  1. He tends to cause problems whenever he plays to be fair. Those problems though are sadly to us.
  2. Defeatist attitude? He clearly isnt a player whose strengths include winning headers. Where he plays means that he rarely will be involved in winning headers. If suggesting that he shouldnt be marking a big, powerful striker who is really strong in the air from a set piece is me being defeatist, then fine. I never said anything about giving up either.
  3. Another contrarian view. He clearly isnt a player who is going to win many headers nor should he be marking the oppositions main aerial threat known for scoring headers, if indeed he was.
  4. No one said that he should have started on the bench on Saturday. The point is that as is the case in tbe majority of positions, we have no choice but to keep playing him until he breaks down. Thats unfair that he was playing within himself. His durability is an exception to the rule. Nothing that you can say will convince me that our squad is anything other than very thin in particular in certain areas.
  5. I didnt say he wasnt injured, I suggested that he didnt go down the tunnel so I hoped that he was just tired. And yes, we have run numerous players into the ground because our squad is paper thin and we have numerous players unable to contribute. The front 2 have to play every game and it was imevitable that one would pick up a muscle injury soon.
  6. Little wonder that Gudjohnsen has picked up a muscle injury. We have run him into the ground. I think I would rather go with 10 than play Gueye. I certainly wouldnt play Henriksson up front, I would rather add an extra midfielder and play Miroshita higher up.
  7. Seems to be a few people saying that but he didnt look injured, just knackered. I dont think he went down the tunnel for treatment either but may be wrong and not seen anything post match. He is very limited in his all round game, but he does have a natural instinct for being in the right place at the right time and can finish which justifies his place in the team as its the most important part of being a striker.
  8. Which costs money that isnt forthcoming.
  9. What attributes does he have? Hes tall, not seeing much else.
  10. He hasnt been mismanaged. Hes just really bad.
  11. The owners should know but havent bothered coming over in a decade. They clearly dont care about the state of the facilities hence their denial of a full pitch revamp a couple of years ago.
  12. We did well today. I read earlier in the week that Millwall have looked tired lately and have had issues with central midfielders in particular. Neil wasnt happy with their application today based on his post match interview. But we still took advantage and won comfortably. But the squad is still a state overall. Henriksson didnt do anything when he came on really. He isnt up to standard. We need 2 more strikers because Ohashi and Gudjohnsen are being run into the ground.
  13. So if we signed 2 players from random foreign leagues on cheap fees and wages permanently and a loan, youd consider that as being backed? Either option would give a high probability of relegation.
  14. Today we did well to get the result. Was a poor quality game but a comfortable win. But in general, yes. We are still near the bottom of the table. The squad is so stretched with very little quality.
  15. How am I underestimating anyone? Merely saying that the academy graduates have adapted to the step up far better than some of the signings made from weaker leagues.
  16. I think it says a lot about the standard of the leagues we sign players from that academy lads who have only played youth football seem to have less of an adaptation to the standard.
  17. Very important and deserved result in a comfortable and poor quality game against a goalkeeper who seemed keen to help us out. Thought the senior players were key today. Tronstad is so important, Cantwell too, and although I have been critical of him and dont rate him too highly, I thought that Miller had his best game for us. Pickering also was decent coming back. Out of the academy lads, I may be in a minority but I though that Pratt was the stand out, dealt with everything comfortably and is built to be a defender. Litherland can be proud of himself although I think after an eye catching 10-15 minutes, you could tell at times that he wasnt playing in his natural position.
  18. That team and squad is frightening.
  19. I suppose there is ambiguity in terms of what counts as being backed. If he thinks a couple of loans and another cheapo from abroad for a small fee and tiny wages is being backed, at any point in January, then he may well be "backed."
  20. Based on the last 15 years, its crazy to even believe that and anticipate that. And that wouldnt be disproven even if he was.
  21. He can say what he wants. He said in the summer he wanted 90% by pre season starting. He isnt the reason any sane person would not anticipate a successful transfer window.
  22. Its happened time and time again. Enough to not give them the benefit of the doubt. I cant fathom you "reckoning" that they are gonna back Ismael, go early in the window and improve the team. You are being overly optimistic. We have heard it all before.
  23. So do I. But they wont. Ismael is a crap manager but its not him I was referencing.
