  1. Its not like the players signed are specific to his system. In fact, theyd be probably better in a different system.
  2. Surely even we wouldnt be stupid to allow Hyam, a crucial player to go. And then stick just with Miller who is a right back so will be also needed there, Carter who is made of glass, Wharton just back from very serious injury and then just McLoughlin.
  3. I mean, I dont get why whether a young striker who has been continiously injured for years and who hasnt even been under first consideration is loaned out or not, affects whether we should sign someone to improve the first team. But there you go.
  4. What utterly bizarre logic. Why not replace him if hes turned out to be a dud?
  5. Doesnt fit the narrative as much though.
  6. Reportedly bidding for a striker. Which is why you have reverted back to thinking that we need one. We need a striker, goalkeeper and midfielder.
  7. Has he said several clubs? In which case, seems like a good story that never actually has to come true to provoke interest.
  8. Would take Browne every day, but cant see it for a second. Shouldnt be the priority, a striker should. But would really improve the midfield if it was somehow aswell as.
  9. I hope so. We definitely need a striker and a goalkeeper. We also need a midfielder IMO. Thats before factoring in any potential sale of Hyam, which cannot be allowed to happen. Ismael I presume will confirm if there is any hope of adding further in his press conference tomorrow.
  10. Did he specifically claim credit for giving him his debut? I will listen tomorrow.
  11. I am not asking for Elliott Jackson's opinion. He said 1 in 1 out beside a winger, before Baradji came in and before Travis and Buckley left. So surely that means 1 in based on that logic. As I said, I have always said that we need a striker, I dont base my opinion on parroting what is said by Ismael. We needed one regardless of whether our injury prone striker training with the under 21s on a tiny wage stays or goes. I fear that tomorrow may be a day where any hope of a new striker is dashed by Ismael. I hope to be wrong. It would be the second change of heart from a mixed up club on signing a striker, but its needed.
  12. His win record is worse than Coyle and Gary Neville after the same number of games. He sticks to a formation that clearly doesnt suit the players he has. What sort of attitude is "weve made our bed now lie in it?" Self punishment? Would Mbuemo and Cunha not be useful to any semi competent manager. I hope they keep him. Hes doing a dreadful job.
  13. Why do you keep saying that they were willing to fund the club as if they were pumping money in?! The vast majority of seasons prior to the court case, we either profited or were at even in terms of fees in v fees out. Offsetting the natural losses that all non parachute payment Championship clubs incur is NOT the same as willingly funding the club. This current season, our net spend will be not far away from zero in transfer fees. They will again have to offset the losses we will incur in the accounts. Nothing has changed in that regard. It must be this confusion which has led to you defending Venkys and deflecting blame so much over the years.
  14. @chaddyrovers do you think Amorim warrants the sack?
  15. We need 2 or 3 (I think striker, keeper, midfielder), but Ismael said just a winger and then replacements for outgoings. Baradji for Travis. Morishita as the winger. So just Buckley leaves 1, if he is seen as needing replacing. Was he...lying?! Are you expecting more sales? You also said you wanted a striker when Gestede said one. Then we had enough when it seemed like we wouldnt get one. Then maybe if we let Leonard go when Ismael said only replacements are coming. Where are you on the striker roundabout now, do we need one?
  16. It was the same window that he got annoyed publically that he couldnt sell Rothwell and reinvest the proceeds. Its being interpreted as if he was offered a warchest, in a season where Venkys sold Armstrong and didnt invest at all, and he said no.
  17. Strikers dont always take penalties. So not taking the 1st or 2nd, fine. But to be the very last outfield player to take one.
  18. Hasnt it been said that he corrected the host who said wrongly that he had?
  19. Who said that they had got excited? And knocking back money is not what he said.
  20. It will be interesting to see what Ismael says tomorrow. His consistent comments for 2 or 3 weeks were 1 more (a winger) and then replacements for outgoings. Since then, Baradji has come in (injured) and Travis has gone. Obviously that winger turned out to be Morishita, and Buckley has also gone although he wasnt in the first team picture anyway. A midfielder based on that logic would potentially fit into what Ismael was saying, although Buckley they might argue was not in the picture and doesnt need replacing, although Travis' replacement is injured. So who knows. Unless something has changed. We wanted a striker at the start of the summer, so the only explanation would be that the fees for Travis and Buckley have opened something up. I am not convinced that is certain that we will do more business.
  21. He is clearly a man of principle but in this instance I completely agree that it was a stupid stance to take and one that warrants criticism. That being said, it is the way that people have escalated it to ridiculous conclusions. I have no doubt that he did always try his best and actively want to do as well as he could for the club. Its suggestions that he was actively trying to avoid promotion which clearly make absolutely no sense and are a figment of peoples imagination.
  22. To be fair, it was going to be permanent until injury. Nothing to do with rating him or not.
  23. Ipswich didnt really see him play though, no slight on him, it seemingly was an opportunistic temporary deal to bolster the squad but Morsy and Luongo at the time were outstanding. Plus they are about to sign their second midfielder of the summer for £10m. They are fishing above that.
  24. None of that warrants hatred, 4 years on, especially when much of those things are speculation on your part. McGinn went to Villa the summer we wanted him. I think you are confusing that with Reed who he played wide. Perhaps the wrong decision, but something that should warrant frustration at the time, no more. My recommendation would be not to watch that podcast, purely for your own health.
  25. I dont even understand why you even would put yourself through it such is your irrational hatred of him.
