  1. There will not be a warchest in January. Its been made more difficult for them to send money in the past. But they dont willingly send money anyway, and this seems to be misunderstood. Barring one year in which we had the one off sale of a record breaking academy graduate, they HAVE to send money every year to cover losses. Basically all Championship owners have to do the same. Expenses exceed income for clubs at this level, only difference now is they dont have to provide the same level of guarantee to do so.
  2. But the supposed reason isnt logical, people are questioning it rather than agreeing and parroting it. We wont consider free agents because they wont be up to speed. So a bloke who we knew would be injured for months surely would also be a no go for the same reason.
  3. You could ask Kenny Dalglish the same question.
  4. So you expect that that there are great things to be said about the environment within a football club owned by Venkys (who couldnt be arsed showing up to our anniversary) and one being run by Suhail, Gestede and Owen? He will be talking about the club he remembers.
  5. The pre pouring of drinks has been something mentioned over such a long period of time. Many people will just not bother having a pint at half time because of the queues, its impossible to avoid missing a chunk of either the first or second half. And it never seems to change.
  6. The owners were the ones taking us down.
  7. Theyve signed big money signings that need to work out, and in Isak and Wirtz, they are top players, hardly gambles who had scored loads in a lesser league or anything like that. The team you would think sooner rather than later needs to be built around them. It feels with the latter like they are trying to squeeze him in to a similar iteration of their previous template for a team. Theyve for a while been 433, had a hard working, selfless and energetic midfield and central striker with the 2 wide men providing the goal threat, which was pretty much all Salah once Mane left. As a result, he was excused from defending. Last season they pretty much played the same team every week, getting fortunate with injuries. To fully charge forward with a reset, I do wonder if Salah's role needs to reduce, hard while he is at the club, and/or they need a new manager to see it as a total change. They cant give Salah a responsibility free role on the right and give Wirtz time in his best position, I dont think. Leaves them too open.
  8. Its incredible how for someone who moved on from annoyance at Eustace telling a white lie in a press conference "ages ago", it has been mentioned so many times whereas with 15 years of constant lies, barely a murmur.
  9. He definitely is not shocking. I do have doubts about him, he is rash and has a mistake in him (see Bristol City away) and hes also not the best on the ball. I am sick of the throw too although obviously thats the managers responsibility. Im still not sure what his best position is, but there is something to work with. Celtic should coast to the league with the resources they have (even allowing for the fact they have spent less this season) and likely will now a big chunk of toxicity has gone, Hearts starting well got people giddy but they likely will revert to the mean. Rangers should be more competitive but theyve totally wasted so much money, mainly on crap from England.
  10. The club ie the owners and board were at fault for far more than that.
  11. I get that but to say that its purely a footballing decision when youve got a potential big pay increase and a location change is blatantly untrue. As a football decision I think you can make an argument either way. At Wolves, its guaranteed instant Premier League football, the only way he gets that. Expectations are very low, he wont get loads of blame if they go down. If he pulls off survival, and Burnley and Leeds are in danger, hes a miracle worker. Assuming they go down, theyd be big favourites, big resources and a good chance of then gaining some momentum. If he got sacked before then, it wont damage his reputation too much if at all. At Boro, they are fighting with a lot of teams for a top 2 place. Couldnt say its a likelihood they go up, less than 50% chance for sure. Play offs is more likely, and is obviously a lottery. Gets them up either way, big reputation boost but they arent a stand out team so I would say more chance they dont and his reputation is unchanged. He is bitter about Eustace because its the only way to divert blame away from the real culprits because he doesnt want to criticise the club.
  12. None of that explains why it is ONLY a footballing decision and he shouldnt consider non footballing factors.
  13. The lengths you are going to to make Eustace seem like the villain, redirecting again away from the people who let him down and keep letting us down, have become beyond a joke. Not clapping a fanbase that were giving him stick.
  14. The squad isnt good enough or deep enough regardless of formation to be honest. But a back 3 and front 2 means there is absolutely no alternative in either position and leaves 2 reasonable squad members in the squad (left backs) out of the picture. You at least have 3 wide men (Miroshita, De Neve, Hedges) for 2 positions and 2 strikers for 1 position.
  15. You havent explained why it is only a footballing decision, and money and location dont play a part. You often say you repeatedly have explained something when you havent.
  16. Well yes, but they wouldnt continue without any articles to read. Factual or otherwise. Either way, we both know how January windows go here.
  17. It doesnt suit the overall squad though, its a big chunk of games, lots of midweek games, all in a small space of time. In defence, we would need Carter, McLoughlin, Miller and Alebiosu to all play every minute as we have absolutely no serious alternative. Same up top, we need Ohashi and Gudjohnsen to play every minute and have nothing off the bench as Gueye is a joke.
  18. Its not just a footballing decision, clearly. Its a job offer, it involves salary, it involves location, it involves Edwards as a person, not just a football manager. I dont agree with your logic on the football aspect of it, you are making a lot of assumptions on budget/targets, but thats fair debate. But to say its just a footballing decision is even for you, ridicilous.
  19. In no world is Hyam not better than both McLoughlin and Miller. McLoughlin struggled to regularly nail down a central spot and you can see why, Hyam was so steady, consistent and reliable. With Miller, its hard to nail down exactly what position he is best in. He is far more rash than Hyam, and he isnt as good with the ball at his feet. He has more power and is more athletic but isnt a better defender. Travis is definitely far more effective than TGH. I think De Neve and Henriksson are not far off Tavares levels. Just not up to standard. Miroshita and Gudjohnsen have shown glimpses that there could be a player in both once they have fully adapted, not seeing that with the first 3. Alebiosu and Brittain are different types of full back/wing back, I would still have Brittain just ahead but Alebiosu has been a really good signing and replacement.
  20. Should have clapped a fanbase that had idiots giving him stick 😂 He was the one that was let down. Us fans have constantly been let down but not by him, by those who own and run the club. Just some are blind to it.
  21. If another broadcaster offered them double the money and the studio was round the corner from their house, I am sure they would turn it down. How on earth can it just be a footballing decision, whereby money and location should just be dismissed out of hand.
  22. Dont forget the invisible Baradji. Only Alebiosu from the summer is a success really. The others range fron average/underwhelming to wastes of time. Hes got absolutely no footballing ability.
  23. Its in Nixon's best interests to promote the idea of potential transfer business to try and increase the traffic of the gullible towards his patreon. We know what happens at this club in January and it isnt us getting what we need to improve the team. We have already had to name really makeshift back 3s with yesterdays choice to put Hedges there a particularly ridiculous decision. We now have loads of games in a relentless schedule before January arrives with not enough defensive cover or quality and with the hapless Gueye as the only alternative up front. January may already be too late. These should have been sorted in the summer.
  24. You have ignored my question about whether you have any concerns/doubt about Ismael and whether 19th is a position you consider to be underachieving with these players, as I feel like in the past you think these players are better than that. Gallagher played at right back for less than that, about 10 mins between making 1 sub and another sub. Hedges played at centre back for a full game. The latter was far worse. Johnson false 9 for a half was stranger than Gallagher moving for 10 minutes, but at least that weird experiment was abandonded at half time and we turned that game around.
  25. The worry is aswell, after this international break, thats when the games really do start piling up. We have a small squad with a lack of depth and quality and this is when it will be really tested. I think Ismael (and I have no confidence in him) needs to decide on our main formation, whereby we minimise the need to have to keep changing system or doing weird shit (like Hedges at centre back, one of the strangest decisions I have seen) when someone becomes unavailable. And due to the imbalanced, poor squad, its about picking the one that has the least glaring weaknesses. I think that has to be 4231. The back 3 has clearly had merit as a short term approach but a bit of unavailability throws it into chaos. If we go to a back 4, I think our best back 4 is Alebiosu, Carter, McLoughlin and Pickering (judgement call at LB) which itself isnt great. It brings the left backs back into the equation and it at least means that we have one player to cover the 2 centre backs and Alebiosu in Miller, especially as Carter is made of glass. If we carry on playing as we are, any minute that any of Carter, McLoughlin, Miller or Alebiosu are unavailable, he will have to come up with strange alternatives to keep a back 3 intact. It would leave us light out wide, but it also provides us with an alternative up front. I dont like going into games knowing that there isnt a striker on the bench that isnt a total shambles and a laughing stock, its not healthy. Ohashi is better than Gudjohnsen but neither is anything stand out in the division, so it also gives you the possibility of swapping on form and not having to keep flogging both.
