The story put on here the other day said that the Gibson deal was at the final stages. -

You said you didnt want Gibson because he is left footed. That was the specific reason you gave. Also, I am guessing you now agree that we definitely need a wing back on both sides. -

Nixon is just throwing mud and hoping some sticks. He was saying the other day that the Gibson deal was almost done. Cashin is left footed so again wouldnt make much sense. But as long as it makes a story, I am sure nothing will come of it. -

Fair enough. Suppose it has grown legs a bit if he said that. So Mowbray didnt reject him, but James and his dad rejected us essentially due to Mowbray being an absolute weirdo. How have we got to the stage where people will make and listen to podcasts with footballers dads?! -
Shame to see Anderson get knocked out tonight in a very good game. Hopefully Van Veen will knock the arrogant Littler off his perch tomorrow but I cant see it. Never good to see one consistent dominant force and would be good to see a new winner to reduce the predictability.

It seems to be a rumour that has grown legs. You wouldnt have expected him to sign Bradley Dack as a bit of an Essex party animal by that same token. -

I feel like that Reece James story like many has really grown legs. -

5 defenders, 3 defensive midfielders, an attacking midfielder who cant shoot and a striker who spends most of his time on the wing and isnt a good finisher. -
Todd Cantwell - is he off?

Its NOT injuries that have predominantly cost us. Its the poorly put together squad that has cost us. -

And we need more than 3 or 4. -

I know why these players werent selected or brought on. I am not saying that they should have been, I am saying that they werent because they are one of numerous examples of terrible recruitment. My point is that the squad is nowhere near good enough. And you are just bending over backwards to defend the club. -

De Neve wasnt needed because he is shit. Thats my point. Pickering was never going to change the game either. Gueye is a senior player that is fit but is a waste of time hence why he wasnt missed. Kargbo has been a waste of time whenever he has played. What would Forshaw and Montgomery have done had they been available to change yesterdays game? In the summer, Gestede kept banging on about bringing in extra defensive cover to ease Wharton back. We didnt, we repeatedly played him and he broke down again. We cant then bemoan his absence as hard luck. I dont know why but as our poor squad repeatedly shows itself up, you are going even further out of your way to justify it. Honestly, please just look at whats happening in front of your eyes. -

See post below, better to develop your own opinions rather than just use the injury excuse. I have never changed my tune on my opinion that the squad we have is not fit for purpose. If you want to be flippant and say some good some bad and not look beyond that, or take discussions off on random tangents to justify things, thats up to you. -

But overall, the squad is not fit for purpose. If hes played a big part in that then it reflects badly on him. Simple concept. -

Yep, away win. Saw yesterday a stat before the game, amended for the result yesterday, Ismael has a very healthy 4 wins from 18 home games in charge. If that is just league then make that 19. -

When he signed for us it didnt get the same sarcastic comments. Eustace knows him etc. -

If Ismael has had such a big say in building this shitty squad then that says a lot about him. -

So the last time was 8 seasons ago in League 1. And you are going round shooting people down who doubt whether it will happen this time? -

Ive posted in the Wrexham thread about how its easy to blame injuries but if you look a bit deeper, that excuse doesnt hold as much weight. Its absolutely mental how an "overhaul" in a summer that you repeatedly defend the success of, can then lead to the point where we will happily take just about staying up (with the help of 3 or 4 more signings you seem to trust the club in getting in of sufficient quality) having finished 7th last season, before totally reassessing. -

Yeah, we will be reyt. Just need a couple of signings as the cherry on top of the cake that is our otherwise functioning team. "Top spy" Gestede will sort it. -
I suspect they will be more suitable than Venkys.
