to be fined heavily." Wigan Athletic lost 3-0 at home to Blackburn Rovers on the following Saturday. Dave Whelan commented: "They were fresh as daisies. No wonder they won." BAD MANAGEMENT! I'll tell you what bad management is ! When the pies are still frozen at ten past three!! Jansen wont get near the 1st team so cant blame him - Kuqi, Dickov, Bellamy and even Gallagher ahead of him. Good luck to him for the rest of his career. I wont forget what a good player he was (could still be) and who played a major part in getting us promoted a few years back

Missed loads of chances - but I'd be more concerned if we werent creating the chances in the first place like the Kidd, Harford era.. Kuqi and Dickov were immense last night; with a prolific goalscorer we have no problems. Remember, Bellamy has to come back yet. We bossed it - pressurising them on the edge of their own box, winning every 50/50 ball I can remember and passed it about brilliantly. Boro played like the away side, backs to the walls most of game. They had a few chances but only one shot on goal, and that was the last kick off the game.
