  1. These games dont matter but planning ahead, there is a strong argument that Foden should be playing over Bellingham. O'Reilly really should have a chance to become our left back, its not a strong position and hes doing really well at City. Gordon likely will pull out due to injury but hes lucky to get in. Hes been absolutely dire all season for Newcastle and is on a run of something like 20 games without scoring or setting up a goal.
  2. The problem is, you clearly dont see a considerable pay rise as important hence the "so what" remark earlier, but it will play a big part as it would for anyone. Wolves are in the Premier League, even if they are favourites to go down, he would still be going straight into the Premier League. As opposed to being in a position where he has an outside chance of getting there in a year. I thought youd be all over the appointment seeing as he "knows the club."
  3. Not content with just 1, Sky have decided that both of our games v Preston this season should be played on Friday night.
  4. I definitely think rushing him back is a risk we cant afford to take. But I dont think we can get away with those 3 considering the number of matches we have to come. Carter is so injury prone and either of the others could pick up an injury or a ban. Its a totally avoidable mess of a situation.
  5. I always find it funny how dismissive people are about earning more money in football, or even resorting to suggestions of greed or implying that people shouldnt factor it in. He will get presumably a sizeable pay rise and instantly will be managing in the Premier League.
  6. That is terrible news. Strange that Ismael implied that he had a chance for the weekend.
  7. For Wharton, did you mean three weeks? Another big blow, Wharton has had a serious achilles injury before. The decision to let Hyam go and not replace him means the defensive issues are totally self inflicted.
  8. It probably isnt, but expectations will be low, even if they come down theyll have money to come back up, his wage will still likely be higher especially now but even if they go down, its a club he clearly has an affinity to. As opposed to at Boro where he might go up but theres less than 50% chance.
  9. Pay rise, instant chance of Premier League football, going back to a club he spent a lot of time at as a player. Would be understandable rather than crazy.
  10. Hes also got history with Wolves. Big pay rise, instant Premier League football, little expectation of survival and even if they go down theyll have parachute payments and be favourites to come back up.
  11. Ismael has said that Toth is out for 12 weeks. Dreadful news.
  12. I acknowledged yesterday that you did suggest that it wasnt a direct result of Hedges' absence. But you do keep mentioning it suggesting that it is in your mind a factor. Its a difficult conversation to deny that a player who has regularly been in teams in the top half isnt a top half player but to suggest he is that level does imply that all players contribute equally to league position. Jason Lowe has been mentioned, he was a mainstay in a few seasons where we just missed out on the play offs, that would suggest hes equally a top half player as Rhodes was for example. As a winger, he has consistently failed to contribute anywhere enough going forward. He doesnt score goals, he doesnt create goals, he doesnt provide any individuality and often makes poor decisions. He works hard, has a good engine, and shows good tactical discipline and endevaour to protect the defence. Him at wing back makes much more sense. As a winger, I stand by my opinion that he is not good enough.
  13. I might be wrong but didnt Weimann get injured in the Norwich game which I think was early March, and he was not fit enough to start pre season on time.
  14. RevidgeBlue goes over the top but he ie not a "top table player." Having fantastic fitness and work rate is not enough. He has been so poor in the final third offering next to nothing as a winger and his general play is not as good as you suggest. He always works hard and will work back but that is not enough to avoid criticism or be as crucial as you suggest. Also, this narrative that his absence led in any way to that terrible season is totally disingenous. The owners totally pulled the rug from under us that year, our squad was stripped of experience, we barely had any players hence why the likes of Markanday and Garrett played so many minutes, the manager clearly didnt want to be here. It wasnt because Hedges got injured.
  15. Wonder when Venkys are flying over for Saturdays game. Surely they wouldnt miss such a big anniversary considering how committed they are...
  16. Its not always been unfair. From an attacking position, throughout his time here he has failed to contribute anywhere near enough. His effort is always there but thats not enough to avoid warranted criticism. Maybe at times that criticism has been hyperbolic but hes not done enough for general criticism to have some merit to it. I think playing him as a wing back really suits him though because there arent those same expectations going forward. You touch on the terrible 23/24 season not being because he was injured. That certainly is correct, even for Venkys it was a particularly terrible season in terms of off the field stuf.
  17. We arent really a club that is transparent or capable of communicating properly. Case in point, the fans forum.
  18. Terrible news and will likely cost us points.
  19. Am I going mad or is Pickering smaller than Ribeiro?
  20. Has to be the concern. Squad is really thin beyond the first 11 or so and we may need to peel too far beyond that main team on Saturday.
  21. Obviously the first goal is important but we lost v Swansea, Birmingham and Sheff United after scoring the first goal. And our only home win (and draw) came after conceding first.
  22. Hedges certainly suits the wing back role more than being a winger. He still isnt very productive in the final third but there is less onus on that in this system and he plays this position as if hes played it lots before.
  23. I thought the injury time was inevitable due to the injury to Toth, and to a much lesser extent to Wharton. Alebiosu I think got a slight touch on the ball, although it looked to be just outside the box anyway.
  24. I dont think anyone on here felt that he was likely to flourish playing at a much higher level. Obviously made the correct move as you should always strive to better yourself and has already played against some great teams and played lots of game time. But he was still undoubtedly a loss for us.
